Inman Valley Wedding – Ash & Will

Ash and Will’s wedding day was the kind of celebration that makes your heart feel a little fuller and your boots a little dustier – in the best possible way. Held on a private farm nestled deep in the rolling hills of Inman Valley on the Fleurieu Peninsula, this wedding was equal parts relaxed, romantic, and rooted in the simple joy of gathering with the ones you love. With a guest list of close family and dear friends, it was the epitome of an authentic country-style celebration.

The whole day felt like a giant warm hug. Will and his family had travelled all the way from the UK to be part of the occasion, adding that extra layer of sentiment to the already emotional atmosphere. Ash and Will have explored the globe together, but choosing this down-to-earth, rural setting for their big day reflected their shared appreciation for home, heart, and heritage. It wasn’t about grandeur – it was about meaning. And every element of the day carried that with gentle grace.

The ceremony spot was like something out of a rural dream – shaded by a timeworn peppercorn tree, with the gentle hills rolling out behind it like a green and golden patchwork quilt. The landscape was breathtaking, but the love in the air easily rivalled the scenery. Friends and family gathered closely, many with boots crunching on the dry earth, as Ash made her grand entrance in true country style – riding in on the back of a ute with her bridal party, looking every bit the country queen.

Their vows were the kind that linger long after the words have been spoken – raw, real, and overflowing with emotion. You could feel every ounce of their journey, the adventures, the homes shared across continents, and the bond that brought them here, to this humble and sacred space under the open sky. And once they sealed their vows with a kiss, the couple didn’t walk – they jumped back on that same ute for their exit, laughing with delight as the crowd erupted in cheers and applause. It was unpolished perfection, and I loved every second.

After the ceremony, we made the most of that iconic ute – using it not just as a backdrop but as a central character in their story. We gathered the family for group shots right there on the farm, capturing the warmth and togetherness that this wedding was all about. Then came the fun with the bridal party – boots in the dust, champagne flowing, and plenty of laughter echoing across the paddocks.

For the couple portraits, we wandered just a little further into the property and found the most magical light you could dream of. Golden hour hit the trees just right, casting a warm, syrupy glow over everything it touched. The dirt road created a delicate haze in the sunlight as vehicles passed earlier, and the dust floated on the breeze like some sort of visual poetry. As the sun dipped lower, the scene shifted from sun-soaked serenity to barn-style celebration. String lights hung from the rafters, long wooden tables filled the space, and the walls echoed with heartfelt speeches, clinking glasses, and the kind of belly laughs that can only come after years of shared stories.

There was a delicious homeliness to everything – the food was hearty and full of flavour, the drinks were flowing, and the vibe was pure fun. The dancefloor ignited as the evening rolled on, with boots stomping and skirts twirling to a mix of Aussie classics and a few UK hits for Will’s side of the family. At one point, I even saw Ash barefoot, dancing in the middle of the crowd, arms in the air and happiness all over her face. These are the candid slices of life that make a wedding unforgettable.

Ash and Will’s Inman Valley Wedding was everything a wedding should be – real, joyful, and unapologetically them.
