Adelaide Veale Gardens Wedding

Adelaide Veale Gardens Wedding – Alison & Grant

May 11, 2015/in Wedding, Wedding preview

Alison and Grant’s Adelaide Veale Gardens wedding took place on the 20th of March 2015. Coupled with a wonderful family and weather the day was full of little situations that really made the day stand out. From the use of the wild Ibis birds that live in the gardens, to the Bridal motorcade not arriving on time I’m sure my wedding photography will give Alison and Grant a beautiful reminder of their day. Alison and Grant opted to take advantage of my flexible hourly rate where I was with them for 3 hours from Alison’s Preparation in the nearby Hilton Hotel through to their ceremony in the Adelaide Veale Gardens and the beginning of their reception.

Bridal Party Preparation

Alison’s bridal preparation at the Hilton Hotel was a simple affair, with a bridal party of 4 girls packed into a small hotel suite, there wasn’t much room but we all managed.

Adelaide Veale Gardens Wedding Ceremony

The gardens are part of the Adelaide park lands surrounding the CBD of Adelaide, and is located the the south, surrounded by Greenhill and Peacock Roads, South Terrace, and Sir Lewis Cohen Avenue. Veale Gardens is named after William Charles Douglas Veale, who was Adelaide’s Town Clerk from January 1947 to November 1965. I’ve had a number of weddings at the Veale Gardens, the most recent being only a month earlier. But this time around the weather was much more accommodating, albeit very sunny. Alison’s Cars did not arrive on time, so the bridal party ended up being quite late, keeping their son and of course Grant a bit on edge waiting for them.

The gardens are a very popular spot for wedding photography as the gardens boast magnificent shaded spots for interesting scenes, and occasionally bird wildlife. The Adelaide Himeji Gardens are also not very far away if you have the time to wander over there.

I’d very much like to thank Alison and Grant for having me as their wedding photographer at their beautiful wedding and I hope they like their photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
