3 Tips to Having a Memorable Wedding Photo Booth Experience

Having a Memorable Wedding Photo Booth Experience

Wedding days are truly special occasions, especially when it’s you and your significant other’s turn. That’s why having a photo booth is important to have during the reception to capture the happy faces and heartfelt messages of your guests without the shyness some people feel in front of your actual wedding phtoographer. But what exactly can make your photo booth truly memorable?

This article will discuss three practical tips to make certain that you can look back at your wedding day and say you and your guests had a memorable wedding photo booth experience. Take this as an opportunity to plan for your big day well by looking into the important services. This way, you and your future spouse can look forward to the success and excitement of your wedding!

3 Tips to Having a Memorable Wedding Photo Booth Experience

1. Ensure the setup, management, and removal are all taken care of

You definitely don’t want to be stressed on your special day, meaning you don’t want to go through the trouble of setting up and repacking the photo booth. After all, it’s your wedding day, and your first moments as a newly married couple should be spent in celebration. You also don’t want to burden your guests with these tasks.

As such, find a wedding photo booth provider that will set up, manage, and pack up the photo booth for you. Doing this lets you have one less thing to worry about and focus more on making wonderful memories with your guests. You may even have the chance to join them at the photo booth!

What I tend to do at weddings with my own photo booth is set up at the venue prior to heading to the groom’s place of preparation – that way it’s ready to go as soon as the reception starts. Then I just pack it up at the end of the night.

2. Designate a time in the program for pictures and socialising

You can have the best wedding photo booth in the world, but it can all go to waste if there’s not enough time during the reception for picture taking. It will just be a huge inconvenience for you and your guests, plus you will just be wasting money. That’s why it’s recommended to at least have some time dedicated to the photo booth and other wedding festivities.

To ensure everyone has time to try the booth, you should count the number of guests attending and the duration of your reception. All you need to do is have a portion of your reception not dedicated to anything else – it doesnt have to be ‘NOW EVERYONE TO THE PHOTOBOOTH!’ Just a time where there are no speeches, meals being served and whatnot. Also make sure everyone knows it’s there by asking your MC to mention that you’d like everyoneo use it!

This way, everyone can come home with their own photos to remember your special day!

3. Ask the photo booth provider how guests will receive pictures

The standard function of every photo booth is to offer patrons a chance to take photos with their friends and family and print them out as their keepsakes. There are even times when you can get the digital copy of the photos afterwards, allowing you and your group to download them and post them on social media.

All these expectations may be something you and your guests want from your wedding photo booth. So make sure to ask your provider how everyone will receive their photos. Ideally, you want something that they can print out and also download online to ensure they can get their memorabilia!

Generally my own photobooth will take 4 photos of the guests and print out a strip in duplicate. The idea beaing that one guests can keep as a keepsake from your wedding, and the other gets stuck into a photobooth guestbook or put into the wishing well.

Having a photo booth at your wedding can be a meaningful way for your guests to interact with one another and have a good time. You can now make the experience more memorable as long as you remember all the previously mentioned tips to having a mamorable wedding photo booth experience. So start your planning phase and book all the necessary services to ensure everything runs smoothly on your big day!

3 Benefits of Hiring a Photo Booth For Your Wedding

Benefits of Hiring a Photo Booth For Your Wedding

Your wedding is one of the most significant celebrations of your life. As you embark a new journey, it only makes sense to document every single precious moment of this big day through wedding photos.

Aside from hiring a wedding photographer to capture the important parts of your wedding, another way of preserving unforgettable memories through high-quality images is by hiring a photo booth. You may consider not having it at all in your venue to save money, but trust us when we say that it is worth every penny. Here are some of its benefits:

3 Benefits of Hiring a Photo Booth

  • It offers entertainment to your guests

Common wedding entertainment options include putting on the perfect music that suits the ambience, sharing exciting song and dance performances, and showing some of your wedding videos to your friends and family. But over time, your guests may find themselves glancing at their watches every once in a while.

If you’re looking for a unique way to keep your guests entertained and engaged, add a photo booth at your reception. You won’t have to worry whether they are enjoying the party or not, and they can have fun by themselves by striking their favourite poses and using various props.

A photo booth is also enjoyable for all ages. It is one of the best ways to get your senior guests out of their seats and have them interact with the younger crowd. Plus, it gives them the opportunity to take more photos with their family.

Some people also prefer having their photo taken by an inanimate object such as a photo booth as many can be camera shy, and regardless on how awesome your wedding photographer is, they would just prefer not to have their photo taken!

  • It serves as the perfect keepsake

A photo booth prints photos right after they were taken, which means your guests can get instant souvenirs from your wedding day. These photos can serve as the perfect keepsake that will remind the people dearest to your heart of the heartwarming moments they had during the most special day of your life. They can also stick them in their fridge and keep them there for years to come. You can also download them and print multiple copies of your favourite photos.

The printed strips can also function as a personalised addition to your guest book, where your guests will stick one of the strips they recieve onto a page along with a heartfelt note.

  • It adds to the overall style of your venue

Some photo booths have stylish setups that can add to the overall look and feel of your venue. This is what you get when you seek our photo booth solution. Aside from offering wedding photography, we provide a photo booth for hire with a one-of-a-kind open-air design.

Unlike traditional booths where your guests have to line up to get inside a stuffy box, ours has a unique appearance that is much more entertaining and inclusive. It allows for your entire party to see what’s going on in front of the camera and join in on the fun. In addition, it has a luxurious red or white curtain as a backdrop and a large selection of funny props and costumes.

Moments are fleeting, but you can preserve them and cherish them for many years to come by taking photos. By hiring a photo booth at your wedding, you can record your unforgettable memories with your friends and loved ones, keep everyone entertained, and enhance the aesthetic appeal of your reception. With all the benefits you can reap, it is definitely worth your money.

Wedding Reception Keepsake Activities

Over the past 4 years as a wedding photographer I’ve come across a number of fun and interesting wedding reception keepsake activities you might undertake to produce a physical keepsake for your reception guests so they remember your wedding reception. The following suggestions are designed to put a smile on your guests face beyond the usual delicious food and drink they’d be served at a wedding reception and of course seeing the lovely newly wed couple.

Having a photobooth at a wedding reception has almost become a standard that produces a wedding reception keepsake. The above image was taken from a recent wedding I covered where the photobooth printed out numerous copies of a strip of photos that your guests can keep as their wedding reception keepsake, while the other copy could be glued into a blank album allowing them to write well wishes and document the reception in a way that nothing else can. SvenStudios now offers their own photobooth solution geared towards the budget conscious.

Sketch Artist

A really novel idea I’ve seen twice now at different weddings is the idea of having a wandering sketch artist sketching caricatures of your guests as their wedding reception keepsake. The benefit of this is the production of a really personal image that is really quite different than the vast majority of wedding receptions out there, so if you want to make an impression, having a sketch artist present may be a winner. The above image is a caricature of myself by sketch artist Peter BroelMan who was present at a recent wedding I was wedding photographer at. I really hope this idea catches on as it produces some awesome reactions from guests and can provide a truly unique wedding reception keepsake.

Polaroid Cameras

Poloroid cameras

Perhaps the most common of wedding reception keepsake ideas is having a polaroid camera, or several sitting around the wedding reception venue available for guests to use themselves. The idea being that your guests would wander about shooting their own photos of the night hopefully capturing quirky situations your professional wedding photographer wouldn’t. The great thing about polaroid cameras is that it instantly prints a small square image as soon as you take the photos, thereby becoming your wedding reception keepsake. You can see a few of the square polaroid prints on the table in the shot I took above at Leonie & Andrew’s Monarto Zoo wedding. The problem with polaroid cameras however is that often, unless you invest well in the cameras, they don’t like low light situations, such as the typical wedding reception venue, so beware. But they do tend to be better for the purpose of creating keepsakes than your typical disposable camera, which are also very popular at wedding receptions, as they allow your guests to take something home.
