Silvestris of Clarendon Wedding – Sam & Wayne

Samantha and Wayne created the kind of wedding day that reminds me why I adore being a wedding photographer. Their Silvestris of Clarendon Wedding combined heartfelt emotion with vibrant creativity and a healthy dose of organised chaos, all wrapped in perfect South Australian sunshine. They had entrusted us with virtually everything we offer – photography, videography, Super8 film, Wes Anderson-inspired visuals, the photobooth, audio guest book – the full SvenStudios circus. Nothing about their celebration was small, and that made it a complete joy to document.

Our relationship began with their engagement shoot at The Manor Basket Range, where they quickly proved that they were up for anything. That playful energy carried into their wedding day and set the tone for an experience that felt uniquely them. Their celebration unfolded between Woodcroft, Clarendon, and the iconic Silvestris of Clarendon, creating a beautiful blend of home comforts and elegant garden ambience. They had narrowly dodged bad weather on both sides of their date, and the sun arrived with almost theatrical timing. Perfect for a couple who love a touch of drama.

Preparation

The morning preparations had two completely different energies. Over at the Woodcroft house, the boys were cracking jokes, tossing banter back and forth, and sliding perfectly into each prompt on my long Wes Anderson-style shot list. Because that aesthetic relies on structured, symmetrical little snippets, I’d broken everything down into easy micro-moments. The result was fun, punchy, and exactly the kind of start that fuels a great wedding day film.

Meanwhile, the girls’ house was bustling in a very different way. Hair tools humming, dresses floating around the room, people darting from one corner to another – a beautiful whirlwind. Sam balanced the flurry around her with so much grace. She carried a calm determination that grounded the morning, even when the pace felt wild. Her love note for Wayne was such a tender moment. Reading it aloud slowed the room instantly, giving everyone a chance to breathe and feel what the day was truly about.

She also shared a first look with her eldest son, which became an emotional highlight of the entire morning. Moments like that stay with you long after the workday ends. We had planned to squeeze in a doughnut stop (because priorities!), but the schedule had other ideas. Before long we were out the door, weaving our way towards Clarendon.

Silvestris of Clarendon is always a stunning backdrop for a wedding celebration. The gardens seemed to glow under the afternoon sun, and guests gathered with a sense of anticipation that built beautifully. As Wayne took his place at the front, a pre-recorded message from Sam played over the speakers. One of the standout requests from Sam and Wayne was a vintage Super8 wedding video. It added a gorgeous layer of nostalgia to their visual story. The texture of old-school film brings an entirely different mood to a wedding day. Colours soften, motion becomes dreamlike, and every snippet feels timeless. Filming in Super8 forces a slower, more intentional rhythm, and I love how it encourages couples to savour each moment.

Sam and Wayne absolutely embraced it. Their natural playfulness translated perfectly on film, and the soft flicker of the Super8 camera gave their day a romantic, cinematic quality. It blended effortlessly with the modern digital footage, creating a wedding collection with genuine depth. The final edit ties their personalities to that vintage aesthetic without feeling gimmicky – just warm, nostalgic, and beautifully imperfect.

We whisked the couple away just down the road for portraits near an old church, a secret little gem nestled in the Clarendon landscape. The rustic stonework and surrounding greenery created a wonderfully textured canvas for their glamour photos. Clarendon always offers that magical mix of heritage and countryside charm, and it photographs beautifully in the late afternoon light.

Time was slipping away faster than we hoped, so we worked quickly. Sam and Wayne were absolute champions, trusting the process, diving into the poses, and leaning into the fun of it all. Their chemistry made everything flow effortlessly. Even with the fast pace, we captured an incredible range of warm, romantic shots that highlight their bond and the timeless atmosphere Clarendon is known for.

This part of the brief was a massive undertaking. Wes Anderson style may look simple, but it demands precision. Balanced frames, quirky motions, pastel vibes, symmetrical compositions – and all while keeping the authenticity of a real wedding day. Not a film set. That’s the magic and the challenge. Luckily, Sam and Wayne were the perfect couple for it. They embraced the playfulness and leaned straight into the fun.

We created sequences throughout the day that felt whimsical and charming, weaving in curated props, intentional staging, and those quick little micro-scenes unique to the style. The boys’ morning preparations gave us so much gold. Sam’s expressive reactions, colourful details, and the lively reception added even more. The final video feels quirky, romantic, and unmistakably them – Wes Anderson energy without losing their genuine personalities.

Their Silvestris of Clarendon wedding reception brought all the energy. The gardens and dining spaces transformed into a vibrant celebration that never missed a beat. Sam kicked off the evening with a performance from her own dance troupe, immediately lifting the room into party mode. The crowd went wild, and that momentum carried right through the night.

There were flower installations that looked like they belonged in a magazine, two gorgeous cakes, warm speeches, and endless entertainment. Our photobooth ran hot from the second it opened. The audio guest book captured hilarious confessions, sweet messages, and everything in between. A surprise saxophone entrance sent guests straight onto the dance floor. Fireworks punctuated the celebrations, tying the whole night together with unforgettable flair.

Country Victoria Wedding in Corrunnun – Rachelle & Anthony

A Country Victoria Wedding always carries an enchanting sort of charm, yet Rachelle and Anthony’s wedding in Corrunnun felt like it belonged in its own storybook. They first contacted me as a Darwin wedding photographer, excited for an outback celebration up north. Life shifted, plans changed, and suddenly their dream day relocated to the rolling countryside near Colac. The switch suited everyone perfectly. My wife and I had talked for ages about exploring this delightful region, so the moment the new plan was confirmed, we packed our gear and prepared for a country adventure.

Their newly purchased property formed the heart of their Wedding in Corrunnun, a sweeping landscape filled with sunlight, wide-open paddocks, and the relaxing atmosphere only rural Victoria can offer. Nothing about the change of plans felt like a compromise. If anything, the intimate setting enhanced every emotional beat of the day. Watching their vision come together on land they now call home felt incredibly personal, like every corner of the property held a small piece of their story.

Preparation

Anthony’s morning unfolded inside a quaint bed and breakfast on Birregurra’s main street. The place radiated old-world charm, with creaky timber floors and antique touches that helped shape a moody, masculine backdrop for his preparation. The rustic courtyard became our little canvas for portraits of the boys. Jackets were straightened, cufflinks fastened, and ties tightened under ivy-covered walls that brought the scene to life. The easy banter between the groomsmen gave the space a relaxed energy that made the photos feel effortless.

Country Victoria Wedding in Corrunnun

The ceremony area on their property looked incredible. A crisp white marquee stretched across the backyard, framing the scene with elegance while allowing the countryside to hold the spotlight. The ceremony space sat just a short walk away, decorated with thoughtful simplicity that suited the rural landscape beautifully. The weather had turned on its best behaviour. Only a day earlier, the region battled unkind conditions, yet here we stood under brilliant skies and gentle breezes.

Rachelle’s entrance took the entire guest list by surprise. The rhythmic thumping of helicopter blades rolled across the paddocks as her aircraft dipped toward the ceremony site. She stepped out with a radiant smile, veil trailing behind her, looking every bit like the heroine of her own love story. Anthony’s expression said everything—eyes wide, lips trembling between laughter and awe. It was a moment no one present will ever forget.

The helicopter lingered long enough for family photos, giving us the perfect chance to capture dramatic portraits against its sleek silhouette. Once those were complete, we travelled to a nearby private garden for glamour photos. The property felt like a secret hideaway. Every path revealed beautifully curated landscapes, dotted with rusted-out vehicles and charming old buildings. These unexpected elements created visual layers that transformed each portrait into something rich, emotive, and distinctly country Victoria.

We head off to a nearby private property with a stunning garden for our glamour session. It offered a stunning mix of manicured greenery and whimsical character. Sunlight filtered through tall trees, creating beautiful pockets of glow around Rachelle’s lace gown. Anthony looked completely smitten as he watched her weave through wildflowers and ferns. Every angle felt like a celebration of their connection, framed by nature’s best colours and textures.

The rusted vintage vehicles scattered across the garden added such personality to their Country Victoria Wedding gallery. These weathered beauties felt as though they’d lived entire lifetimes among the trees. Backyard Reception

Returning to their Corrunnun property for the reception created the warmest close to the day. The marquee glowed with festoon lighting and the clinking of glasses echoed through the night. Guests settled in for heartfelt speeches and generous servings of food that matched the couple’s laid-back approach. Children played on the grass while adults mingled, creating a soft, inviting energy that felt like a true country gathering.

The shoe game brought a burst of laughter to the reception. Rachelle and Anthony sat back-to-back while the bridesmaids fired off playful questions that revealed everything from who’s the better cook to who starts the most mischief. The marquee erupted with every answer. Later, the room lit up again when a surprise video message appeared during speeches—a heartfelt shout-out from Rachelle’s favourite artist, leaving her absolutely glowing as everyone cheered.

Anthony had one special request when booking me: a same-day edit video. Throughout the evening, we pieced together highlights from the ceremony, preparation, and glamour sessions, assembling a film that captured the heart of their celebration.
