Little Baby Samara came into the studio on such short notice for a newborn session, and with good reason. Her parents had just learned that early the next week, she would need to wear a hip brace due to hip dysplasia. The urgency of capturing her in all her soft, delicate, uninhibited glory before that brace went on was absolutely understood. It was a moment they wanted to freeze in time—a moment where she could still wriggle her tiny legs freely and comfortably.
As a photographer, but also as a parent, this moment hit home for me in a unique way. My own little Chloe had gone through the same experience with hip dysplasia. I knew all too well what it meant for Baby Samara and her parents. For a while, those tiny legs wouldn’t be able to kick or curl up naturally, and those sweet moments of movement would soon be paused for the sake of her health. Knowing this gave the shoot an extra layer of emotional significance for me, and it was my goal to capture the softness and serenity of Samara, just as she was, before the brace became a part of her early journey.

The session itself was filled with calm, patience, and warmth, though Baby Samara was quick to make her feelings known when the room wasn’t warm enough. Like any newborn shoot, we were working with a very small window of time between naps, feeds, and little bursts of grumpiness—those adorable, scrunchy, frowny faces that parents cherish. Baby Samara was no exception. As soon as the air hit her delicate skin, she let us know it was a bit too chilly for her liking! Once wrapped back up, or even better, once she was nestled into her mum or dad’s arms, all was right in her world again.
This shoot took place in our cozy home studio here in Aberfoyle Park, where we’ve crafted the perfect environment for newborn sessions. The soft lighting, comfortable seating for parents, and our go-to props were all in place, ready to make Samara shine. The focus of this shoot was all on her, and we kept the parents mostly in the background, occasionally swooping in for a cuddle or a reassuring stroke on her back. These tender moments, while not the main focus of the images, were everything for keeping the session smooth and Baby Samara content.

The Manor wedding ceremony was a dream come true, even with a sprinkling of rain just as things got started. After the heartfelt ceremony at Faithwood Chapel, we ventured to the iconic Port Adelaide precinct for Brooke and Arthur’s glamour photos. Port Adelaide, with its historic charm, offered a stunning contrast to the classic elegance of the chapel. The couple, still basking in the joy of their ceremony, were a delight to photograph as they explored the area’s hidden gems.
The famed Port Adelaide lighthouse provided a striking backdrop, its towering structure adding a sense of grandeur to the couple’s portraits. As we snapped away, a friendly dolphin even made a surprise appearance, adding a touch of magic to the already perfect day.
The alleyways of Port Adelaide, with their rustic brick walls and charming nooks, were the ideal setting for capturing some truly unique moments. Brooke and Arthur’s playful personalities shone through in every shot, as they laughed and embraced, completely at ease in front of the camera. Brooke and Arthur’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration of their love—it was a day filled with moments that will be treasured forever. One of the highlights was the vintage video we produced for the couple using a Super 8 camera. This nostalgic element added a layer of timeless beauty to the day, capturing the couple’s joy in a way that felt both authentic and evocative.
The grainy, sepia-toned footage of the ceremony, coupled with the candid moments of their children playing, created a wedding film that feels like a cherished memory from a bygone era. It’s these kinds of details that make each wedding unique, and it was a true pleasure to be able to offer something so special for Brooke and Arthur.
As the day transitioned from the intimate ceremony at Faithwood Chapel to the vibrant streets of Port Adelaide, we were able to capture a wide range of emotions and settings, each one adding to the rich tapestry of Brooke and Arthur’s wedding day. The final stop at Carmine and Co for their lunchtime reception was the perfect way to round off the celebrations. The warm, inviting atmosphere of the restaurant, coupled with delicious food and heartfelt toasts, made for a relaxed and joyful end to a day that was truly unforgettable.
The vibrant energy of Darwin’s tropical climate set the perfect scene for Kaitlyn and Jake’s Star of the Sea Cathedral wedding. Nestled in the heart of the city, this stunning cathedral, also known as St Mary’s Cathedral, provided a majestic backdrop for their special day. Having traveled up from Adelaide, where the winter chill was biting, the warmth of Darwin was a welcome change. It felt like stepping into a different world—a world where the sun shone brightly, and the air was thick with excitement.
Kaitlyn and Jake had planned every detail meticulously, and it was clear that their wedding was going to be a day to remember. The Star of the Sea Cathedral, with its awe-inspiring domed roof and grand architecture, was the ideal venue for their union. Preparation
Jake’s preparation was nothing short of a good time. Located just outside the bustling city, their home was surrounded by lush Northern Territory foliage, creating a serene yet adventurous setting. The sun filtered through the trees, casting a golden glow that added a touch of magic to the morning. Jake and his groomsmen were in high spirits, embracing the laid-back atmosphere of the Top End.
As they suited up, there was a sense of camaraderie and excitement. But it wasn’t all about the suits and ties—Jake and his mates couldn’t resist the urge to have a bit of fun. Before long, they were tearing around in their little buggy, kicking up dust and laughing like schoolboys. It was a true reflection of Jake’s fun-loving personality. The joy and energy of the morning were infectious, setting the tone for the rest of the day.

Kaitlyn was getting ready in the quaintest little bed and breakfast in Nightcliff. The contrast between the boys’ boisterous antics and the girls’ more serene preparation was striking. Kaitlyn, surrounded by her closest friends, was the picture of calm elegance. Yet beneath the surface, there was an undercurrent of eager anticipation. The clock was ticking, and the cathedral awaited.
One of the most touching moments of the day happened during Kaitlyn’s preparation. As she slipped into her wedding dress, the room filled with a sense of awe. The Star of the Sea Cathedral wedding ceremony was nothing short of breathtaking. Kaitlyn and her bridal party arrived in style, stepping out of their limo with grace and poise. Glamour Photos
After the ceremony and group photos, we ventured out into the beautiful surroundings of Darwin for some glamour shots. Our first stop was the front area of the Darwin Botanic Gardens, where we made the most of the funky trees that are so iconic to the area. The light was perfect—soft and golden, creating a dreamy atmosphere that was perfect for capturing the joy and love that radiated from Kaitlyn and Jake. A spontaneous champagne cork pop added a dash of fun, and the group shots amongst the trees were a highlight of the day.
But we weren’t done yet. With a little time on our hands before the reception, we made a quick stop at East Point, I affectionately call it “Pride Rock.” I always recommend this spot to couples because of the epic landscapes and the incredible photographic opportunities it offers.
The views were breathtaking, and Kaitlyn and Jake were more than willing to embrace the moment. Their love for each other was evident in every shot, and I’m so grateful we took the time to capture these special moments. It was the perfect way to wrap up the glamour photos before heading to the reception.

Darwin Sailing Club Wedding Reception
The reception at the Darwin Sailing Club was a true reflection of what a Darwin wedding is all about—laid-back, fun-loving, and full of heart. Situated right on the beach, the venue offered stunning views of the ocean, with the sun setting in the background, casting a warm, golden hue over the entire scene. Kaitlyn and Jake had ensured that their guests experienced the very best of Darwin, and the Sailing Club was the perfect spot to do just that.
The reception was a celebration in every sense of the word. From the moment the bridal party made their entrance—complete with one member doing a classic “shoey,” much to everyone’s delight—the night was filled with laughter and joy. The food was delicious, the speeches heartfelt, and the atmosphere electric. The highlight, however, was the sunset. There’s something about a Darwin sunset that is simply magical, and this one did not disappoint.
