THE HOUSE ON HAINES
The House on Haines, situated at the Adelaide foothills, seamlessly blends sophistication and elegance with a modern interpretation of an event space. Its design focuses on maximizing natural light with floor-to-ceiling windows that offer breathtaking views of the beautifully manicured grounds, complete with Maple and Magnolia trees, rolling lawns, and two fire pits that provide charming ceremony and reception settings.
Tony Zappia, the Project Director at Studio Nine Architects, explains that the building’s location – hence it’s name sake ‘House on Haines (road)‘ – was crucial in harnessing the surrounding picturesque landscape and views. The venue is designed to create a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing guests to enjoy an extension of the inside space while outside.
The function room boasts a vaulted ceiling lined with locally sourced reclaimed timber that complements a 7-metre stone wall on one end and an adjacent 7-metre stone wall fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere amid contemporary finishes. Guests can enjoy the two-way wood fireplace, which adds to the welcoming ambiance of the space, and can be enjoyed both internally and externally from the Terrace. The two feature fire pits also encourage the use of the grounds year-round.
The venue’s luxurious feel is enhanced by brass finishes throughout, including custom door handles, impressive bathrooms, and stylish bar designs, all of which add to the intangible charm and elegance of this venue.
