Meet Sven
I’m Steven ‘Sven’ Duncan, and I’ve been shooting weddings for over 16 years, with over 350 under my belt all around Australia and the world. I met my wife, Luisa and we now cover weddings together as a team.
Some call me a lunatic – and perhaps I am, some call me amazing – truth be told I just want to do the best possible job for the couples in front of my lens.
I’m a twit, I have a rather childish sense of humour as a registered primary school teacher – I can make people laugh just existing.
I’m also a bit of a ‘toy nut’ I work with medium format cameras, virtual reality technology and even have a submarine if you’re keen on going for a swim? It’s always been my philosophy to provide the very best equipment to best capture a modern wedding.
My background, and most of the awards I’ve won in the past is in the Landscape and Science photography genres so I bring that mentality to a wedding day – I use your surrounds much more in my photography than others might.
I want to tell the story of the coming together of two unique personalities at the amazing venue you have chosen!

What we do
If you’re shopping around for a wedding photographer or videographer, you’ll notice that so many promise the world, offer deals, entice you with a perfectly curated portfolio, and then sign you up ASAP with a deposit.
And it works – it really does.
We’ve always tried to offer a more ‘human’ approach, which means we don’t book as many weddings as some, but our philosophy is all about quality over quantity.
In a nutshell
- My wife and I shoot each wedding we book we will be in attendance – not some outsourced ‘team’.
- We will absolutely be hiding in the bushes, or climbing cliffs to get the most out of the scene in front of us – anything for the shot.
- We will not be turning you into mannequins to take photos, we much prefer capturing a moment as you’re actually doing something – like walking hand in hand, or walking drunk down a hallway.
- We want to document your day, not dictate what happens
