Photographing this little angel in her dream state provided us with a collection of serene and beautiful images. The quiet moments, with Ellie wrapped snugly and sleeping soundly on a plush baby beanbag, translated into pictures that were a testament to peaceful infancy. The gentle, diffuse lighting complemented her calm demeanor, casting soft shadows that added depth to each shot.
It was intriguing to see Ellie so content and asleep, considering her parents mentioned this was quite unusual for her. The challenge, however, lay in gently nudging her awake to capture different expressions and poses. After some delicate coaxing with the help of her parents, we managed a few more dynamic images, which added a lovely variety to the session. These moments are precious, capturing not just a baby’s image but their early personality traits.
Having previously captured the joyous occasion of Ellie’s parents’ wedding at the stunning Ekhidna Wines, reuniting with this family was particularly special for me. It was remarkable to see the threads of their lives weaving into this new chapter. Preparation
The day began the childhood home of Kirsty, south of Adelaide. It was here, in a room filled with nostalgia and morning sunlight, that Kirsty and her bridesmaids shared laughter and a few joyful tears as they prepared. The air buzzed with excitement, punctuated by the clicks and whirrs of my Super 8 camera — although I had an early mishap where I dropped it! haha – it was all part of the day’s adventures! The bridesmaids, dressed in chic, pastel gowns, flitted around Kirsty, who looked radiant in her flowing bridal dress.
Amidst the giggles and the final touches of makeup, there was a sense of serene happiness. The bridesmaids shared stories and reminisced, enveloped by the warmth of the home and the presence of Wal from Footrot Flats overseeing the scene. It was a morning filled with perfect moments, the kind that are a joy to capture, showcasing not just beauty but the bonds of lifelong friendships.

First Looks
The excitement peaked during the first looks. Mellora and her father shared a heartfelt moment under the famed weeping willows at St Francis Winery.
