Basket Range Wedding at the Manor – Jamie & Connor

When Jamie and Connor chose to say “I do” at The Manor in Basket Range, they didn’t just pick a venue – they picked a slice of magic. Nestled in the picturesque hills of Adelaide, The Manor is known for its stunning gardens, rustic charm, and unique character. The day they selected for their wedding happened to be one of the sunniest, brightest days in living memory, which added an extra layer of beauty to their already breathtaking celebration.

Though bright sunlight can pose a challenge for photographers, this couple was up for anything. Their energy was contagious, and the whole day radiated with excitement and love. From their first look to the final toast, every moment at Jamie and Connor’s wedding was one for the books.

Pre-Ceremony Photoshoot

As any seasoned wedding photographer will tell you, taking photos in full midday sunlight isn’t always the easiest. The harsh midday sun can cause shadows, squinting, and hot spots that aren’t ideal for those timeless wedding photos. But, somehow, Jamie and Connor made it work – and in the best way possible!

As we wandered around The Manor’s gardens, it felt like we were in our own little world. The shade from the trees provided us with moments of relief from the direct sun, allowing us to take full advantage of every magical corner of the venue. We made sure to stop and take advantage of the lush surroundings, from the vibrant flowers blooming in the garden to the perfectly manicured lawns that framed the chapel in the distance.

We made sure to make the most of the small garden behind the chapel. Here, the sun’s angle was just right, making it the ideal spot for a few tender moments captured between Jamie and Connor. We couldn’t resist taking a stroll over to the orchard across the road, where the trees added an air of serenity to the photos. With each step, the couple’s love story unfolded beautifully in front of the lens, and the anticipation for the ceremony grew.

Basket Range Wedding Ceremony at the Manor

The ceremony itself was an absolute dream. The little chapel at The Manor provides the most charming backdrop for exchanging vows, and the couple couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. Despite the challenges that come with bright sunlight, this stunning location never fails to deliver its best side. The bridal party took their places on the steps, and I positioned myself to capture every emotion as it unfolded – the joy, the anticipation, the love.

While the bright sun made it tricky to get the perfect shots of the entire bridal party, there was no shortage of moments to capture. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt speeches, shared laughter, and a few happy tears.

The heartfelt ceremony wrapped up with their first kiss as newlyweds and also a rather unique signing of their marriage certificate involving their dogs and ink on their paws! Was one of the best things I’ve ever seen!

Lunch time Reception

After the ceremony, everyone moved to the lower area of The Manor for a lovely lunch reception. While everyone was mingling, eating, and celebrating, I saw the opportunity to steal Jamie and Connor away once more for a few post-ceremony photos. The earlier part of the day had been sunny and bright, but now, as the afternoon began to settle in, the lighting became absolutely perfect for a few final shots.

We made our way back to the gardens, this time with the sun lower in the sky, casting a soft, warm light that made for stunning photos. It was the kind of light that made everything glow. Jamie and Connor, who had been so easygoing and fun throughout the entire day, were now more relaxed than ever, and their joy radiated in every shot.

Of course, we couldn’t resist a few playful shots with the bridal party, who had gathered for a celebratory group photo in front of the castle keep. Everyone was so excited, and there was a carefree energy in the air. It was the perfect way to wrap up the day’s photoshoot, capturing the joy and exuberance that Jamie and Connor’s wedding exuded.

I hadn’t been back to this beautiful venue in some time, and it was a pleasure to see its nostalgic charm and scenic beauty still thriving. St Francis Winery holds a unique place as one of the closest wedding venues to my old neighborhood, and it felt heartwarming to capture such precious moments there.

The day began with a palpable sense of excitement and joy. The ambiance was filled with laughter, heartfelt exchanges, and a collective anticipation for the journey Hailey and Adam were about to embark upon. The historic winery grounds, complete with lush vineyards and the iconic pond, created a fairytale backdrop that captured the spirit of their day. Every corner of the venue contributed to a warm, inviting atmosphere that reflected Hailey and Adam’s personalities perfectly.

Preparation

Adam’s preparations took place in a cozy room typically reserved for bridal parties, but he was joined by two wonderful ladies as part of his entourage, adding a unique twist to the morning. The room echoed with laughter, lighthearted banter, and excitement as they prepared for the big day. Adam’s laid-back vibe was infectious, creating a relaxed and enjoyable environment that felt like a celebration in itself.

The setting allowed Adam to fully enjoy the final moments before saying “I do,” sharing a few laughs with his friends as they helped him prepare. Pre-Ceremony Shoot

The anticipation reached new heights when Hailey and Adam shared a “first touch” around the corner of one of St Francis Winery’s historic walls. Standing on opposite sides, they held hands, feeling each other’s presence without yet meeting face-to-face. It was a beautiful moment that built up to their official “first look,” and you could sense the joy and emotion radiating between them. These intimate moments before the ceremony gave a glimpse of the love and excitement they were both feeling.

The “first look” itself took place under the charming archway next to the winery’s pond, surrounded by the lush landscape. When Adam finally saw Hailey, he couldn’t help but show a touch of emotion, an expression of the deep love he holds for her. This small photoshoot around the grounds allowed us to capture their first moments as a nearly-married couple. We strolled under the graceful weeping willows and even shared a laugh chasing some of the local birdlife, which added a playful touch to the pre-ceremony moments.

Held on the grassy area in front of the main reception hall, the ceremony site was framed by the winery’s iconic weeping willows, creating a serene and intimate space for Hailey and Adam’s vows. The simplicity of the setup allowed the natural beauty of the surroundings to shine, casting a gentle, green glow over the ceremony. Guests were seated comfortably, and the energy in the crowd was one of warmth and love, with every eye on Hailey as she walked down the aisle.

Their ceremony was short, sweet, and filled with heartfelt moments, capturing the essence of their love story. Adam’s big kiss at the end was a joyful and celebratory moment, sealing their vows in front of family and friends.
