Nestled in the picturesque hills of Adelaide, The Manor is known for its stunning gardens, rustic charm, and unique character. The day they selected for their wedding happened to be one of the sunniest, brightest days in living memory, which added an extra layer of beauty to their already breathtaking celebration.

Though bright sunlight can pose a challenge for photographers, this couple was up for anything. Their energy was contagious, and the whole day radiated with excitement and love. From their first look to the final toast, every moment at Jamie and Connor’s wedding was one for the books.

Pre-Ceremony Photoshoot

As any seasoned wedding photographer will tell you, taking photos in full midday sunlight isn’t always the easiest. The harsh midday sun can cause shadows, squinting, and hot spots that aren’t ideal for those timeless wedding photos. But, somehow, Jamie and Connor made it work – and in the best way possible!

As we wandered around The Manor’s gardens, it felt like we were in our own little world. The shade from the trees provided us with moments of relief from the direct sun, allowing us to take full advantage of every magical corner of the venue. We made sure to stop and take advantage of the lush surroundings, from the vibrant flowers blooming in the garden to the perfectly manicured lawns that framed the chapel in the distance.

We made sure to make the most of the small garden behind the chapel. Here, the sun’s angle was just right, making it the ideal spot for a few tender moments captured between Jamie and Connor. We couldn’t resist taking a stroll over to the orchard across the road, where the trees added an air of serenity to the photos. With each step, the couple’s love story unfolded beautifully in front of the lens, and the anticipation for the ceremony grew.

Basket Range Wedding Ceremony at the Manor

The ceremony itself was an absolute dream. The little chapel at The Manor provides the most charming backdrop for exchanging vows, and the couple couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. Despite the challenges that come with bright sunlight, this stunning location never fails to deliver its best side. The bridal party took their places on the steps, and I positioned myself to capture every emotion as it unfolded – the joy, the anticipation, the love.

While the bright sun made it tricky to get the perfect shots of the entire bridal party, there was no shortage of moments to capture. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt speeches, shared laughter, and a few happy tears.

The heartfelt ceremony wrapped up with their first kiss as newlyweds and also a rather unique signing of their marriage certificate involving their dogs and ink on their paws! Was one of the best things I’ve ever seen!

Lunch time Reception

After the ceremony, everyone moved to the lower area of The Manor for a lovely lunch reception. While everyone was mingling, eating, and celebrating, I saw the opportunity to steal Jamie and Connor away once more for a few post-ceremony photos. The earlier part of the day had been sunny and bright, but now, as the afternoon began to settle in, the lighting became absolutely perfect for a few final shots.

We made our way back to the gardens, this time with the sun lower in the sky, casting a soft, warm light that made for stunning photos. It was the kind of light that made everything glow. Jamie and Connor, who had been so easygoing and fun throughout the entire day, were now more relaxed than ever, and their joy radiated in every shot.

Of course, we couldn’t resist a few playful shots with the bridal party, who had gathered for a celebratory group photo in front of the castle keep. Everyone was so excited, and there was a carefree energy in the air. It was the perfect way to wrap up the day’s photoshoot, capturing the joy and exuberance that Jamie and Connor’s wedding exuded.

An Adelaide Hills wedding at The Manor Basket Range is always a stunning experience, and Shae and Dion’s celebration perfectly captured the venue’s charm, history, and rustic elegance. Surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills, their wedding felt like a fairytale come to life. The soft cloud cover added a magical glow, making each moment of their Adelaide Hills wedding at The Manor feel even more romantic and unforgettable.

I’ve been fortunate enough to capture countless weddings at The Manor Basket Range, but Shae and Dion’s celebration was a unique experience for me. Their ceremony took place in the venue’s lower event area, a more intimate space filled with character and warmth. It felt cozy and inviting, perfect for the personal, heartfelt ceremony they had planned. The atmosphere was full of excitement, love, and just the right amount of nerves, creating an energy that carried throughout the day.

Preparation

Dion and his groomsmen had a lively start to their day. Located at one end of The Manor’s grand castle complex, the boys took full advantage of the relaxed vibes in the air. Laughter echoed through the stone walls as they dressed and shared jokes, keeping the mood light. The star of the show, however, was the couple’s page boy, who stole everyone’s heart with his adorable antics. The groomsmen were utterly charmed, making sure he was entertained with phone snippets and plenty of attention while they finished preparing.

Ready to meet the love of his life at the aisle, Dion’s excitement was palpable. Even with all the playful banter, there was an undercurrent of emotion, adding depth to an already incredible start.

Meanwhile, Shae’s preparation had its share of excitement and little hiccups. In the main keep, the bridal suite buzzed with activity. The stunning room provided the perfect backdrop for Shae and her bridal party to get ready, but not without a few twists. At one point, there was a slight panic when the rings couldn’t be located. Thankfully, they were found in time, but it added a bit of drama to the morning. And let’s not forget the flower girl, who had her own opinion on getting dressed! A tiny bit of stress crept in, but Shae’s bridal party was incredible, rallying around her to keep her spirits high.

As the morning unfolded, everything came together beautifully. After the ceremony, the couple took a short break to visit their reception space upstairs. It gave them a moment to breathe, to take in the day so far, and to soak in the fact that they were now officially married. The reception area was elegantly set up, with a mix of rustic touches and modern sophistication, ready to welcome their guests.

After the group phtos, and as the day’s light began to fade, we whisked Shae, Dion, and their bridal party outside for some glamour photos. The stunning grounds of The Manor provided the perfect backdrop. From the castle-like architecture to the rolling hills surrounding the property, every shot captured the timeless beauty of the Adelaide Hills. The sun setting behind the grand estate added a golden glow, highlighting the joy and love radiating from the newlyweds. It was the perfect setting for capturing the elegance and fun of their day.

The reception was held upstairs, where the celebration truly kicked off. The space was warm and inviting, with soft lighting and elegant table settings. Shae and Dion entered to the sound of cheers and applause, ready to dance the night away.
