Veale Gardens Engagement Shoot – Louise & Cody

Our day started early, with the soft morning light providing a gentle backdrop to our adventure. The air was crisp, and excitement was palpable as Louise, Cody, and their close family arrived, their adorable fur baby in tow. We initiated our journey behind the Pavilion Restaurant, an area where the quintessential Australian landscape comes alive. The air was filled with excitement as we made our way to the Himeji Gardens, a spot that’s a photographer’s dream with its lush landscapes and vibrant colors.

The atmosphere was buzzing with anticipation. Lindsey and Jaden, a couple who radiate joy and love, were the epitome of relaxed elegance. It was evident from the get-go that their wedding was going to be anything but ordinary. They had a vision of a day filled with laughter, love, and a fair share of fun surprises.

Himeji Gardens Pre-Ceremony Shoot

Before the ceremony, we ventured to the serene Himeji Gardens. This peaceful haven in the heart of Adelaide was the perfect contrast to the day’s excitement. Our pre-ceremony shoot here was not just about capturing beautiful images but also about embracing the calm before the storm of festivities. The Himeji Gardens, with its tranquil ponds and meticulously maintained landscapes, provided a stunning backdrop for Lindsey and Jaden’s first look. Although they had seen each other’s wedding attire during their Belair National Park engagement shoot, the moment was still filled with emotion and beauty.

Walking through the gardens, we found countless perfect spots for photos. The towering gum trees and the picturesque rock pool added an authentic Adelaide touch to each image. Veale Gardens Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony, held at rock pool 6 in Veale Gardens, was a stone’s throw away from where we were the previous week for another wedding. The setting was intimate and beautifully adorned, creating a magical atmosphere. The slight hiccup with a family gathering at the venue was quickly resolved, showcasing the couple’s calm and collected nature. As Lindsey walked down the aisle, the air was thick with emotion. Their vows were heartfelt, leaving not a single dry eye among the guests.

Their celebrant did an exceptional job, not only in conducting the ceremony but also in making sure Lindsey and Jaden were fully aware of the beautiful commitment they were making to each other. It was a ceremony that truly reflected their personalities – genuine, full of love, and deeply emotional.

Adelaide Pavilion Wedding Reception

The reception at the Adelaide Pavilion was a continuation of the day’s joyous spirit. The venue’s elegance perfectly complemented the laid-back yet festive atmosphere of the evening. Lindsey and Jaden prioritized capturing memories with their guests, many of whom had traveled from afar. This wasn’t just a celebration of their love but also a reunion of friends and family.

Speeches were a mix of laughter and tears, echoing the depth of the relationships shared. Jaden’s impromptu serenade to Lindsey was not only a highlight of the evening but a testament to their fun-loving spirit. Sunshine and smiles were in abundance at the Veale Garden wedding of Warunika and Nick. Located just a stone’s throw south of Adelaide’s bustling CBD, this idyllic spot was the perfect canvas for their mid-December nuptials. As an Adelaide photographer, I’ve witnessed a myriad of weddings, but this one truly stood out with its heartfelt moments and vibrant settings.

The Veale Garden, with its lush greenery and serene ambience, offered a picturesque backdrop for Warunika and Nick’s special day. Their choice of this venue highlighted their love for nature and the outdoors, perfectly complementing their personalities. It was a joy capturing the natural beauty and the genuine emotions that flowed throughout the day in this stunning Adelaide locale.

Preparation

The morning of the wedding found Nick in high spirits, surrounded by his nearest and dearest. His preparation was a blend of excitement and calm – a true reflection of his character. Veale Garden Wedding Ceremony

The Veale Garden wedding ceremony was nothing short of magical. Set behind the enchanting Rock Pool 7, the location was chosen for its beautiful lighting and seclusion. This thoughtful selection paid off, as the sun cast a warm, gentle glow on the couple, avoiding the patchy light often seen at other spots in the gardens. It was a photographer’s dream come true.

Warunika’s entrance was a sight to behold – she arrived in style in a pristine white wedding car, adding a touch of elegance to the already beautiful setting. Their ceremony was an intimate affair, with heartfelt vows and a moving reading by a close friend. Capturing these emotional exchanges against the backdrop of Veale Garden’s natural beauty was a privilege.

Glamour Photos

Post-ceremony, the excitement continued as we dashed off to North Terrace for the glamour shots. Warunika and Nick, looking absolutely stunning, posed against the grandeur of Bonython Hall and the architectural marvels of the area. Time was of the essence, as we needed to maximize their moments with the wedding car.

The bridal party soon joined us, having traveled by bus. The energy and joy they brought were palpable, adding a fun and lively dimension to the photoshoot. Strolling along North Terrace, we captured a variety of shots, each reflecting the couple’s love and the architectural beauty of Adelaide. These images are not just photographs; they’re timeless memories that Warunika and Nick will cherish forever.

Adelaide Pavilion Reception

As the evening unfolded, the Adelaide Pavilion welcomed guests with its charm. Here, the reception commenced with a delightful blend of cultures, marked by the lighting of an oil lantern by important guests. This symbolic gesture set the tone for an evening filled with warmth and unity.

An unexpected mishap with the three-tiered wedding cake occurred before the reception, but it did little to dampen the spirits of Warunika and Nick. Their resilience and positive attitude were inspiring. The evening continued with heartfelt speeches, a touching slideshow of their smaller wedding back home, and the enchanting first dance followed by a father-daughter dance. The energy on the dance floor was infectious, with colorful streamers wrapping the couple in a cocoon of joy, and children gleefully joining in the festivities.

The night culminated in a spectacular sparkler send-off, a fitting end to a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Himeji Gardens

The Himeji Gardens, our first stop, offered a tranquil and historically rich backdrop. These gardens, inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, are a testament to Adelaide’s cultural diversity and its embrace of international beauty. As the afternoon sun danced through the leaves, Stacey and Jacob’s connection illuminated every frame. Moving on to the Veale Gardens, the atmosphere shifted to a more distinctly Adelaide vibe. As we meandered through the winding paths, Stacey and Jacob’s interactions were effortlessly framed by the diverse flora. The gardens, with their lush greenery and seasonal blooms, created an enchanting setting that resonated with the couple’s lively spirits.

The Veale Gardens, with their perfect blend of nature and urban charm, epitomize the essence of Adelaide’s outdoor appeal. Norwood’s St Ignatius Catholic Church Wedding – Alison & Matthew

Alison and Matthew’s St Ignatius Catholic Church Wedding in Norwood took place on a day which weather diddn’t really know what was going on – we managed to avoid the rain though so huge success there!

Their day was full of fun, romance and family and friends there to watch this lovely couple get married!

Preparation

Matthew and his groomsmen got prepared in a nice house overlooking the beach near Hallett Cove. The house featured high ceilings with very minimal wall coverings which made for a delightful spot for groom preparation,m especially since their shirt and suit choices suited the house nicely.

Matthew was running a little late in the morning, after having running about with some last minute details, but we still managed to get some shots of the boys helping him get ready ad  walk down to the cliff side for some shots with the water in the background.

Alison was being prepared with her bridal party and family at a bed and breakfast in Mile End. It was a delightful little cottage-style house with a beautiful hallway which I used to good effect!

After the bridal party had finished fussing about with Alison’s dress, we did a quick ‘first look’ with Alison’s family when whisked away quickly to the church in Norwood.

St Ignatius Catholic Church Wedding Ceremony

A St Ignatius Catholic Church wedding is something to behold! The church, nestled away in the backstreets of Norwood boasts an impressive front door, and a three-pronged interior which allows for some pretty impressive wide shots from the upper level.

Alison arrived in her white car motorcade, and was escorted down the long aisle by her father. A fun thing about Alison and Matthew’s bridal entrance was that the groomsmen walked down the aisle halfway to meet the bridesmaids as they entered – which I thought was nice.

Another delightful little piece of family history was that this was the 4th St Ignatius Catholic Church wedding in Alison’s family going back generations!

Glamour Photos

Unfortunately the Catholic church ceremony took a little longer than Alison and Matthew had expected, so we had to rush through the family photos a bit out the front of the church before heading out for glamour photos.

We had to make a quick stop at the Torrens Arms Hotel in Kingwood in order to have a quick champagne as this was where Alison and Mtthew had first met and celebrate their anniversary at each year, and then the original plan was to head to the Himeji Gardens first, and then Veale Gardens for glamour photos, but as time was getting away from us we simply head straight to Veale Gardens.

Next Gen Wedding Reception

Alison and Matthew’s wedding reception took place right next to the Adelaide Oval in the Next Gen Health and Lifestyle clubs, where they also have a delightful function room overlooking the Torrens river.

That night there was also a sporting event on next door, and the Oz Asia festival set up on the grass out front, so it all felt very exclusive having the whole road blocked off for what seemed like the guests of this very exclusive wedding reception!

Alisona dn Matthew had my photobooth set up and running all night, and heartfelt speeches flowed beautifully. The whole night was very wholesome and delightful to be a part of!
