SvenStudios Wins the 2024 Onkaparinga Business Awards

What a fantastic way to finish off 2024! SvenStudios has officially been named the winner of the Captivating Creative Services category in the Micro Business division at the 2024 Onkaparinga Business Awards. This recognition feels like such an honour and a beautiful affirmation of the hard work, creativity, and dedication that goes into every wedding we photograph. This win is a testament to the amazing couples we’ve had the privilege of working with and the incredible journey we’ve been on as a local business here in the Onkaparinga region.

Winning the Captivating Creative Services category was unexpected but incredibly exciting after winning back in 2022, but missing out in 2023. It’s truly the perfect representation of what SvenStudios stands for—capturing life’s most beautiful moments with creativity and style. The Onkaparinga Business Awards are all about celebrating the innovation and hard work of small businesses within the community, and being recognised in the Micro Business division gives us a chance to not only celebrate our own achievements but to also acknowledge the wonderful network of local businesses we are fortunate to be a part of.

The Onkaparinga Business Awards: A Glimpse Into the Best of Local Entrepreneurship

The Onkaparinga Business Awards are more than just an annual ceremony—they are an expression of the outstanding entrepreneurial spirit that drives local businesses throughout the region. These awards offer an opportunity to celebrate the innovation, resilience, and creativity that businesses in Onkaparinga bring to the table. Each year, the event highlights businesses that are excelling in areas ranging from retail to professional services, hospitality, and creative industries.

In 2024, the awards were particularly significant as they showcased businesses that have not only survived but thrived during challenging times. The Captivating Creative Services category, in particular, sought to honour businesses that are pushing the boundaries in creative work and capturing the essence of their clients in unique and inspiring ways. As a wedding photographer, creativity is at the core of everything we do, so it was especially meaningful for us to be recognised in this category.

The Micro Business category is particularly special because it shines a light on small businesses, often run by passionate individuals or small teams, that are making a big impact. At Sven Studios, we are proud to be a part of the local community, serving couples and families with exceptional photography services, all while maintaining a hands-on, personal approach. Winning this category feels like a reflection of the incredible work our clients trust us with each year.

What Winning Means for SvenStudios

Winning the Captivating Creative Services award in the Micro Business category feels like such an honour because it validates everything we’ve worked so hard to achieve. This isn’t just an award for SvenStudios; it’s an award for every couple who’s invited us into their lives to capture one of the most important days of their journey together. It’s a recognition of the countless hours we’ve spent not only taking photos but refining our craft, learning new skills, and constantly challenging ourselves to innovate and push the boundaries of what wedding photography can be.

As wedding photographers, we thrive on storytelling. We’re always looking for ways to make each shoot as unique as the couple we’re photographing. From the first consultation to the final photo album, everything we do is tailored to reflect the personality and love story of each couple. To be recognised for this creativity and attention to detail feels incredibly rewarding. Winning this award isn’t just about the recognition, though—it’s a reminder to always keep pushing forward, to keep evolving, and to keep offering our clients something that’s not just good but captivating.

Our Journey: From Passion to Award-Winning Business

When we first started SvenStudios, it was with the simple goal of sharing our love for photography with the world. Our mission was always to provide couples with beautiful, authentic wedding photography that would allow them to relive their special day for years to come. Over time, that passion grew, and we refined our approach, invested in better equipment, and honed our skills.

Fast forward to today, and the business has expanded beyond our wildest expectations. This award acknowledges all of the hard work, the long hours, and the relentless pursuit of creativity that has gone into every photo we take. From the meticulous planning and editing that happens behind the scenes to the way we craft an experience that’s memorable for our clients, this win reinforces that we’re on the right track and doing something truly special.

Looking Ahead: Continuing the Creative Journey

Winning the Captivating Creative Services award is only the beginning of a new chapter for Sven Studios. While we’re thrilled to receive this recognition, we’re also incredibly focused on the future. The wedding photography industry is always evolving, and we’re committed to staying at the forefront of that evolution. New trends, new techniques, and new technologies are constantly emerging, and we can’t wait to incorporate them into our work.

But beyond the technical side of things, we’re excited to continue telling the stories of the incredible couples we work with. Every wedding is a unique adventure, and we approach each one with fresh eyes, ready to capture the moments that matter most. This award gives us the motivation to continue delivering the best possible service to our clients and to keep improving in every aspect of our business.

In the years to come, we look forward to collaborating with even more talented local suppliers, expanding our creative offerings, and continuing to contribute to the growth of the Onkaparinga business community.

A Big Thank You to Everyone Who Made This Possible

We couldn’t be more grateful for the support that has led us to this point. A huge thank you to the Onkaparinga Business Awards for this incredible recognition, and to our clients who trust us with their most precious memories. To the local businesses and the entire Onkaparinga community, thank you for making this win possible. We can’t wait to continue creating stunning, captivating moments for our clients and to keep pushing the boundaries of wedding photography. Here’s to many more years of creativity, collaboration, and celebration in this wonderful community!

DANCING THE NIGHT AWAY

MARRIED AT SNEAKY’S, ANGLE VALE

Kirsty and Christopher agree that they wouldn’t change a thing about their
big day as it was “perfection”.
After two years of planning, Kirsty says she loved every step of the process
from picking out vendors to organising decorations.
“We were very blessed that nothing went wrong and all our first-choice
vendors were available for our date,” Kirsty says.
The couple’s wedding was full of highlights from their early morning
wake-up call to dancing into the wee hours of the morning.
“I think the biggest highlight is having your loved ones there helping you
celebrate the best day of your life,” Kirsty says.
The reception featured an incredible Italian-inspired menu featuring
pizza, arancini and meatballs. The pair cut into a delicious white chocolate
and raspberry cake from Lee’s Cakes.
DJ Tommy T from Signature Entertainment brought the ultimate party
vibes, as well as a photo booth, light-up letters and a smoke machine to
bring an extra level of romance to the newlywed’s first dance.
“Our first dance was a mashup of First Dancin by 2 Lane Summer and I
Don’t Want To Miss A Thing by Aerosmith,” Kirsty says.
Kirsty and Christopher’s love story started with a swipe after matching on
Tinder in 2019. Christopher popped the question while the couple were
spending the weekend binge-watching the Harry Potter series. “He kept
walking in and out of the lounge room and I thought he was sick but turns
out he was just super nervous, but it was the easiest yes I’ve ever said,”
Kirsty remembers.
The pair honeymooned in the Whitsundays, and also visited Brisbane and
Airlie Beach.
Kirsty, 30, is the daughter of Paul and Shirley Ortmann, of Happy Valley,
and Christopher, 32, is the son of David Bligh, of Enfield, and Kristy Night
of Paralowie.

Adelaide’s Sunday Mail Spotlights Emily & Andrew’s Wedding

As a wedding photographer, each ceremony I capture is a unique narrative of love, a single day filled with countless, irreplaceable moments. Yet, every so often, a wedding comes along that not only marks the union of two souls but also captures the imagination of a wider audience. Such was the case with a recent celebration I had the honor of photographing, which garnered the attention of none other than Adelaide’s Sunday Mail in their November 5th, 2023 edition.

The setting for this enchanting day was the picturesque Adelaide Hills at the House on Haines, where unfortunately the weather wasn’t overly kind for this lovely couple, but the smile certainly brightened everyone’s day regardlesss. It was here, amid the whispers of the eucalyptus and the elegance of the sprawling estates, that our couple, Emily and Andrew, chose to exchange their vows.

The photographs captured throughout the day more than just the aesthetics of a well-planned wedding; they encapsulated the essence of Emily and Andrew’s bond, a narrative so compelling that it caught the eye of Adelaide’s Sunday Mail. It was a thrill to see the images featured, not just for the professional recognition but because it signified that the magic of that day resonated with others as profoundly as it had with me.

Fateful night led to love

Emily Beckett and Andrew Caridi

Married at House on Haines, tea Tree Gully

Emily and Andrew’s wedding was a fun day filled with many personal touches, including a cake based on their favourite video game and a Millenium Falcon guest book.

Duo Cake Design made the whimsical custom cake, featuring the couple dressed in vault suits from the video game Fallout.

The couple’s two pooches, toy poodle Lucy and golden retriever Luna, had the very important role of being ring bearers for the day, something the couple say they couldn’t have had their special day without.

Emily’s dress, a fitted floor length gown with a plunging v neck, was picked from the Bride Lab.

Emily and Andrew mee 10 years ago through old friends and had been talking over Facebook before deciding to meet again.

“The night we did my car got hit by a road train, thankfully my friend and I were OK,” Emily says.

“We pulled over and my now husband chased the truck to his depot in Port Adelaide and we met them there. Since that day we have been inseparable.”

After being together for five years, and leaving Emily to think it was never going to happen, Andrew finally proposed.

“I had planned a weekend away at Stirling, we went out to dinner and then we went for a walk down to the park and he proposed within the gazebo,” Emily says.

“My reaction was full of happiness, I hugged him before I gave him an answer and before he stood up, faily sure I suffocated him a bit.”

The couple jetted off to see the sights of Japan for their hooneymoon.

Emily, 29, is the daughter of Martin and Leanne Beckett, of Blakeview, and Andrew, 29, is the son of Rita and Bill Sargeant, of Ingle Farm.
