The Currant Shed

The Currant Shed is located on the back roads of McLaren Flat, just a short drive from McLaren Vale. This charming wedding venue is a delightful restaurant with a rustic yet modern design, covered in vines and surrounded by fruit trees on one side and vineyards on the other, courtesy of the nearby Shottesbrooke Winery.

For wedding ceremonies, couples can choose to exchange vows amongst the fruit trees and grassy area, facing North East towards the gum trees in the far background. This positioning allows for the sun to be to the left of the congregation for an afternoon ceremony, making it an ideal setting for outdoor weddings.

As a McLaren Vale wedding photographer, I find the Currant Shed to be an exceptional venue for capturing beautiful and memorable wedding photos. The rustic charm of the venue combined with the surrounding vineyards and Australian trees creates a stunning backdrop for wedding photography. The pathway leading to the nearby Shottesbrooke Winery also offers a wonderful opportunity for photos.

For guests who wish to stay overnight, there is an on-site bed and breakfast that offers a cozy and comfortable retreat. The B&B features two rooms with king-size beds, en suite bathrooms, and private entrances.

This is a wonderful venue for couples seeking a rustic and romantic wedding setting. The picturesque scenery, combined with the charming architecture of the venue, provides an ideal canvas for creating the perfect wedding day.
