Ingle wood Inn Wedding – Stephanie & Ben
Stephanie and Ben’s Ingle Wood Inn wedding was held on a beautiful day late November. The weather wasn’t hot, nor cold and the clouds stayed at just the right times and left at others – it really was quite a stunning day to be a part of!
As a wedding venue, the Inglewood Inn is one of my favourite spots to head to. It boasts a surprisingly diverse set of photo opportunities while still being quite a private and intimate spot for some spectatular wedding ceremonies – particularly during the summer!
Preparation
I started the say with Ben and his family being prepared at a nearby house on a lovely quiet street which we made use of with Ben’s brother’s little motorcycle which he seemd pretty proud of!
The preparation was nice and laid back with Ben’s mother and father stepping in occasionally to help with ties and pinning flowers on lapels. If Ben was nervous – he was hiding it well!
Stephanie was being prepared at the couple’s house – also nearby and the first thing I did when arriving was to convince Stephanie to hang her dress up int he small forested area right out he front of their house. Thankfully she let me without much fuss, as it was a stunning spot to make use of for a hanging dress photo!
Stephanie and her bridesmaid also had a bit of fun with a bottle of champaigne before doing a bit of a reveal to Dad who had not seen the dress on Stephanie until that morning. It’s always lovely to see!
Ingle wood Inn Wedding Ceremony
Stephanie and Ben’s Ingle Wood Inn Wedding ceremony took place on the grassy area before the Inn building – where it’s usually held, but perhaps slightly to the right of where it’s often set up. This allowed for the forested area to be the backdrop behind their modern hexagonal arbour which looked quite stunning!
The ceremony began with Ben looking away from where Stephanie was entering, allowing for a proper ‘first look’ as she walked down the aisle as he turned around. Then continued with anecdotes of ther relationship until that point and culminated with a simple exchanging of rings and first kiss.

Stephanie and Ben’s Ingle wood inn wedding was an absolute blast to photograph. The weather was overcast – but not cold, and the sun shone through the clouds just at the right times in order to best use it’s presence felt in their photographs!
Directly after their ceremony, and after the big group shot which we took with their bridal car before it left we made use of the oldest bridge still in use in South Australia – Gollop’s Bridge. It’s a mainstay of photos at any Ingle wood Inn wedding, and we certainly made the most of it with Stephanie’s awesome long veil hanging over the ledge!
We also made good use of the greenery and running creek situated behind the wedding ceremony location so some stunning shots as the sun dipped lower and lower.

It was common up until recently to have access to a little ruined cottage just up the road a bit from Inglewood Inn as a backdrop for photos, but the owner no longer allows it’s use for that so we had to travel a little further up the road. Thankfully Stephanie and Ben were quite adventurous and were keen to climb a bit of a hill to get a neat shot of them on a cliff with Inglewood Inn in the background.
While climbing down however I manged to slip and fall on my main camera :/ oh well that’s what insurance is for!
Later in the evening we also head back out to Gallop Bridge in the dark to make use of some smoke in a can and lights!
Ingle wood Inn Wedding Reception
Stephanie and Ben’s reception was full of delightful people having a great time celebrating the occasion. I had a marvellous chat with a grandparent whom I was sitting with on one of the tables and I was made quite at home all night – which makes my job so much easier and enjoyable for everyone involved!
Stephanie and Ben’s Ingle wood Inn wedding was an absolute blast to be a part of and they made my job as a wedding photographer that much easier by being such amazing people, at a stunning location! Was awesome all around!
