The day started at Etienne’s parent’s, where excitement was palpable. This serene setting provided the perfect backdrop for capturing the moments of camaraderie as the boys helped each other get ready. With Mum and Dad watching on and helping out with pride, there were countless candid moments that showcased the bond and love within the family.

Etienne’s preparation was not just about getting dressed; it was a celebration of friendships and family ties. After the indoor shots, we took a short walk to a nearby park lined with neat rows of olive trees. This outdoor session allowed for some relaxed and natural photos of Etienne with his groomsmen, adding a touch of greenery and elegance to the album.

The transformation of the conservatory area from ceremony space to reception venue was seamless and impressive. Guests enjoyed a break at the bar while the room was prepared for the evening’s festivities. Ever had one of those days where you can’t believe you get paid to have this much fun? Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a Bucks vs Hens Paintball Party at Monarto Delta Force Paintball Park, and wow, what an adventure it was! The chilly weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits; in fact, the excitement and adrenaline kept everyone warm. This pre-wedding event was all about blasting paintballs and having a blast, setting the stage for some epic wedding day memories.

The atmosphere was electric as the guys and girls gathered, each team ready to prove their mettle. First Game – Capture the Magical Jerry Can

The first game was like stepping into an action movie set. Like a scene straight out of Stargate, with two teams battling to capture the magical jerry can from the central pyramid. The objective was simple yet challenging: seize control of the jerry can and transport it to the opponent’s spawning location without getting shot. Easier said than done! Both attempts at this game ended in a stalemate, but not without some intense and hilarious moments.

The girls seemed to dominate possession of the jerry can during the matches, showcasing their strategic prowess. I felt like a wartime reporter, sneaking around to capture the action without becoming a target myself. The challenge was real, and despite my high-vis gear, I couldn’t avoid getting hit a few times. But those action-packed shots of paintballs flying, determined faces, and triumphant cheers made it all worth it. The energy was contagious, and the competitive spirit was infectious.

Second Game – Barrel Run

The second game kicked off with a thrilling twist. The bride, groom, best man and maid of honour had to run a gauntlet while their friends unleashed a barrage of paintballs at them. It was a sight to behold, filled with laughter and a few dramatic dodges. The groom, in his valiant attempt, managed to hurt himself slightly, but his spirit remained unbroken. This initial fun set the stage for the main event: a classic push-and-pull game with barrels scattered throughout the field.

The objective was straightforward: push the opposing team off the map. The barrels provided cover and obstacles, turning the game into a strategic battle of wits and agility. The intensity was palpable as both teams maneuvered, trying to outsmart and overpower each other. Tthe action was non-stop, and the opportunities for dynamic, engaging shots were endless. The moments of triumph, frustration, and sheer determination were beautifully captured, making this game a highlight of the day.

Third Game – Protect the President

The final game was my favourite. The playing field was an elaborate setup with wooden tanks and a real helicopter, creating an immersive and exciting environment. The storyline added an extra layer of excitement: a helicopter had crashed, and the tanks were attacking, with the goal being to plant a slab of TNT within the helicopter. Both teams were determined, and the stakes were high with the girls needing to win both games in order to catch up with the boys on points.

Watching the boys and girls strategize, execute their plans, and fight for victory was exhilarating. Each team had a turn at being the attackers and defenders, showcasing their teamwork and tactical skills. The expressions of concentration, the triumphant yells, and the victorious smiles were priceless. Capturing these moments, where the players were wholly engrossed in the game, provided some of the best shots of the day. It was the perfect culmination of an action-packed, joy-filled event.

Baby Joshua’s newborn photo shoot

There’s something magical about a newborn photo shoot, especially when it’s brimming with family love. Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming baby Joshua and his lovely family into my cozy home studio in Aberfoyle Park. It was a cold winter’s day, but the warmth and joy they brought with them made the chill outside seem like a distant memory. This session was particularly special, featuring Joshua’s two big sisters, his mum and dad, and both sets of doting grandparents.

From the moment they walked in, baby Joshua was a little superstar. His serene demeanor made the entire newborn photo shoot a breeze. Newborns can sometimes be a bit fussy, but Joshua was happy to have his photo taken, completely content throughout. His calm and peaceful nature truly shone in every shot, capturing his innocent charm and sweet personality.

Joshua’s family, with their beaming smiles and loving interactions, added an extra layer of warmth to the newborn photo shoot. Each photo radiates the bond they share, creating timeless memories that they’ll cherish forever. His big sisters, though one was a bit camera-shy, brought an adorable dynamic to the shoot. The original plan was to step outside into the nearby park for some larger family photos. The park, with its picturesque scenery, is usually a perfect backdrop for a newborn photo shoot. However, the winter chill had other plans for us. The cold air proved too brisk for the little ones, so we decided to keep the session indoors in my small but well-equipped baby studio.

Despite the change of plans, the indoor session turned out wonderfully. My home studio, designed to provide a comfortable and intimate setting, was the perfect environment for capturing those precious moments. The soft, natural light streaming in through the windows highlighted Joshua’s delicate features beautifully. The cozy ambiance allowed everyone to relax, resulting in candid, heartfelt photos that truly reflect the family’s bond.

Family Photoshoot at Veale Gardens

There’s something magical about Veale Gardens in Adelaide, especially in the golden hour just before sunset. As a wedding photographer who occasionally ventures into family shoots, I was thrilled to capture a delightful family at this picturesque location. The family consisted of Mum, three brothers, a sister, and one of the brothers’ partners. As a family photographer in Adelaide, I always look forward to exploring new locations, and Dead Man’s Pass Reserve did not disappoint. This gem of a spot, with its serene creek, lush grassy areas, and towering gum trees, offered a variety of settings to create beautiful and memorable images. The natural beauty of the reserve combined with the family’s infectious energy made for an unforgettable shoot.

Dead Man’s Pass Reserve Family Shoot

We started the shoot with the entire family of seven, including a partner, taking advantage of the diverse landscape. Each combination of family members got their moment in front of the camera, from parents with their children to sibling shots and individual portraits. The kids were full of energy, running around and exploring the reserve, which brought a lovely candid feel to the photos.

The creek at Dead Man’s Pass Reserve provided a picturesque setting. The children loved playing near the water, and the reflections in the creek added a magical touch to the photos. The gum trees, standing tall and proud, framed the family beautifully, creating a natural canopy that highlighted the intimacy and connection among them. Despite the chill in the air, the family was full of smiles and laughter, which made my job as their photographer an absolute joy.
