The 14th of November saw me chosen as Kiarnie and Stuart’s Sunnybrae Function Center wedding photographer. The day’s conditions was pretty much perfect for taking photos, being overcast but not raining, and being blessed with the most boisterous congregation I’ve had the privilege of photographing as a wedding photographer. The day’s format was almost exactly the same as the last time I was tasked to shoot a wedding at the Function Center, complete with beach visit and staying at the Oak’s Embassy for preparation photos, but this time Kiarnie and Stuart were having their ceremony in the pristine grounds. Kiarnie and Stuart opted to take advantage of my full day wedding photography coverage so I was with them right throughout the day from their preparation until the final event at their reception.
I’d like to take this opportunity to give a shoutout to Kiarnie and Stuart’s Videographer who I worked with on this wedding. Joby of Big Day wedding videography was a riot to be around and made the entire day a lot of fun.
Both Kiarnie and Stuart were getting ready at the same hotel, but different rooms. As such I spent only around 30 minutes with the boys as they were getting ready before heading up to the girl’s room.
Kiarnie and her bridal party were very organised with personally made gowns, coat hangers and glasses, complete with names and date. Obviously much more keen for photos than the boys and I think they turned out very well.
Sunnybrae Wedding Ceremony
The Sunnybrae Function Center, located in Regency Park, is a sprawling event center capable of hosting multiple functions at once hidden away behind an industrial park. The grounds boast sprawling lawns, rose gardens and wandering peacocks complete with rustic machinery and old buildings. Pretty much perfect for wedding photography. Built in 1882, the grounds are heritage listed and I believe used to be a mill.
Sunnybrae Wedding Photoshoot
After taking some shots around the Sunnybrae gardens, we headed off to Semaphore beach for some photos along the jetty.
Function Center Reception
As I said before, the congregation at Kiarnie and Stuart’s wedding were very boisterous and I’m sure they got their money’s worth when it came to their drink package, however much that is 🙂
I’d like to thank Kiarnie and Stuart for having me as their wedding photographer and I hope you didn’t get into too much trouble with the Function Center. I had a lot of fun, and I’m sure you’ll remember your wedding day for years to come with the help of my photography.
