Glen Ewin Pulpshed Wedding – Carol & Ash

Oh wow, Carol and Ash’s Glen Ewin Pulpshed wedding was just incredible – beautiful weather, stunning people in an amazing location, just made the entire process of taking stunning wedding photos that much easier and fun!

I had been to the Pulpshed in the past to cover a wedding, but I had been looking forward to Carol and Ash’s for quite a while as it had been about 10 years since I was last down here. Plenty of times up at the gatehouse – but not the Pulpshed!

Ash’s Preparation

Ash and his groomsmen were preparaed at a nearby friend’s house. The first thing anyone would have noticed was the pristine red porche parked out the front of the house! Certainly drew the eye!

I arrived and was surprised to see that everyone had already put all their suits on! Pretty much ready to get going, which was ok as we diddnt have much time anyway, but was certainly a little different to most weddings where I’m often meeting the boys just rolling out of bed from a big night out. 🙂

For preparation photos we put the finishing touches on, like throwing on the suit jackets, helped each other with ties, and then of course played pool and took a few shots with the Porches out front.

Carol’s Preparation

Carol and her bridal party were getting ready at the family house, closer to Glen Ewin. Ash had warned me about how awesome their garden was, and it was certainly pretty awesome! There was a creek running through the garden, full of running water due to the recent rains, complete with a little footbrdge that connected one half of the garden with another.

Made for a pretty neat spot for bridal party shots and a first look with Dad, who hammed it up nicely!

Glen Ewin Pulpshed Wedding Ceremony

I had been looking forward to covering Carol and Ash’s Glen Ewin Pulpshed wedding ceremony for a while as there is this amazing pond and stone jetty leading out to a huge weeping willow tree that is usually used as a backdrop for ceremonies – however unfortunately due to the recent weather it was deemed too muddy for the congregation to use, so the ceremony was set up under the Pulpshed’s veranda.

The veranda space is adorned by vines and decorated with wooden features like wine barrels, and also of course allowed all their guests to be undercover in case of rain – which wasn’t likely on their day. It’s a nice space, but the only issue I have with it is that it’s impossible to get around the left hand side of the congregation in order to get a grinning photo of the groom looking at his bride.

Carol and her bridesmaids arrived in style riding in two volkswagon kombis, which suited the theme and aethetic of the wedding beautifully, and the ceremony took place with lots of laughter, tears and heartfelt tributes to the children who were now a part of a new family unit. It was lovely.

After the group shots and the drone big group shot, we walked about the stunning gardens a bit to make use of the awesome pond and stone jetty which I mentioned before. The greens in the  trees were super lush due to the recent weather and just made evrything such a delight to walk through!

We also made sure .to use the Kombis in a few group shots with Carol and Ash’s bridal party before they left.

The main downside was unfortunately Ash managed to draw the ire of an angry bee while out and about taking photos, got a bit of a bee stong – but all seemed well!

Glen Ewin Pulpshed Wedding Reception

The wedding reception took place in the Pulpshed, complete with my photobooth running in the corner, and everyone having a great time in this stunning setting!

I was only asked to take photos for 6 hours, but as I was thewre with the photobooth anyway, I had to take some shot of the first dance and the other events, 🙂

Norwood’s St Ignatius Catholic Church Wedding – Alison & Matthew

Alison and Matthew’s St Ignatius Catholic Church Wedding in Norwood took place on a day which weather diddn’t really know what was going on – we managed to avoid the rain though so huge success there!

Their day was full of fun, romance and family and friends there to watch this lovely couple get married!

Preparation

Matthew and his groomsmen got prepared in a nice house overlooking the beach near Hallett Cove. The house featured high ceilings with very minimal wall coverings which made for a delightful spot for groom preparation,m especially since their shirt and suit choices suited the house nicely.

Matthew was running a little late in the morning, after having running about with some last minute details, but we still managed to get some shots of the boys helping him get ready ad  walk down to the cliff side for some shots with the water in the background.

Alison was being prepared with her bridal party and family at a bed and breakfast in Mile End. It was a delightful little cottage-style house with a beautiful hallway which I used to good effect!

After the bridal party had finished fussing about with Alison’s dress, we did a quick ‘first look’ with Alison’s family when whisked away quickly to the church in Norwood.

St Ignatius Catholic Church Wedding Ceremony

A St Ignatius Catholic Church wedding is something to behold! The church, nestled away in the backstreets of Norwood boasts an impressive front door, and a three-pronged interior which allows for some pretty impressive wide shots from the upper level.

Alison arrived in her white car motorcade, and was escorted down the long aisle by her father. A fun thing about Alison and Matthew’s bridal entrance was that the groomsmen walked down the aisle halfway to meet the bridesmaids as they entered – which I thought was nice.

Another delightful little piece of family history was that this was the 4th St Ignatius Catholic Church wedding in Alison’s family going back generations!

Unfortunately the Catholic church ceremony took a little longer than Alison and Matthew had expected, so we had to rush through the family photos a bit out the front of the church before heading out for glamour photos.

We had to make a quick stop at the Torrens Arms Hotel in Kingwood in order to have a quick champagne as this was where Alison and Mtthew had first met and celebrate their anniversary at each year, and then the original plan was to head to the Himeji Gardens first, and then Veale Gardens for glamour photos, but as time was getting away from us we simply head straight to Veale Gardens.

Next Gen Wedding Reception

Alison and Matthew’s wedding reception took place right next to the Adelaide Oval in the Next Gen Health and Lifestyle clubs, where they also have a delightful function room overlooking the Torrens river.

That night there was also a sporting event on next door, and the Oz Asia festival set up on the grass out front, so it all felt very exclusive having the whole road blocked off for what seemed like the guests of this very exclusive wedding reception!

Alisona dn Matthew had my photobooth set up and running all night, and heartfelt speeches flowed beautifully. The whole night was very wholesome and delightful to be a part of!

Fountain Valley Reserve Family Shoot – Shaw Family

It was that time of year again where I get to head out for a bit of a Family Photoshoot with the Shaw Family! This time we head out to the lovely little Fountain Valley Reserve, just off South Road in Happy Valley.

It’s fun that Miranda and Jake shooce to head to different spots each year to get a bit of variety in their yearly family photos! Last year we were in a pine forest, and the time prior, another small park in Happy Valley.

This time their choice was the Fountain Valley reserve which at this time of year boasts a bubbling brook streaming through some delightful weeping willows and lots of long, lush grass. I had a lot of fun at their Fountain valley Reserve Family Shoot! The light in the morning was beautiful combined with the natural beauty of the place made my job pretty simple!

Adelaide Marriages Registration Office Wedding – Skye & Lachlan

Skye and Lachlan held a simple, private ceremony with their two sets of parents at the Adelaide Births and Marriage registration office in the Adelaide CBD . The great thing about a Adelaide Marriages Registration office wedding is that  the ceremony is short, sharp and shiny, whithout costing a huge amount – and yet you still get to take advantage of all the amazing photo spots around Adelaide!

Adelaide Marriages Registration Office Wedding Ceremony

I was surprised to arrive after Skye and her family had – as, as many people know – I tend to arrive far to early to my weddings sometimes, and that’s usually the case for me at the registry office also! All that wer were missing before the ceremony was Lachlan!

Skye and Lachlan’s ceremony was nice and short, with the usual fussing over signing the documents that the resident celebrant takes great pride in having fun doing so, before doing a few family photos and heading out to hit the town!

I suggested we first head over the road to the Adelaide Arcade, which is always a nice way to break up the green photo deluge that usually occurs if you plan on just using the Botanic Gardens for wedding photos.

We head up stairs to use the long, straight passage the ornate space offers, while also using the huge arch window that overlooks Grenfell street for a bit of a dance 🙂

After driving over oto the Adelaide Btanic gardens, we parked along Plane Tree drive, which also allowed us to use the stunning trees in the adjacent Botanic Park. These moreton bay fig trees just have the most stunning roots which are easy to stand amongst and get some great shots!

As we had no bridal party to slow us down, we managed to use quite a bit of the Botanic gardens with a bit of a whirlwind tour, starting out by the friendship gates, zooming around to the famed Palm house, then the gardens in between, before finishing up in the Bicentennial Dome.

St Francis Winery Wedding – Sue & Roy

Sue and Roy held their St Francis Winery wedding on a delightful day surrounded by a small group of family and friends who are keen on celebrating their love as much as possible!

Sue and Roy held their ceremony on the St Francis WInery lawns shaded by the nearby trees, and had a delightful bagpiper set the atmosphere which I just loved!

Preparation

Roy was prepared in the dedicated Honeymoon suite at St Francis – it’s actually usually where every bride I’ve ever had for a wedding at St Francis Winery has got ready!

He was helped by his two groomsmen and also their little page boy who was running about with the flower girl inbetween rooms.

Sue was prepared with her bridal party in another room accross the courtyard. We had to rearrange the furniture a little in order to make enough space to take some photos – but it all worked out in the end! I think we used the balcony walkway more than inside.

St Francis Winery Wedding Ceremony

Sue and Roy’s St Francis Winery wedding ceremony way orientated so that the large gum trees lining the grassy area nearby the pond was in the backdrop, rather than having the wishing well, and pond there. This allowed for all their guests to enjoy the shade afforded by the tree and also helps to shield their ceremony from cars coming down South Road.

Sue arrived flanked by their bagpiper, and Roy was all smiles throughout. During the ceremony there was a few readings, and Sue and Roy held their own personal vows – but overall it was a sweet, simple ceremony which allowed for more time with family and friends.

After the group shots, where the resident magpie finally managed to hit my drone with one of it’s dive bombing poops, we made use of some of the nearby features of the historic St Francis winery. We diddnt move too far away from the ceremony location using only the tree and rotten barrels around the side of the building and some of the nearby bushgs and trees.

We also head off for a short stint behind the nearby bus terminal where a portion of the old railway is accessible as a walking trail and makes for a rather nice scene.

One thing that was super unique about Sue and Roy’s St Francis WInery wedding was that they held their little reception not ion the usual place, but in the restaurant portion of the resort! Made the feeling that much more intimate!
