Pt Noarlunga Underwater Wreck The Dress Shoot – Jess & Jack

When Jess and Jack first shared their love story with me during our meeting at White Hill Estate, I knew their wedding was going to be one to remember. Their connection was vibrant, and their adventurous spirits were magnetic. As avid free divers, they spoke about their shared love for the ocean, and it wasn’t long before the idea of an underwater wreck the dress shoot came to life. With my own passion for having a fun time behind a camera like this, The day after their wedding, we brought this unique concept to the crystal-clear waters off Pt Noarlunga.

Jess and Jack were game for anything, and their playful energy made this experience unforgettable. Before diving into the ocean, we started with some fun shots along the shoreline. There’s nothing quite like the image of a bride’s gown catching the waves, creating a dramatic, flowing effect that feels almost otherworldly. From splashing through the surf to Jack cheekily scooping Jess up before tossing her into the shallows, it was pure joy captured through the lens.

Beachside Photoshoot

Pt Noarlunga is a treasure for beach photography. Its golden sands and rugged jetty offer a perfect backdrop for candid moments and romantic portraits. As the sun rose, Jess and Jack’s newlywed glow shone even brighter. Their laughter filled the salty air as they played like kids along the water’s edge, their love evident in every glance and touch.

We started with some light-hearted shots to ease into the shoot. Jess’s gown – technically NOT the one she had worn the day earlier, contrasted beautifully against the soft blues and whites of the coastline. Jack was dressed in his full suit however, adding to the romantic vibe of the shoot. The highlight? Capturing the waves fanning out her dress like a mermaid’s tail, a moment that combined elegance with the raw power of nature.

It was actually this shot which I had taken at a previous wreck the dress shoot that prompted Jess and Jack to get in contact and have me shoot their wedding! So any other adventurous souls out there wanting to do something outrageous for your wedding shoot, hit me up!

Pt Noarlunga’s beach setting provided dynamic opportunities for creativity. The interplay of sunlight and water created dazzling reflections, and we used every angle to capture the couple’s chemistry. Whether framed against the expansive sky or the foaming surf, their photos were a celebration of love and freedom.

Underwater Wreck The Dress Shoot

Diving into the waters of Pt Noarlunga was the next-level adventure we’d all been waiting for. The sun, which had hidden behind clouds on their wedding day, now shone brightly, illuminating the ocean with clarity and warmth. Still, the water was brisk, so we kept the session short but sweet, ensuring every moment counted. For safety and guidance, I brought along a skilled dive team, including the incredible Diana Fernie, who brought expertise and calm to the shoot.

Underwater shoots are a mix of art and science. Timing, positioning, and lighting are crucial, and Jess and Jack were naturals. They dove effortlessly, their movements slow and dreamlike, giving the camera a chance to capture their underwater waltz. Jess’s wedding gown—altered slightly for practicality—moved like liquid poetry, enhanced subtly in post-production to recreate the sweeping elegance of her wedding day dress.

Wreck-the-dress shoots are about more than just photos—they’re about capturing the essence of a couple’s journey. For Jess and Jack, the ocean is their shared sanctuary, a place where they’ve built countless memories together. To bring their wedding celebration into this environment was deeply meaningful, and it showed in every shot. Their love was playful yet profound, adventurous yet anchored, and this shoot reflected it all.

The session wrapped up with both exhilaration and relief as we climbed back onto the shore. Jess and Jack were shivering but smiling, thrilled by the experience. While the water had been chilly, the warmth of their connection radiated through every image. They thanked the dive team and myself for helping bring their dream to life, but truthfully, it was my honor to work with such a bold and inspiring couple.

From the lively beachside moments to the surreal underwater portraits, the underwater wreck the dress shoot images were as dynamic and unique as Jess and Jack themselves. They weren’t just photos—they were a testament to a love that’s willing to dive deep, both figuratively and literally.

Yatahlia Manor Wedding – Amy & Ben

Amy and Ben’s Yatahlia Manor wedding was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the lush Adelaide Hills, this venue offers a dreamy setting for any couple’s special day. With its sprawling gardens, picturesque pond, and old-world charm, it’s easy to see why Amy and Ben chose this stunning location to exchange their vows.

A cloudy sky hung over Yatahlia Manor, casting a soft light that gave the day an ethereal glow. This was my second visit to the manor that weekend, and it never fails to impress. Every corner of the venue seemed to reflect the couple’s love story, from the elegant ceremony setup by the pond to the playful energy of their two children, who were as much a part of the day as the bride and groom themselves.

Preparation

The day began at Ben’s family home, where he was getting ready with his parents and sister. By the time I arrived, Ben was already dressed and looking sharp in his suit. This made my job a breeze as we could dive straight into capturing those candid moments that define the excitement before a wedding. His faithful dog and cat were also keen to be in the spotlight, and the photos of Ben with his furry companions are sure to be cherished.

Ben’s calm demeanor hinted at the nerves bubbling just beneath the surface. His family shared knowing smiles, offering gentle words of encouragement. Capturing these moments of connection was a privilege. With the pre-ceremony jitters growing, I made my way to Amy’s preparation to document her journey to the altar.

Amy’s preparation was a heartwarming blend of chaos and love. Surrounded by her parents, close friends, and the couple’s two adorable children, the energy in the room was infectious. The kids, with their boundless excitement, stole the show, especially the family’s Dalmatian, who seemed determined to be part of every shot.

As Amy stepped into her elegant gown, her older son took on the role of her helper, carefully adjusting the train of her dress. Watching him beam with pride while assisting his mum was enough to melt anyone’s heart. Amy’s dad had his moment too, with a touching first look outside the house. The emotion in his eyes spoke volumes as he saw his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. After a quick round of hugs and final touch-ups, it was time to head to Yatahlia Manor for the ceremony.

Yatahlia Manor Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony unfolded by the picturesque pond at the Yatahlia Manor, a location that could easily be mistaken for a scene from a romantic movie. The soft clouds above created a perfect natural diffuser, giving the moment a dreamlike quality. Guests gathered on the manicured lawn, their faces lit with anticipation as Amy made her way down the aisle.

The ceremony was short, sweet, and filled with heartfelt vows. Amy and Ben’s love shone brightly as they exchanged promises, their children standing proudly by their side. The serene setting added a layer of intimacy to the occasion, with the gentle rustle of leaves and the occasional chirp of birds providing a soothing soundtrack.

Following the ceremony, we transitioned to the front of the manor for group photos. The grand façade of Yatahlia Manor provided an elegant backdrop for family portraits and candid moments with loved ones. It was the perfect way to capture the joy and togetherness of the day.

Yatahlia Manor Wedding Photoshoot

After the group photos, it was time to explore the lush grounds of Yatahlia Manor for the couple’s portrait session. The gardens were in full bloom, offering vibrant pops of color and romantic hideaways at every turn. Amy and Ben were joined by their children for a few family portraits, which captured the love and connection that defines their family dynamic.

Once the little ones were whisked away, the focus shifted to the couple. Amy’s dress flowed beautifully as she and Ben strolled through the gardens, pausing for intimate moments under the canopy of trees. The pond reflected their joy, adding a touch of whimsy to the photos. The grounds of Yatahlia Manor never fail to inspire, and the results were a stunning collection of images that will transport them back to this special day for years to come.

The Village Hotel Wedding Reception

After wrapping up the photoshoot, everyone headed to The Village Hotel for the cocktail-style reception. Amy had poured her heart into the details, with personalized touches scattered throughout the venue. QR code cards were thoughtfully placed around the room, even in the bathrooms, inviting guests to contribute their own photos to the day’s collection.

The atmosphere at The Village Hotel was warm and celebratory. Guests mingled over delicious cocktail-style food, sharing laughter and stories from the day. Speeches brought a mix of tears and laughter, with heartfelt words from family and friends celebrating Amy and Ben’s love story.

The first dance was a highlight, as Amy and Ben swayed together under twinkling lights, completely lost in the moment. The night ended on a high note with a rousing rendition of “Eagle Rock,” a nod to tradition that had everyone on their feet. It was the perfect conclusion to a day filled with love, laughter, and memories to last a lifetime.

Basket Range Wedding at the Manor – Jamie & Connor

When Jamie and Connor chose to say “I do” at The Manor in Basket Range, they didn’t just pick a venue – they picked a slice of magic. Nestled in the picturesque hills of Adelaide, The Manor is known for its stunning gardens, rustic charm, and unique character. The day they selected for their wedding happened to be one of the sunniest, brightest days in living memory, which added an extra layer of beauty to their already breathtaking celebration.

Though bright sunlight can pose a challenge for photographers, this couple was up for anything. Their energy was contagious, and the whole day radiated with excitement and love. From their first look to the final toast, every moment at Jamie and Connor’s wedding was one for the books.

Pre-Ceremony Photoshoot

As any seasoned wedding photographer will tell you, taking photos in full midday sunlight isn’t always the easiest. The harsh midday sun can cause shadows, squinting, and hot spots that aren’t ideal for those timeless wedding photos. But, somehow, Jamie and Connor made it work – and in the best way possible!

As we wandered around The Manor’s gardens, it felt like we were in our own little world. The shade from the trees provided us with moments of relief from the direct sun, allowing us to take full advantage of every magical corner of the venue. We made sure to stop and take advantage of the lush surroundings, from the vibrant flowers blooming in the garden to the perfectly manicured lawns that framed the chapel in the distance.

We made sure to make the most of the small garden behind the chapel. Here, the sun’s angle was just right, making it the ideal spot for a few tender moments captured between Jamie and Connor. We couldn’t resist taking a stroll over to the orchard across the road, where the trees added an air of serenity to the photos. With each step, the couple’s love story unfolded beautifully in front of the lens, and the anticipation for the ceremony grew.

Basket Range Wedding Ceremony at the Manor

The ceremony itself was an absolute dream. The little chapel at The Manor provides the most charming backdrop for exchanging vows, and the couple couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. Despite the challenges that come with bright sunlight, this stunning location never fails to deliver its best side. The bridal party took their places on the steps, and I positioned myself to capture every emotion as it unfolded – the joy, the anticipation, the love.

While the bright sun made it tricky to get the perfect shots of the entire bridal party, there was no shortage of moments to capture. The ceremony was filled with heartfelt speeches, shared laughter, and a few happy tears.

The heartfelt ceremony wrapped up with their first kiss as newlyweds and also a rather unique signing of their marriage certificate involving their dogs and ink on their paws! Was one of the best things I’ve ever seen!

Lunch time Reception

After the ceremony, everyone moved to the lower area of The Manor for a lovely lunch reception. While everyone was mingling, eating, and celebrating, I saw the opportunity to steal Jamie and Connor away once more for a few post-ceremony photos. The earlier part of the day had been sunny and bright, but now, as the afternoon began to settle in, the lighting became absolutely perfect for a few final shots.

We made our way back to the gardens, this time with the sun lower in the sky, casting a soft, warm light that made for stunning photos. It was the kind of light that made everything glow. Jamie and Connor, who had been so easygoing and fun throughout the entire day, were now more relaxed than ever, and their joy radiated in every shot.

Of course, we couldn’t resist a few playful shots with the bridal party, who had gathered for a celebratory group photo in front of the castle keep. Everyone was so excited, and there was a carefree energy in the air. It was the perfect way to wrap up the day’s photoshoot, capturing the joy and exuberance that Jamie and Connor’s wedding exuded.

Sam and Wayne’s The Manor Basket Range Engagement Shoot was nothing short of magical! As a photographer who’s shot around 10 weddings here this year alone, I know every nook and cranny of this historic castle-like venue. But this shoot had something special—a quiet, almost serene atmosphere as Sam and Wayne had booked a room for a public holiday. With no weddings on that day, they had the entire place to themselves, creating a uniquely intimate experience for their engagement photos.

It’s rare to see The Manor so quiet. Usually, it’s bustling with wedding guests, vendors, and celebrations, but on this day, it felt like their own private castle. The only slight hiccup was not being able to fully access the iconic Romeo and Juliet balcony. But with a bit of clever positioning and perhaps a little post-editing magic, we still captured stunning moments that made it feel as if the whole venue was at their disposal. The weather played along perfectly, too, with a soft golden light filtering through the clouds, giving us that dreamy, glowing backdrop photographers love!

Taking Advantage of Golden Hour

We started the shoot in one of my favourite spots at The Manor—behind the chapel in the garden. The sunlight was at just the right angle, peeking through the trees and casting a warm, golden glow over the couple. The way Sam and Wayne looked at each other, bathed in that soft light, was pure magic. You could feel their connection through the camera. It’s moments like these that make engagement photography so rewarding.

After soaking up the garden vibes, we wandered towards the front of the castle. The grand stone architecture framed Sam and Wayne perfectly, making them look like royalty for a day. The timing couldn’t have been better—the sun continued to dance between clouds, casting everything in a light that photographers dream about. Sam’s smile, Wayne’s relaxed demeanor—they were a perfect fit for this timeless location.

A Picturesque Stroll Through The Orchard

Next on our agenda was a stop at The Manor’s orchard, which was in full bloom. The pops of fresh white blossoms against the deep greenery made for some incredibly romantic photos. Sam was absolutely glowing in her dress as she walked through the rows of trees hand-in-hand with Wayne. The atmosphere was calm, almost ethereal, and you could feel the love and anticipation for their future wedding.

Sam and Wayne were naturals in front of the camera, needing very little direction. Their joy and love for each other shone through every shot. The blooming orchard not only provided a stunning visual backdrop but also added a sense of fresh beginnings—perfect for an engagement shoot. And with Wayne making Sam laugh between shots, it was easy to capture their candid moments that truly tell the story of their relationship.

Chad kicked off the morning with his groomsmen in high spirits. The energy was infectious, and it was all about the boys having a good time. Meanwhile, Viola’s preparations were just as stunning but with a completely different vibe. Set in the beautiful Gawler Park Estate, the scene was elegant and filled with anticipation. Viola and her family soaked in the luxurious surroundings of this opulent estate, and it was such a joy to photograph these moments. The bridal gown, the laughter between Viola and her family, and the soft light that poured through the estate’s windows created a serene atmosphere. Gawler Park Estate Pre-Ceremony Photos

One of the absolute highlights of the day had to be the photos taken at Gawler Park Estate before heading for their Thorn Clarke Wines wedding ceremony. With the rolling hills, cherry blossoms, and even some grand ruins as a backdrop, we had the perfect setting to capture some truly timeless shots. Despite the wind, Viola’s veil fluttered beautifully as we took glamour photos with the Clydesdales that Chad had arranged for her arrival by horse and cart. It was such a thoughtful touch, and Viola’s delight was clear.

Chad, not one to shy away from some playful antics, accidentally knocked over his best man in a hilarious attempt to leap into the group for a photo. After the ceremony, we made the most of the stunning Thorn Clarke Wines and Gawler Park Estate for some post-ceremony glamour shots. The horse and cart made another appearance, providing the perfect addition to the photos as the couple shared some quiet moments together. There’s something so romantic about those moments right after the ceremony, when the couple can take a breath and enjoy each other’s company amidst all the excitement.

As the sun began to set, we headed back to the ruins at Gawler Park Estate for some absolutely magical photos. The ruins, combined with the soft glow of the sunset and the rolling hills, created an unforgettable scene. It was here that we were joined by a little black cat, who decided to follow us around as we took photos. Viola and Chad were absolutely charmed by the cat, and it brought a playful and unexpected touch to these intimate shots. It was a moment of pure serendipity that added an extra dash of personality to their day.
