Coromandel Valley Wedding – Simone & Marty

Simone and Marty’s Coromandel Valley wedding was an absolute delight, filled with love, laughter, and the kind of relaxed charm that perfectly suited this lovely coouple. The sun graced the day with its warm glow, illuminating every moment shared between these two wonderful people. Their venue, the serene Sturt Valley Linear Park, was the ideal backdrop for a celebration that felt more like an intimate gathering among close friends and family than a traditional wedding.

I’ve known Simone since I was very young. She was my families go-to masseuse for years and one of the first supporters of my photography journey. I still remember her purchasing one of my prints from Japan. Seeing her on her wedding day, glowing with happiness, was a special full-circle moment. My Mum still keeps in touch with Simone, making this wedding feel like a reunion of sorts.

Preparation

Marty started his big day in a truly unique setting—his boxing club. It’s not every day you see a groom slipping on cufflinks next to punching bags, but this setting felt so authentically him. The space was brimming with energy, and we had a great time snapping some playful shots inside the ring. Marty and his groomsmen embraced the fun with matching hats that added a touch of flair to their outfits.

The boxing club’s gritty charm added contrast to the elegance of the day. Candid moments of laughter mixed with a few serious portraits made for a memorable session. It was clear that Marty’s friends shared his sense of humor and camaraderie, and those emotions came through in every frame.

Simone’s preparation was lovely and laid back. She and her bridesmaids got ready on the back deck of a friend’s house, bathed in the sun. Her dress, a masterpiece of delicate details, hung among the trees across the road for some dreamy pre-wedding photos.

The bridal party ventured to a nearby canopy of trees for group photos, where the dappled sunlight added an ethereal glow to the images. Simone’s joyful spirit was contagious, and her bridesmaids matched her energy with laughter and excitement. The arrival of the limo, slightly too big for the quaint side street we were heading to for the cermeony, only added to the fun.

Coromandel Valley Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place in a charming public BBQ area of Sturt Valley Linear Park. A circular floral arbor stood proudly by a bubbling creek, creating a picturesque and intimate setting for Simone and Marty to exchange their heartfelt vows. Guests gathered under the shade of tall trees, enjoying the tranquil sounds of nature.

The simplicity of the ceremony was its strength. With genuine emotions and heartfelt promises, Simone and Marty held everyone’s attention. Following the ceremony, a nearby marquee offered a smorgasbord of delicious food, with guests mingling, laughing, and soaking up the laid-back picnic-like atmosphere.

The reception was a reflection of Simone and Marty’s easygoing personalities. Guests spread out on the grass, children played lawn games, and the aroma of awesome food wafted through the air. It felt like a community picnic—a celebration of love where everyone was part of the story.

It was clear how much Simone’s community means to her, and this moment added a personal, unforgettable touch to the day.

Thorngrove Manor Glamour Shoot

As the afternoon faded, the newlyweds and I headed to the enchanting Thorngrove Manor. This hidden gem is a photographer’s dream, with its whimsical architecture, manicured gardens, and regal charm. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Simone and Marty glowed in the golden light, their love as radiant as the scenery.

Thorngrove Manor offered a perfect contrast to the relaxed vibe of the earlier celebrations. Its opulent ambiance provided a fairy-tale ending to the day. The photos we captured there are some of my favorites, filled with elegance, intimacy, and the magic of a new beginning.

Ellie and Tom’s Alru wedding was an unforgettable celebration filled with love, laughter, and the beauty of a perfectly planned day. Set in the idyllic South Australian countryside, the venue offered a picturesque setting that felt like it was made for moments like these. From the stunning gardens to the charming pavilion, Alru Farm was the ideal backdrop for every chapter of Ellie and Tom’s story.

The weather played along beautifully, creating soft, golden light that highlighted the vibrant gardens and natural beauty of the farm. Surrounded by the people they love most, Ellie and Tom embraced every moment with joy, making this day one to remember for everyone who attended.

Preparation

Ellie and Tom began their wedding day in the delightful Garden Pavilion at Alru Farm. Deciding to get ready together was a meaningful choice, creating a calm and heartfelt start to the day. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as they shared smiles and enjoyed the peaceful morning surrounded by the lush greenery outside.

While Tom and his father used the pavillion, we also head over to the Australia Suite, Ellie and her bridal party stayed in the pavilion. As Ellie stepped into her elegant wedding dress, the energy shifted into a quiet sense of anticipation. Her helpers buzzed around, making sure every detail was perfect. The setting provided wonderful opportunities to capture these moments, from the light streaming through the windows to the charming décor of the space.

First Look

Their first look took place in one of Alru Farm’s most enchanting spots—a grassy area framed by a tunnel of wisteria (at least I think it’s wisteria, I’m not a botanist). The walk leading up to Tom was as romantic as it was emotional, with Ellie moving gracefully under the cascading blooms.

Tom’s reaction said it all. His smile lit up the space as he turned to see Ellie for the first time in her dress. The moment was filled with pure emotion, creating a memory that will forever be etched in their hearts. After a few minutes to soak it all in, we captured some intimate portraits surrounded by the vivid flowers blooming nearby.

Alru Wedding Ceremony

Ellie and Tom’s Alru wedding ceremony was held near the tranquil pond, a location that feels like a scene from a fairytale. With Roman-style pillars adding a timeless elegance, this spot is a favorite for couples looking for something unique. The sunlight filtered perfectly through the trees, backlighting the couple while guests enjoyed the ceremony in the shaded garden.

The ceremony was heartfelt and deeply personal, with vows that reflected Ellie and Tom’s journey together. Surrounded by nature and their loved ones, the moment was as beautiful as the setting itself. Following the ceremony, guests mingled on the farmhouse lawns, enjoying drinks and laughter as the couple soaked in the warm congratulations from everyone.

Glamour Photos

Alru Farm’s expansive grounds were a photographer’s paradise, offering an array of stunning locations to capture Ellie and Tom’s special day. The manicured gardens, bursting with vibrant flowers, provided a romantic and colorful backdrop for their portraits. The winding driveway, framed by towering trees, added a dramatic and timeless element to the photos. Every corner of Alru Farm seemed to tell its own story, lending unique character to each shot.

Ellie and Tom were a dream to photograph. Their natural chemistry and genuine love for each other radiated in every frame, making my job an absolute joy. Whether they were stealing a quiet moment together under the canopy of trees or sharing a laugh surrounded by blooming flowers, their connection was unmistakable.

As the sun began its descent, the golden hour draped the property in a warm, ethereal glow. This soft light illuminated the gardens, casting long, gentle shadows that added depth and richness to the images. We basically ran to the long grass out the front of the property as I knew the sun was fading fast, but we managed to get some great shots. The soft pastel hues of the setting sun created a magical atmosphere, turning an already beautiful scene into something truly extraordinary.

Alru Wedding Reception

The reception was held in Alru Farm’s beautifully designed event space, where every detail reflected Ellie and Tom’s style. The atmosphere was lively and warm, with fairy lights twinkling above and an ice cream cart providing a fun treat for guests.

Between speeches, dancing, and a joyful photo rush to include everyone, the evening was filled with laughter and celebration. As the festivities continued, we stepped out for one last photo opportunity—a stunning Milky Way shot with the iconic Alru Farm lighthouse in the foreground. It was the perfect way to end a day filled with unforgettable moments.

Glamour Photos

After the ceremony, we explored the breathtaking grounds of Al Ru Farm for their glamour photos. We started near the Roman-style columns by the pond, where the bridal party gathered for playful yet elegant shots. From there, we ventured into the garden pathways, using the rich foliage and vibrant blooms as a backdrop for intimate portraits of the couple.

As the evening progressed, we captured some incredible moments along the farm’s iconic driveway and near the greenhouse. Though clouds obscured the sunset, the starry night sky later provided a dramatic setting for a few final photos. Al Ru Farm weddings always offer unique photographic opportunities, and this one was no exception. The natural beauty of the venue added a touch of magic to every shot.

Al Ru Farm Wedding Reception

The reception was held in Al Ru Farm’s rustic barn, where twinkling lights and floral arrangements created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Speeches filled the room with laughter and tears as family and friends shared stories and blessings for the newlyweds. One of the evening’s highlights was the traditional chair dance, a spirited and joyful moment that had everyone on their feet. Even a slight mishap—Shilsha ending up on the floor during the first attempt—added to the fun and made for a memorable story.

The night was a lively celebration, with dancing, great food, and plenty of smiles. Later in the evening, we snuck out to capture some night portraits by the greenhouse, with the stars above adding a touch of magic. After wrapping up the photoshoot, everyone headed to The Village Hotel for the cocktail-style reception.
