Glenelg’s Partridge House Wedding Ceremony

Arriving at Glenelg’s Partridge House, we were met with a surprise. The ceremony was set up on the lawns in front of the house, fully exposed to the midday sun rather than under the famed tree many ceremony take place under. It was a striking visual, guests framed against the heritage façade, but the heat presented its own challenges. From a photography and videography standpoint, the sun demanded quick thinking.

With cameras at risk of overheating, we improvised, cooling equipment with bags of ice to keep everything running smoothly. It’s moments like these that highlight the behind-the-scenes realities of wedding days, where adaptability becomes just as important as creativity. Despite the heat, the atmosphere remained upbeat and focused.

Holly’s entrance was radiant, her confidence shining as she walked toward Laurence – even though we had a bit of a mishap with her veil :). The Donato’s Reception centre provided the perfect contrast to the ceremony, offering a modern atmosphere, and a sense of anticipation as the space came together. The reception unfolded at an easy pace, with speeches that balanced humour and heartfelt sentiment. Friends and family shared stories that painted a full picture of Holly and Laurence’s journey, drawing laughter and emotion in equal measure.

Fireworks, dry ice, and the sunken dance floor combined to create a cinematic moment that felt straight out of a movie. From the city, we made our way towards the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, a favourite location for good reason. On this particular day, the gardens were buzzing with visitors. It’s a popular time of year, and parking proved to be a challenge. A few laps around Plane Tree Drive were required before finding a spot in the side streets across the road. Brianna and Alice waited near the Friendship Gates, completely unfazed. There was no rush, no stress, just time to breathe and enjoy the moment.
