The Manor Wedding in Basket Range – Janine & Darryl
Janine and Darryl’s wedding day was nothing short of magical, even with the unpredictable weather! They chose The Manor in Basket Range, one of the most enchanting venues in the Adelaide Hills. The day was filled with love, laughter, and a dash of spontaneity. You’d never know it was raining for most of the day, given how well we dodged the weather. The Manor’s grand architecture, lush surroundings, and whimsical ambiance created a perfect backdrop for their big day.
What stood out most about Janine and Darryl’s wedding was their personal touch. From the board game dice decorating the reception tables to the playfulness of the day, it felt like I had stepped into a vibrant world full of laughter and joy. I couldn’t help but feel like at any moment, a spontaneous game of Dungeons and Dragons would break out! Their attention to detail truly made this wedding unique, reflecting their personalities and passions beautifully.
Preparation
The day kicked off with Darryl and his groomsmen, who were in high spirits from the start. Getting ready in a room on the far side of The Manor, the guys were full of energy, cracking jokes and even posing shirtless for a few fun shots. The playful atmosphere made for some great candid moments, but keeping Darryl from sneaking a peek at Janine before the ceremony added a layer of excitement. With their suits on and laughter in the air, the boys were more than ready for the big day ahead.

Meanwhile, Janine and her bridal party were getting ready in one of The Manor’s charming rooms, filling the space with laughter and joy. The morning was a mix of excitement and calm, with Janine beaming as she admired her gown hanging on display. The Juliet balcony, with its romantic allure, became the perfect spot for some intimate pre-wedding moments. Surrounded by her bridesmaids, Janine soaked in every moment of the day, and with each step closer to the ceremony, the anticipation built beautifully.

The Manor Wedding Ceremony
The Manor wedding ceremony was a dream come true, even with a sprinkling of rain just as things got started. The drizzle only added to the atmosphere, and as it lightened up, the magic of the moment took over. The couple’s children brought an extra layer of cuteness to the ceremony, eager for cuddles from Mum and Dad as they exchanged vows. Watching them sneak in for hugs between Janine and Darryl’s legs was heart-melting. It was those little moments that made the day feel so personal and intimate.
As Janine and Darryl walked down the aisle as newlyweds, they were showered in a sea of bubbles – a fun and unique twist on the traditional confetti toss. After the ceremony, it was time for the glamour photos, and The Manor’s sprawling grounds always provides the perfect playground. Despite the rain turning into a fine mist, it only enhanced the photos, creating a soft glow in the images. The raindrops on the leaves and stone walls reflected the ambient light, making everything look like it was kissed by magic.
One of the standout moments was when we captured Janine and Darryl in front of the main keep, their silhouettes illuminated against the moody sky. With the help of a very enthusiastic friend holding smoke cans, we created some stunningly dramatic shots that were both romantic and ethereal.

The Manor Wedding Reception
Their Manor wedding reception was nothing short of a full-on celebration! Set against the cozy, rustic backdrop of The Manor’s grand hall, the room was buzzing with energy. Janine and Darryl’s unique sense of style continued to shine through at the reception with fun décor touches like the board game dice scattered throughout the tables. It brought a playful element to the evening, and for a moment, I half-expected a spontaneous game of Dungeons and Dragons to break out!
The photobooth was also a big hit, with guests lining up to snap some hilarious keepsakes. The laughter never stopped, especially during the kids’ musical chairs game – which was as chaotic as it was adorable! For the adults, there was a spirited treasure hunt, which kept the guests on their toes. And then, of course, the dance floor – it was packed all night long! Janine and Darryl’s friends and family really knew how to party. The live band kept the energy high, and by the end of the night, everyone was on their feet, dancing under the twinkling lights.
