A little organisation goes a long way when there’s no second take.
I’ve photographed proposals from a distance, blended in with visitors and, on occasion, taken the art of concealment rather seriously. What matters is choosing a position that gives us the clearest view without making your partner suspicious.
We’ll settle a plan beforehand so you aren’t trying to text me while reaching for a ring. If the location is busy or the weather turns, a simple backup keeps things flexible.
And once the question’s been asked? The stealth mission is over, and we can have some fun with your engagement photos.
05 / Adelaide proposal location ideas
Adelaide Botanic Gardens and Mount Lofty Botanic Garden: greenery, seasonal colour and winding paths. Allow for public visitors and check any photography requirements.

Port Willunga, Henley Beach and the Fleurieu coast: sunset walks, wide skies and seaside portraits. Tide, wind and the time of year matter here.

07 / Questions before the big question
Send me the preferred date, approximate time, proposed location and whatever you’ve planned so far. We’ll discuss availability and work out a discreet plan before the day.
The aim is to keep the photographer unnoticed until after the proposal. I can blend into the surroundings or photograph from a distance; the exact approach depends on your location and available sightlines.
Absolutely. I can suggest Adelaide gardens, beaches, lookouts, city spots and Adelaide Hills settings, with practical advice about crowds, access and lighting.
Yes. It’s a favourite part of these sessions. Once the surprise is over, we can take natural photographs nearby while the excitement is still fresh.
We can discuss an alternative position, covered location or revised timing beforehand. Outdoor surprises need a little flexibility, particularly around the coast and the hills.
