Set against the picturesque backdrop of Moseley Square in Glenelg, Jess and Tim’s Stamford Grand Wedding was nothing short of magical. The sun-drenched balcony of the Stamford Grand offered a breathtaking view, setting a radiant stage for this lovely couple to exchange vows.

The charm of Glenelg, with its vibrant atmosphere and stunning beachfront, complemented the elegance of Stamford Grand perfectly. As a photographer, capturing the essence of this location, intertwined with Jess and Tim’s story, was an exhilarating experience. Their choice of venue reflected their love for Adelaide’s unique beauty, and as their wedding photographer, I aimed to encapsulate every moment with the same authenticity and love.

Preparation

The day began with Tim and his groomsmen at the Grand’s Horizons Cocktail Lounge, a space that exuded a classic, antique charm. As Tim readied himself for the day ahead, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement. The groom and his party, looking dapper in their suits, were a picture of elegance against the lounge’s sophisticated backdrop.

We ventured outside, exploring the quaint streets of Glenelg. The blend of urban and seaside elements made for some stunning photographs. Capturing Tim and his groomsmen against diverse backdrops, from the bustling Moseley Square to the serene Glenelg Jetty, added a dynamic and vibrant touch to their photo session.

Jess was preparing in a room at the Stamford Grand, with panoramic views of the jetty. The room’s airy spaces and natural light provided the perfect setting for some beautiful portraits. The excitement in the room was palpable, as Jess and her bridesmaids shared laughs and heartfelt moments.

As an Adelaide photographer, I always look for unique elements to incorporate into my photos. The room’s elegant décor and the stunning view of the Glenelg beachfront offered just that. Stamford Grand Wedding Ceremony

The balcony ceremony at Stamford Grand was a scene right out of a fairy tale. Overlooking Moseley Square, the sunlit setting created an ethereal atmosphere. Despite a brief concern about a lively group in the Grand Bar, the Stamford staff skillfully managed the situation, ensuring a serene and intimate ceremony.

The ceremony was a testament to Jess and Tim’s love, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The sun’s rays, casting a golden glow over the couple as they said their vows, made for some truly enchanting photographs. The joy and love shared on that balcony were immeasurable, and as their photographer, capturing these heartfelt moments was incredibly fulfilling.

Glamour Photos

Post-ceremony, we utilized the grand staircase at the center of the hotel for some stunning group shots. The staircase, with its opulent design, added a touch of grandeur to these photographs. We revisited the Horizons Cocktail Bar for more intimate couple shots, making the most of its vintage charm.

The beach and various scenic spots along the Glenelg foreshore served as our canvas for the glamour photos. Jess and Tim, against the backdrop of the sun setting over the ocean, created a breathtakingly romantic scene. Every location around Glenelg offered a unique element, adding depth and diversity to their wedding album.

Seafire Wedding Reception

The day’s celebrations continued at the Seafire restaurant. Although my time there was brief, the ambiance of the reception was lively and joyous. Capturing Jess and Tim cutting their cake was a highlight, as their smiles and laughter were infectious. The couple’s excitement for their upcoming ‘wreck the dress’ shoot the following day was evident, and their energy was a photographer’s dream.

Oh, the magic of West Beach in Adelaide! It’s a place where the golden sands meet the endless blue skies, creating a perfect backdrop for romance. This is exactly why Micaela and David, a gorgeous couple whose love story is as enchanting as the setting, chose this spot for their engagement shoot.

Their story adds an extra layer of warmth to the shoot. A thoughtful friend from Singapore, who sadly can’t make it to their Adelaide wedding, gifted them this engagement session. West Beach Engagement in the Sand Dunes

West Beach is not just any beach; it’s a treasure trove of natural beauty, and its recently rejuvenated sand dunes are a testament to that. These man-made marvels provided the perfect setting for Micaela and David’s engagement shoot. Botanic Gardens Palm House Wedding – Kelly & David

As an Adelaide photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing many beautiful weddings, and Kelly and David’s Palm House wedding at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens was a dream come true. Nestled under a majestic gum tree in the northern part of the gardens, their ceremony space was nothing short of enchanting. The sun graced us with its presence, bathing the entire area in a warm, golden light. Thankfully, Kelly and David had thoughtfully arranged large umbrellas to shield their guests from the sun’s intensity, adding a touch of elegance and comfort to the setting.

David’s anticipation was almost palpable as he waited for Kelly, his eyes occasionally darting towards the white carpet (a color he was initially unsure of, but which turned out to be perfect!). Glamour Photos

Post-ceremony, the bridal party and I embarked on an exploratory photo session around the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The gardens, with their diverse landscapes and stunning backdrops, provided the perfect canvas for our glamour shots. We journeyed through lush greenery, pausing at picturesque spots to capture the essence of the day. The light was soft and flattering, ideal for highlighting Kelly’s radiant beauty and the couple’s palpable love.

As the day progressed, the air grew slightly cooler, bringing a refreshing change to the atmosphere. The day’s festivities continued at The Lion Hotel, where Kelly and David had planned their reception. Situated in the heart of North Adelaide, The Lion Hotel boasts a unique charm, blending historical elegance with a modern twist. The cellar, where the reception was held, provided a cozy and intimate setting. Its rustic ambience was the perfect backdrop for the evening’s celebrations, creating an atmosphere of warmth and familiarity.

Botanic Gardens Glamour Photos

Following the ceremony, we embarked on what I like to call a ‘whirlwind photography tour’ around the Botanic Gardens. With only two hours to capture the essence of Ayla and Drew’s wedding day, we strolled through the verdant landscapes, finding picture-perfect spots at every turn. The gardens, with their diverse flora and beautifully landscaped areas, provided a stunning backdrop for our glamour photoshoot.

The challenge of the day was working around the ongoing Illuminate Adelaide festival. The presence of black boxes scattered throughout the gardens required a bit of creative photography and some post-production magic. However, this didn’t deter us from capturing the beauty and romance of the day. The photos turned out spectacular, each one telling a story of love, joy, and the enchanting setting of the Botanic Gardens.

The Himeji Gardens, our first stop, offered a tranquil and historically rich backdrop. These gardens, inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics, are a testament to Adelaide’s cultural diversity and its embrace of international beauty. As the afternoon sun danced through the leaves, Stacey and Jacob’s connection illuminated every frame.
