Canadian Great Lakes Couples Shoot – Maria & Nick

As a destination wedding photographer, capturing the beauty of love in the great outdoors is always an incredible experience. Recently, I had the opportunity to photograph Maria and Nick, a lovely couple, amidst the stunning Canadian Rockies. The great lakes region of Canada offers some of the most breathtaking backdrops for couples’ photoshoots. We made use of a few locations that showcased the natural beauty of the area.

Canadian Great Lakes Couples Shoot Locations

First, we headed to a lake in front of the Three Sisters mountains, which are a trio of peaks in the Canadian Rockies. Our aim was to use the Three Sisters as the backdrop for the photoshoot, however, the weather had other plans, and the clouds covered the mountains when we arrived.

Instead, we decided to focus on a nearby forest and field. We captured some amazing photos of Maria and Nick amidst the natural surroundings. But, just when we thought the weather wouldn’t clear up, the clouds opened up to reveal the stunning vista of the Three Sisters. We quickly got Maria and Nick to run through the grassy fields again, and we were able to capture some incredible shots with the mountains in the background.

Next, we headed to the Canmore Grand Rockies Hotel for lunch. The hotel is an architectural masterpiece nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. We couldn’t resist having Maria put on her wedding dress for a few photos in front of an intricately designed floral arrangement. The hotel’s elegant ambiance and stunning architecture provided a perfect backdrop for the photoshoot. Maria and Nick looked breathtaking, and we were able to capture some beautiful moments.

Our final destination was the picturesque Lake Louise, known for its turquoise blue waters and stunning views. As we were taking photos, it was not uncommon for passersby to ask if we were photographing someone famous, as Maria and Nick certainly looked the part. The highlight of the day was when Nick burst open a bottle of champagne in front of the incredible Lake Louise vista. It was the perfect way to end the day and celebrate their love.

Three Sisters

The Three Sisters mountains are a majestic sight to behold. Maria and Nick’s photoshoot in front of the Three Sisters was nothing short of incredible. The weather added an element of surprise to the photoshoot, just as is was with Sydney and Dan’s photoshoot, the clouds covered the mountains when we arrived.

However, we were able to capture some stunning photos of the couple amidst the natural surroundings of the forest and field nearby. When the clouds finally cleared, we were able to get some amazing shots with the Three Sisters in the background. The Three Sisters provided a breathtaking backdrop for the photoshoot, and the photos turned out stunning.

The hotel’s elegant ambiance and stunning architecture provided a perfect ‘home base’ for Maria and Nick’s Canadian Great Lakes couples shoot. The hotel’s surroundings added to the beauty of the photoshoot, and we were able to capture some beautiful moments between Maria and Nick.

Lake Louise

Lake Louise is one of the most stunning locations in the Canadian Rockies. The turquoise blue waters of the lake and the surrounding mountains provided a perfect backdrop for Maria and Nick’s photoshoot. As we were taking photos, it was not uncommon for passersby to ask if we were photographing someone famous, as Maria and Nick certainly looked the part. We were able to capture some stunning shots of the couple in front of the lake and the mountains.

The highlight of our Canadian Great Lakes Couples Shoot was undoubtedly our visit to Lake Louise. The lake is known for its mesmerizing turquoise waters that reflect the surrounding mountains, creating a stunning view that leaves you speechless. When Maria and Nick stepped out in their perfectly coordinated outfits, it was a sight to behold. It wasn’t uncommon for passing tourists to ask us if we were photographing someone famous. They certainly looked the part!

We started by walking around the lake and taking some photos on the lakeshore, where the water was so clear that you could see the rocks at the bottom. Maria and Nick were naturals in front of the camera, and their love for each other was palpable. The light was perfect, and the couple looked absolutely radiant. I took a few photos from different angles, and Nick surprised us all by bursting open a bottle of champagne. It was a magical moment, and I captured it all on camera.

As we wrapped up the shoot, we all stood in awe of the natural beauty that surrounded us.

Looking back on the photoshoots, I’m so grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a wonderful couple in such breathtaking locations. The Three Sisters, Canmore Grand Rockies Hotel, and Lake Louise provided the perfect backdrop for Maria and Nick’s Canadian Great Lakes Couples Shoot, and I’m thrilled to have been able to capture it all on camera. I hope these photos will serve as a lasting reminder of their love and the incredible scenery that they were able to experience together.

Canadian Rockies Couples shoot – Sydney & Dan

As a photographer who likes to travel, I am always on the lookout for beautiful and unique locations to capture unforgettable moments. Recently, I had the opportunity to do a series of short couples photoshoots in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies, and let me tell you, it was an experience I won’t soon forget!

Canadian Rockies Couples shoot Spots

The Canadian Rockies are full of stunning locations for photoshoots, and we made sure to take advantage of as many as possible. One of the first spots we visited was the Three Sisters mountains. These mountains, located just outside of Canmore, Alberta, are an iconic landmark in the area and provide a breathtaking backdrop for photos. We initially planned on using the Three Sisters as the main focus of the shoot, but unfortunately, the weather wasn’t cooperating that day. Despite this, we were able to use the beautiful nearby lake and surrounding mountains to create some truly stunning images.

Another location we visited was Lake Minnewanka. This glacial lake is located in Banff National Park, and its crystal-clear water and stunning mountain backdrop make it the perfect location for a photoshoot. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather while we were there, which allowed us to capture some truly breathtaking images.

Three Sister’s Photoshoot

When we arrived at the lake in front of the Three Sisters, we were disappointed to find that the weather was too cloudy to see the mountains. However, we didn’t let that stop us from capturing some amazing photos! Instead, we focused on using the lake and surrounding area to create beautiful and unique images.

We captured shots of the couple walking along the shore, traipsing about in the fields, and making sure they were both smiling the entire time! The fog and mist that rolled in during the shoot added a dreamy and romantic feel to the photos, and the couple’s beaming smiles made the images even more beautiful.

Lake Minnewanka Photoshoot

Our Lake Minnewanka photoshoot was truly magical. The weather was perfect, with bright sunshine and clear blue skies. We started the shoot on the shore of the lake, capturing shots of the couple walking hand-in-hand along the rocky beach. As the shoot progressed, we decided to get a little more adventurous and persuaded the couple to wade out to a small island in the middle of the glacier runoff. The couple was a little hesitant at first, but once they saw the amazing views from the island, they were all in!

The photos we captured on the island were some of my favorites from the entire shoot. The couple stood on the rocky shore, surrounded by the stunning blue water and towering mountains in the distance. The contrasting colors of the water and rocks created a beautiful and unique color palette, and the couple’s love for each other was evident in every shot.

I can confidently say that the Canadian Rockies are one of the most stunning locations for couples photoshoots. I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to capture some amazing images in this breathtaking part of the world during this Canadian Rockies couples shoot. The Three Sisters and Lake Minnewanka are just two of the countless locations in the area that provide a stunning backdrop for unforgettable memories.

Canada’s Lake Louise Wedding Photoshoot – Melodie & Brandon

I recently had the pleasure of heading out and photographing a bit of a destination wedding photoshoot with Melodie and Brandon in the breathtaking Canadian Rockies. From the towering mountains to the crystal-clear lakes, it was the perfect backdrop for their special photos! We started the shoot at Lake Minnewanka, which was a great warm-up location for the couple. The views of the surrounding mountains were simply stunning and provided a great opportunity for us to capture some amazing shots.

The real highlight of the shoot, however, was our time at Lake Louise. Despite the cold water, Melodie and Brandon were both incredibly game and even got into the lake for some unique and memorable shots. The scenery around Lake Louise is simply awe-inspiring, with the turquoise water reflecting the surrounding peaks in perfect clarity. We made the most of this amazing setting, with Melodie’s stunning wedding dress and Brandon’s dapper suit making them look like they had stepped straight out of a magazine.

Melodie and Brandon were both so easy-going and up for anything that it made the shoot an absolute pleasure. They were keen to try different things and experiment with different poses, which allowed us to capture some truly unique and creative shots. It was clear that they were deeply in love, and it was a privilege to be able to document such a special time in their lives.

The photoshoot at Lake Minnewanka was also an incredible experience. The beautiful blue-green water, surrounded by towering mountains, provided a stunning backdrop for the couple’s photos. Despite the chilly weather, Melodie and Brandon were absolute troopers, and we were able to capture some beautiful moments between them.

As we walked around the lake, we found a number of great spots for photos, with the natural beauty of the area complementing the happy couple perfectly. From the mountains in the distance to the trees framing the water, it was the perfect location for some romantic and atmospheric shots.

The Lake Louise wedding photoshoot was the real highlight of the day. The turquoise water and the mountains in the background provided a breathtaking setting for the couple’s wedding photos. Melodie’s stunning wedding dress and Brandon’s sharp suit looked absolutely amazing against the stunning natural backdrop.

Despite the chilly water, Melodie and Brandon were both determined to get in and make the most of the amazing location. Their willingness to try new things and push themselves out of their comfort zone really paid off, with some incredible photos captured as a result.

Queenstown’s Cecil Peak Wedding Photoshoot – Kerri & Kate

Weddings are beautiful celebrations of love and commitment, and when it comes to capturing those precious moments, what better backdrop than the majestic Queenstown in New Zealand? Kerri and Kate, a delightful, silly couple filled with laughter and joy, decided to embark on a unique adventure for their destination wedding photoshoot.

They braved the heights and chilly weather to capture their love story on the stunning Cecil Peak. Let’s dive into the details of their fun, unforgettable day!

Preparation

As with any wedding, preparation plays a crucial role in ensuring everything goes smoothly. Kerri and Kate chose to get ready in the comfort of a cozy room at Mercure in Queenstown. The excitement in the air was palpable as they adorned themselves with elegant gowns and delicate accessories. Kerri, however, had a little apprehension about the cold weather awaiting them on the mountaintop.

Despite her worries, the support of her loving partner and the warm camaraderie between the two made the anticipation even more exhilarating. The room buzzed with laughter and cheer as they shared jokes, heartfelt stories, and a few happy tears. It was evident that their bond was unbreakable, and they were ready to conquer any challenge that came their way.

Cecil Peak Wedding Photoshoot

Ascending to the breathtaking heights of Cecil Peak, Kerri and Kate were greeted by a landscape that took their breath away. Though the weather wasn’t ideal, with spitting rain and overcast clouds, it didn’t dampen their spirits in the slightest. Love has a way of shining through any adversity, and that was precisely the case on this special day.

The panoramic view from Cecil Peak, overlooking the picturesque city of Queenstown and the magnificent lake, provided a truly awe-inspiring backdrop for their photoshoot. Every click of the camera captured the essence of their love, the sparkle in their eyes, and the radiance that emanated from their hearts. The unpredictable weather only added a touch of whimsy and unpredictability to their story, making it all the more enchanting.

Kerri, with her initial concerns about the cold, found solace in the warmth of Kate’s embrace. The two of them huddled together, creating an intimate cocoon of love and support amidst the chilly mountain breeze. Their smiles never faltered, and their laughter echoed through the peaks, creating a symphony of joy that resonated with the natural beauty surrounding them.

Their Cecil Peak wedding photoshoot in Queenstown will forever serve as a reminder that love knows no bounds and can flourish in any setting.

Kangaroo Island Elopement – Claire & Jacob

  • Claire & Jacob

    Kanagroo Island Elopement

Bride and groom in front of Cape Willoughby Lighthouse

Claire and Jacob held a super secret Kangaroo Island Elopement unbeknownst to all their family and friends except for their witnesses! From the moment I met with Claire and Jacob I knew their elopement was going to be a special one, and it certainly turned out to be a fantastic day starting from sunrise on pennashw’s beach, up to Cape Willoughby Lighthouse before finally heading to Pennington bay for their elopement ceremony.

Morning Photoshoot

We began the day at the crack of dawn – hoping for a stunning sunrise to illuminate the sky behind the lovely rocks at Frenchman’s rock. Unfortunately that wasn’t to be with a rather overcast beginning to the morning, we made use of the rock formations anyway, before finally slivers of the sunrise revealed itself towards the end of our time there.

As a result Claire and Jacob’s Kangaroo Island elopement photoshoot began by getting our feet wet a bit, which in my books is the best way to start a day of photo taking! Next stop was scaling cliffs near the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse!

Before heading out to the lighthouse however, we made use of the nearby Sculpture trail on Penneshaw beach to take some shots within some of the sculputes and on the lovely suspension bridge cutting across the gully.

The last time I was on Kangaroo Island before Claire and Jacob’s kangaroo island elopement was about 10 years prior, and I had just got into photography then. I ventured out this way myself hoping to capture some stunning landscapes and of course I did so – but that trip allowed me to remember some amazing spots bewteen Penneshaw and Cape Willoughby – including tree lines dirt roads and grass along the sides of some roads! made sure we made use of them.

Our time at the Cape Willoughby Lighthouse was the moment I was most looking forward to before heading out for Claire and Jacob’s elopement. I remembered there was an amazing winding road leading to the lighthouse itself, and also some stunningly tall cliffs whcih I was keen to ask Claire and Jacob to scale for photos! I was lucky they were keen to do so! Not since Georgia in Hobart had I seen a bride so willing to run around on rocks in her wedding dress before the ceremony!

It was absolutely marvellous despite viewing the footage my wife took after the fact and realising how high the cliffs under us really were!

Kangaroo Island Elopement Ceremony

Claire and Jacob’s Kangaroo Island Elopement ceremony took place on a little secluded beach, surrounded by cliffs nearby the beautiful Pennington Bay. This secluded location allowed for minimal wind to interrupt the ceremony and it made for a lovely, intimate ceremony.

The waters around Pennington bay is beatifully clear and shallow enough so that Claire and Jacob could wade out a bit for some photos, so of course I made them do so! The scenery just called for another round of wading so we certainly made use of it all!
