Following the ceremony, we gathered everyone on the front lawn for a joyful group photo in front of Ayers House. The reception setup was nothing short of spectacular. Upstairs in the bridal enclave, Grace was surrounded by all the warm fuzzies of pre-ceremony excitement. The Manor Basket Range Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was held in the open-air courtyard, witht eh small chapel as the backdrop – one of my favourite spots at The Manor Basket Range. With ivy-draped walls, towering trees in the background, and guests seated beneath the crisp winter sky, it felt intimate and grand all at once. Grace and Tyler took turns walking down the aisle, creating this beautiful rhythm of anticipation and excitement. No one could wipe the smiles off their faces—including me behind the lens.
The ceremony balanced heart and humour perfectly. Tyler and Grace shared some light-hearted banter, and then followed it up with vows that tugged hard at the heartstrings.
A standout moment? Their request for a behind-the-first-kiss shot. We paused the ceremony right before the smooch so I could duck behind them and snap a photo with all their guests smiling (or crying!) in the background. It was such a sweet, inclusive touch that gave their ceremony something a little extra special. The petal toss during their walk back up the aisle added the final flourish.

With the ceremony wrapped, we stepped straight into the soft afternoon glow—photographer heaven. A Manor Basket Range wedding offers so many gorgeous backdrops, from fairytale staircases to dreamy forest corners. Grace and Tyler didn’t have a full bridal party, so it meant we had more time to wander the grounds together, making the most of every nook.
One of the absolute highlights? A cheeky photoshoot with a giant cutout of their dog “chasing” them around the castle. Yes, it was hilarious. Yes, it worked perfectly. There’s something so refreshing about couples who bring in personal touches like that—it turns formal portraits into something joyfully unique. From romantic archways to windswept gardens, we captured every side of their love story with a playful twist.

Grace and Tyler’s request for a Super8 wedding video absolutely made my heart sing. There’s something magical about the way Super8 film captures movement and light—it’s soft, nostalgic, and wonderfully imperfect in all the right ways. It suited their vibe to a T.
As I filmed snippets of their day—the veil fluttering in the wind, stolen glances, a spontaneous twirl beneath the trees—I knew the footage would tell a timeless story. The grainy warmth of film, combined with the natural charm of The Manor and this playful couple, made for something truly special. It’s not just a video; it’s a feeling, and Grace and Tyler’s Super8 film is all the vintage heart-eyes.
The Manor Basket Range Wedding Reception
As the sun dipped behind the hills, guests moved into the reception hall for a cosy evening filled with laughter, stories, and a whole lot of dancing. The stone walls and chandeliers gave everything a romantic glow, and the long tables were dressed to perfection. I had my photobooth set up and ready to go—and let me tell you, it was an absolute hit. Feather boas, silly hats, giant glasses—you name it, someone wore it.
During key moments like the speeches and the first dance, I stepped away from the photobooth to document the emotion and energy of the room. The speeches brought everything from belly laughs to heartfelt tears, and the first dance was full of joy. No nerves, just pure celebration. Later in the evening, we headed outside for a sparkling send-off. Guests lined the path with sparklers in hand, and Grace and Tyler made their way through with the kind of grins you only get on your wedding day.

Manor Basket Range Wedding days like this remind me why I do what I do. When a couple brings so much heart, humour, and originality to their wedding, and when the venue itself is a photographer’s playground, the results are just magical. Grace and Tyler embraced every moment, and the joy they radiated made every frame shine.
A Pee Wee’s At The Point wedding is always something special, and Nikki and Matt’s celebration was no exception. Tucked at the entrance of the East Point Reserve, this Darwin gem gives off coastal elegance with a big splash of tropical fun. With the weather sitting at a perfectly pleasant 29 degrees (which practically freezing in Darwin), the day was made for good vibes, barefoot dancing, and golden hour magic.
I first crossed paths with Nikki a whole year before the wedding while I was up north photographing another celebration. She mentioned she was planning her own big day and kept me in mind. So when she reached out to book me as her Darwin wedding photographer, I was stoked. We already had a fun rapport, and after hearing about their plans for Pee Wee’s At The Point, I couldn’t wait to be part of it. The day was packed with laughs, emotional moments, and one seriously good sunset.
Preparation
Matt was getting ready with his groomsmen at their house just outside Darwin — a place very much still under renovation. As a builder by trade, Matt’s half-finished walls and rogue power tools became the running joke of the entire day. The lads were quick to tease him about getting everything organised “just in time” for the wedding. Gotta love a bit of friendly ribbing to kick off the day.
The preparation was short, sharp, and shiny. The suits were donned, ties were straightened (eventually), and the jackets lasted maybe ten minutes before the tropical heat convinced everyone to ditch them. We got some fun shots out in the yard before they retreated inside to enjoy the aircon and maybe a sneaky pre-wedding drink. Matt had that perfect balance of nerves and excitement — the kind of buzz that makes for great candid moments.

Nikki’s morning was a whirl of makeup brushes, hair clips, and little ones darting between grown-up legs. I cheekily tried to stir the pot with a little joke Matt’s crew suggested — something about him getting into a fight the day before — but Nikki saw right through it and rolled her eyes with a grin. She was calm, collected, and absolutely glowing. We had a beautiful father-daughter first look that had everyone (including me) a little teary-eyed. Before long, we squeezed in a few photos with the kids and then packed up to head to Pee Wee’s At The Point for the ceremony.

The upper grassy level at Pee Wee’s At The Point is an absolute dream for a wedding ceremony. It overlooks the water, is wrapped in lush greenery, and offers that unbeatable blend of laid-back Darwin vibes with just the right touch of formality. It’s no wonder couples from all over pick this spot for their big day.
Nikki and Matt’s ceremony was heartfelt, quick, and full of love. The vows were short but meaningful, the guests were completely tuned in, and the whole thing flowed effortlessly. Instead of a formal recessional, the newlyweds made a beeline for the champagne tower and kicked things off with a pop and a pour. It was such a fun twist, and the guests loved it. There’s nothing like a bit of bubbly to signal it’s time to celebrate!

Glamour Photos
After a round of family photos on the lawn, we wandered over to the old shed nearby for some rustic portraits. The lighting was perfect — soft and golden — and the relaxed energy from the ceremony carried over beautifully. Nikki and Matt were total naturals, and we got a dreamy mix of editorial, romantic, and downright fun shots.
As golden hour crept in, we made our way to the East Point cliffs. Now, this is one of my all-time favourite places for sunset portraits in Darwin. But of course, we weren’t the only ones who thought so. When we arrived, about twenty backpackers were busy cliff jumping and cheering each other on like it was the Olympics. Rather than shy away, we embraced the energy. The jumpers added a cool burst of motion and colour to a few wide shots, and when I asked nicely if we could borrow the cliff edge for a few portraits, they graciously gave us space.
With the sun dipping low and the sky turning that perfect peachy hue, Nikki and Matt absolutely nailed their couple shots. They climbed, twirled, dipped, and smiled their way through it all like seasoned pros.

Back at Pee Wee’s, the reception was in full swing under the soft glow of fairy lights. The space was warm and inviting, with plenty of room to dance, laugh, and soak up the celebration. The DJ had the beats sorted, and the speeches started rolling — many of which circled back to Matt’s building habits and the legendary unfinished house. There’s something about a little bit of cheek in the speeches that just sets the tone for a night full of fun.
Before the formalities wrapped up, we snuck away briefly to grab a few more portraits under the light of the full moon. It was too beautiful not to use. Then it was time for the first dance — a simple, sweet moment shared between the newlyweds under the stars. As the music flowed and guests joined in on the dancefloor, the night carried on in true Darwin style: joyful, heartfelt, and just a little bit wild.

Pre-Ceremony
Mei, ever-graceful, arrived glowing and composed, while Daniel was a bundle of nerves and smiles rolled into one. The ceremony itself was full of heartfelt moments. Mei’s entrance was elegant and timeless, framed by the greenery and the historic beauty of Partridge House behind her. Daniel’s expression as he saw her for the first time was priceless – that mix of awe and pure love that makes documenting weddings such a joy. Being surrounded by blooming gardens and the character-filled façade of Partridge House created a timeless backdrop. After the official ‘I do’s’, the couple was absolutely swarmed by hugs, kisses, and happy tears. We took the opportunity to capture group shots in front of the house – it’s one of those iconic Adelaide wedding photo spots that never loses its charm. Guests laughed, kids ran around the lawn, and there was that wonderful sense of community and celebration everywhere you looked.

With formalities done and everyone heading to The Grand for the reception, we took a little detour for some glamour portraits around the grounds and then down to Glenelg foreshore. The gardens surrounding Partridge House were perfect for those romantic, leafy moments. The textured stone walls, arching branches, and soft light filtering through created a dreamy, vintage feel to Mei and Daniel’s couple portraits.
Heading down to Glenelg Beach brought a whole new vibe – playful, breezy, and so full of life. The beachfront was dotted with Sunday strollers and curious onlookers, many of whom offered cheers and congratulations as we passed. It’s one of the perks of shooting weddings in such a public, iconic spot – the whole world seems to celebrate with you. The wide open sky, the rhythm of the waves, and the sand beneath their feet brought out the couple’s fun, relaxed side. Then it was on to the Grand’s majestic steps – a striking, elegant location that added a pop of architectural drama to the album.

The Stamford Grand Hotel played host to their lunch-time reception, with panoramic views of Glenelg beach adding a little seaside sparkle to the festivities. With a late lunch format, everything felt unhurried – a welcome change that gave guests more time to mingle, enjoy the atmosphere, and simply celebrate without feeling bound to a tight timeline. The space was styled simply but beautifully, with soft florals and personal touches sprinkled throughout.
A definite highlight of the afternoon was Mei and Daniel’s choreographed first dance. It was a gorgeous surprise – smooth, elegant, and clearly something they had practiced together for weeks. It added such a personal note to the celebration, and the whole room lit up with applause and laughter as they twirled across the floor. Speeches followed – some funny, some tear-jerking – all of them heartfelt. As the sun streamed through the windows and music drifted in the background, the vibe was relaxed, love-filled, and full of happiness.
