Emma and Stephen wanted to show off their love for one another with a Belair Train Station Engagement Shoot before their big day at Mt Barker’s Auchendarroch House.
With Stephen travelling half away across the world from the US to see Emma after several long years apart due to the dastardly effects of the COVID pandemic, they were finally able to be together so they wanted to celebrate as soon as possible!
Emma was in two minds throughout the day about whether or not to head out that night for their engagement shoot due to the weather in the morning being less than spectacular. Thankfully the weather cleared up during the day and we all head out for what turned out to be a beautiful evening.
Belair Train Station Engagement Shoot
We began Emma and Stephen’s Belair Train Station Engagement shoot in amongst the station’s historic platform and waiting shelter where we made use of the beautiful ‘Belair’ writing on the wooden structure and the delightful parallel lines leading all over the place makeing for some lovely scenes.
As Emma had explained before heading out, she had not seen Stephen for several years prior to their engagement shoot, so these two were full of lovey-dovey hugs and kisses all evening, which made my job that much easier!

As we set out during golden hour, we wanted to make the most of the golden hues of the sun streaming in through the majestic gum trees that make up the Belair National Park. We went for a little walk just behind the Belair Train Station to make use of this amazing setting!

Just as we were wrapping up, and having a chat with a group of joggers who had just finished their excersises, a freight train thundered past the Belair Train Station platform, so we quickly jumped in front of it for a bit of a photo! The train operator obviously had a bit of a ssense of humour and made sure to be seen throughout. 🙂

Marriage is one of the most significant changes that can happen in life. It’s a union between two people bound through love. Before the big day, engagement comes first. And with being engaged comes another pretty overwhelming event: planning a wedding.
A wedding day is often seen as one of the most important days in a person’s life – although probably shouldnt be. You can argue that it’s certainly more critical than a graduation ceremony or maybe even a birthday. That’s why many people want their wedding day to be as perfect as possible. So here are some wedding planning tips!
For newly-engaged couples, planning a wedding means they’re both treading on unknown territory. They might not know what steps to take in planning their wedding. If you’re one of them, this article will shed some light on some wedding planning tips that I feel like everyone should know.
Tip #1: Understand Each Other
You’re a couple who will be bound through marriage, for better or worse. That’s why it’s important to always understand each other. This includes honoring each other’s preference for the wedding day, such as venue or decorations. Before making any big decisions, make sure to always consult with your partner first. If you do so without consulting them first, problems like misunderstandings may happen.

Tip #2: Always Communicate
Marriage still means you’re in a relationship, so it’s important to always communicate with each other. In the case of a wedding, you’ll want to talk about the budget, who to invite (or not invite), or even what food to serve in the reception. The conversations might seem to be trivial, but it’s best to get them out of the way to lessen the load.

Tip #3: Expect the Unexpected
No matter how organized your wedding will be, there’s always a chance that something on the day itself might go awry. You could end up dealing with rain, for instance, especially if you will be having an outdoor wedding. While it can be stressful, you should not worry about it. On your wedding day, there’s only one thing that matters—marrying the person you love.

Tip #4: Ignore Any Unsolicited Advice
The people around you may offer unsolicited advice. The pressure could get to you, but remember one thing: this is your day and you shouldn’t let others tell you what to do on that special day. A simple response like “Thank you, we’ll keep that in mind” would do well.

Tip #5: Remember to Organise
Wedding planning can be really stressful if you have no plans. That’s why you should always remember to plan everything in advance, down to the last detail – or at least until you are comfortable. Some people just strive on ‘going with the flow’ afterall!
If there are certain ‘must have’ moments of your day which you’ve expected your entire life though, best to make dure they happen with a bit of a plan!
This way, you save yourself the stress as you go through the process. If you don’t have time for it, you can always hire a wedding planner if you have the budget.

Tip #6: Focus on Your Relationship
As stated before, wedding planning can be really stressful. That’s why at the end of a busy week, you should spend some time with your partner. A wedding planning break in the form of a date night would do you both well, which eases the stress of planning your wedding.
Out on pride rock
Planning your wedding can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. These wedding planning tips can help you take out some of the hassle of wedding planning, leading to a memorable and fun wedding day. Regardless of the obstacles you may face during the wedding planning, the important thing is that you and your partner get to spend the rest of your lives happy—which begins during your wedding vows!
