Imagine the pure joy of a wedding day followed by an adventurous shoot at Semaphore Beach, to the west of Adelaide. That’s exactly what Jess and Tim, a vibrant couple, did the day after their wedding. The Stamford Grand in Glenelg had witnessed their vows, and now it was time for some unconventional fun – a Wreck the Dress shoot!
Semaphore Beach, with its picturesque setting, was the perfect canvas for this shoot. The iconic Palais in the background added a touch of elegance, contrasting wonderfully with the playful antics to come. We started cautiously, not wanting to get Jess’ stunning gown too wet too soon. The beach’s natural elements, like the sand dunes and the historic jetty, provided a fantastic backdrop as we eased into the shoot.
Semaphore Beach Wreck the Dress Shoot Before Sunset
As the afternoon progressed, our daring duo became more adventurous. Running through the shallow waters, Jess’ wedding dress danced with the waves, creating a magical scene. I had this idea to extend the dress with the seafoam, and although the water was still, a little Photoshop magic did the trick. Jess was all in for my creative whims, and the results were breathtaking.
The setting sun soon cast a golden glow over Semaphore Beach, creating the perfect ambiance for the next part of our shoot. As the sun dipped just behind a cloud, we seized the moment. Jess and Tim ran through the surf, their laughter echoing against the sounds of the waves. The golden hour at Semaphore Beach isn’t just a time; it’s a spectacle, and we captured its essence beautifully.

Sunset
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, we continued our Wreck the Dress shoot. The energy between Jess and Tim was palpable, their love and joy infusing every photo. This wasn’t just a shoot; it was a celebration of their bond, set against the backdrop of one of Adelaide’s most stunning beaches.
I suggested pushing the boundaries further – maybe a full dive into the water to really ‘wreck’ the dress. While Jess and Tim were intrigued, they decided to save that for their anniversary. And I can’t wait for that! Capturing their love story as it unfolds, with the help of my submersible cameras and drones, will be another exciting chapter.

Semaphore Beach was more than just a location for this shoot; it was a character in Jess and Tim’s post-wedding adventure. As an Adelaide wedding photographer, I’ve seen many beautiful locations, but the unique charm of Semaphore Beach during a sunset is unmatched. The calm sea, the soft sand underfoot, and the picturesque jetty all played their part in creating unforgettable memories for Jess and Tim.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of Moseley Square in Glenelg, Jess and Tim’s Stamford Grand Wedding was nothing short of magical. The sun-drenched balcony of the Stamford Grand offered a breathtaking view, setting a radiant stage for this lovely couple to exchange vows.
The charm of Glenelg, with its vibrant atmosphere and stunning beachfront, complemented the elegance of Stamford Grand perfectly. As a photographer, capturing the essence of this location, intertwined with Jess and Tim’s story, was an exhilarating experience. Their choice of venue reflected their love for Adelaide’s unique beauty, and as their wedding photographer, I aimed to encapsulate every moment with the same authenticity and love.
Preparation
The day began with Tim and his groomsmen at the Grand’s Horizons Cocktail Lounge, a space that exuded a classic, antique charm. As Tim readied himself for the day ahead, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement. The groom and his party, looking dapper in their suits, were a picture of elegance against the lounge’s sophisticated backdrop.
We ventured outside, exploring the quaint streets of Glenelg. The blend of urban and seaside elements made for some stunning photographs. Capturing Tim and his groomsmen against diverse backdrops, from the bustling Moseley Square to the serene Glenelg Jetty, added a dynamic and vibrant touch to their photo session.

As an Adelaide photographer, I always look for unique elements to incorporate into my photos. The room’s elegant décor and the stunning view of the Glenelg beachfront offered just that. Capturing Jess in these moments of anticipation and joy, with the backdrop of her beautiful hometown, was an absolute delight.

Stamford Grand Wedding Ceremony
The balcony ceremony at Stamford Grand was a scene right out of a fairy tale. Overlooking Moseley Square, the sunlit setting created an ethereal atmosphere. Despite a brief concern about a lively group in the Grand Bar, the Stamford staff skillfully managed the situation, ensuring a serene and intimate ceremony.
The ceremony was a testament to Jess and Tim’s love, surrounded by their nearest and dearest. The sun’s rays, casting a golden glow over the couple as they said their vows, made for some truly enchanting photographs. The joy and love shared on that balcony were immeasurable, and as their photographer, capturing these heartfelt moments was incredibly fulfilling.

Glamour Photos
Post-ceremony, we utilized the grand staircase at the center of the hotel for some stunning group shots. The staircase, with its opulent design, added a touch of grandeur to these photographs. We revisited the Horizons Cocktail Bar for more intimate couple shots, making the most of its vintage charm.
The beach and various scenic spots along the Glenelg foreshore served as our canvas for the glamour photos. Jess and Tim, against the backdrop of the sun setting over the ocean, created a breathtakingly romantic scene. Every location around Glenelg offered a unique element, adding depth and diversity to their wedding album.

Seafire Wedding Reception
The day’s celebrations continued at the Seafire restaurant. Although my time there was brief, the ambiance of the reception was lively and joyous. Capturing Jess and Tim cutting their cake was a highlight, as their smiles and laughter were infectious. The couple’s excitement for their upcoming ‘wreck the dress’ shoot the following day was evident, and their energy was a photographer’s dream.

As their wedding photographer, it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of Jess and Tim’s Stamford Grand Wedding, a day that undoubtedly captured the essence of love and the beauty of Adelaide.
Oh, the magic of West Beach in Adelaide! It’s a place where the golden sands meet the endless blue skies, creating a perfect backdrop for romance. This is exactly why Micaela and David, a gorgeous couple whose love story is as enchanting as the setting, chose this spot for their engagement shoot.
Their story adds an extra layer of warmth to the shoot. A thoughtful friend from Singapore, who sadly can’t make it to their Adelaide wedding, gifted them this engagement session. What a heartwarming gesture, right? It’s not just about capturing moments; it’s about creating memories that will last a lifetime, especially for those who can’t be there.
West Beach Engagement in the Sand Dunes
West Beach is not just any beach; it’s a treasure trove of natural beauty, and its recently rejuvenated sand dunes are a testament to that. These man-made marvels provided the perfect setting for Micaela and David’s engagement shoot. Imagine climbing these soft, sandy hills, feeling the grains slipping beneath your feet, all while capturing the essence of love and commitment.
These dunes, with their undulating contours, offered us a canvas to create the illusion of an isolated desert oasis, right here in Adelaide. The way Micaela and David looked at each other, with eyes sparkling like the ocean nearby, it was as if they were the only two people in the world. Their love, so pure and evident, made every shot a masterpiece.

As the day progressed, the magic of West Beach continued to unfold. Micaela and David, adventurous at heart, embraced the spontaneity of the moment. They kicked off their shoes, playfully splashing in the shallow waters, their laughter mingling with the gentle sound of waves. This wasn’t just a photoshoot; it was an experience, a celebration of their journey together.
And then came the sunset – oh, what a sight! The sky transformed into a canvas of oranges, pinks, and purples, reflecting beautifully on the water’s surface. It created a surreal backdrop for Micaela and David. The way the soft, warm glow of the sunset illuminated their faces, highlighting their expressions of love and joy, was nothing short of spectacular.

As a wedding photographer, witnessing Micaela and David’s affection and capturing these moments was a privilege. Their love story, combined with the stunning landscape of West Beach, made for an unforgettable shoot.
So, to all the lovebirds out there planning their special day in Adelaide, remember this: your love story is unique, and it deserves a setting that complements its beauty. West Beach, with its enchanting sand dunes and mesmerizing sunsets, might just be the perfect place for you.
Botanic Gardens Palm House Wedding – Kelly & David
As an Adelaide photographer, I’ve had the joy of capturing many beautiful weddings, and Kelly and David’s Palm House wedding at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens was a dream come true. Nestled under a majestic gum tree in the northern part of the gardens, their ceremony space was nothing short of enchanting. The sun graced us with its presence, bathing the entire area in a warm, golden light. Thankfully, Kelly and David had thoughtfully arranged large umbrellas to shield their guests from the sun’s intensity, adding a touch of elegance and comfort to the setting.

David’s anticipation was almost palpable as he waited for Kelly, his eyes occasionally darting towards the white carpet (a color he was initially unsure of, but which turned out to be perfect!). When Kelly made her entrance to their Palm House Wedding, fashionably late, the atmosphere was electric. The ceremony was filled with laughter and heartfelt moments, especially during the humorous retelling of their initial Facebook exchanges. It was a privilege to witness and capture these moments, making sure each photograph reflected the joy and uniqueness of their special day.

Glamour Photos
Post-ceremony, the bridal party and I embarked on an exploratory photo session around the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The gardens, with their diverse landscapes and stunning backdrops, provided the perfect canvas for our glamour shots. We journeyed through lush greenery, pausing at picturesque spots to capture the essence of the day. The light was soft and flattering, ideal for highlighting Kelly’s radiant beauty and the couple’s palpable love.
As the day progressed, the air grew slightly cooler, bringing a refreshing change to the atmosphere. This shift in weather added a dynamic element to our photo session, as we played with different settings and moods. The bridal party was a joy to work with, their energy and enthusiasm infusing each photo with a sense of fun and spontaneity. By the end of the session, we had an array of stunning photographs that truly encapsulated the essence of Kelly and David’s love story.

The Lion Hotel Wedding Reception
The day’s festivities continued at The Lion Hotel, where Kelly and David had planned their reception. Situated in the heart of North Adelaide, The Lion Hotel boasts a unique charm, blending historical elegance with a modern twist. The cellar, where the reception was held, provided a cozy and intimate setting. Its rustic ambience was the perfect backdrop for the evening’s celebrations, creating an atmosphere of warmth and familiarity.

As the evening unfolded, the cellar came alive with laughter, music, and dancing. The joy and love in the room were almost tangible, making it a delight to photograph. Guests mingled, shared stories, and celebrated the newlyweds in a setting that felt both grand and intimate. The night was filled with memorable moments, from heartfelt toasts to lively dance moves, each one a testament to the couple’s journey and the bonds they share with their loved ones.
As a photographer, capturing these moments in a way that felt true to the spirit of the day was both a challenge and a privilege, resulting in a collection of images that Kelly and David will cherish for years to come.
Ayla and Drew’s intimate wedding was nestled in the heart of Adelaide’s enchanting Botanic Gardens, specifically at the Palm House Gardens. Amidst the natural beauty of this iconic Adelaide location, their wedding stood out for its unique gothic flair. The usual large-scale affair was gracefully scaled down due to unforeseen circumstances, yet the joy and love remained magnified.
Ayla and Drew’s choice to celebrate at the Palm House Gardens, a gem in the northern section of the Botanic Gardens, couldn’t have been more perfect. The contrast between the gothic elements of their decor, featuring intriguing skulls and stunning black dresses, against the lush, green backdrop of the gardens, created a visually striking palette. Despite the overcast weather, the couple’s radiant smiles and evident affection for each other brightened every moment, making my job as an Adelaide photographer a delightful experience.
Palm House Gardens Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was nothing short of magical. Set against the whimsical backdrop of Palm House Gardens, Ayla and Drew exchanged vows that were heartfelt and deeply personal. The intimate setting of the ceremony, surrounded by the natural splendor of the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, added a layer of serenity and romance to their exchange. Each word of their vows resonated with the sincerity and depth of their commitment, making it a truly memorable moment for everyone present.
As they promised each other a lifetime of love and support, the cloudy skies seemed to echo the solemnity and depth of the occasion. The gothic theme, with its elegant dark tones, creating a unique and captivating ambiance. Their ceremony, a beautiful blend of traditional romance and contemporary style, perfectly encapsulated the essence of a modern fairy tale wedding in Adelaide.

Botanic Gardens Glamour Photos
Following the ceremony, we embarked on what I like to call a ‘whirlwind photography tour’ around the Botanic Gardens. With only two hours to capture the essence of Ayla and Drew’s wedding day, we strolled through the verdant landscapes, finding picture-perfect spots at every turn. The gardens, with their diverse flora and beautifully landscaped areas, provided a stunning backdrop for our glamour photoshoot.
The challenge of the day was working around the ongoing Illuminate Adelaide festival. The presence of black boxes scattered throughout the gardens required a bit of creative photography and some post-production magic. However, this didn’t deter us from capturing the beauty and romance of the day. The photos turned out spectacular, each one telling a story of love, joy, and the enchanting setting of the Botanic Gardens.
