A venue can look incredible online, but what is it actually like when you’re getting married there? Where does the light fall in the afternoon? Where can you disappear for photos without leaving your guests for an hour? What happens if Adelaide decides to deliver four seasons in one day?

We’ve photographed more than 1000 weddings in and around Adelaide, along with weddings interstate and overseas. Over that time we’ve accumulated a rather ridiculous amount of first-hand venue knowledge, so this directory brings it all together in one place.

Adelaide has an unusual advantage when it comes to weddings: you don’t have to choose between city convenience and beautiful scenery. Within a relatively small radius you can find historic estates, intimate restaurants, garden venues, beachfront spaces, grand hotels, churches, golf clubs, wineries and wonderfully quirky places that don’t fit neatly into any category.

This venue guide grew from our own work as Adelaide wedding photographers. Every new wedding gives us another opportunity to explore a property, discover how the space works and add something useful for the next couple searching for somewhere to celebrate.
