Coromandel Valley Wedding – Simone & Marty

Simone and Marty’s Coromandel Valley wedding was an absolute delight, filled with love, laughter, and the kind of relaxed charm that perfectly suited this lovely coouple. The sun graced the day with its warm glow, illuminating every moment shared between these two wonderful people. Their venue, the serene Sturt Valley Linear Park, was the ideal backdrop for a celebration that felt more like an intimate gathering among close friends and family than a traditional wedding.

I’ve known Simone since I was very young. She was my families go-to masseuse for years and one of the first supporters of my photography journey. I still remember her purchasing one of my prints from Japan. Seeing her on her wedding day, glowing with happiness, was a special full-circle moment. My Mum still keeps in touch with Simone, making this wedding feel like a reunion of sorts.

Preparation

Marty started his big day in a truly unique setting—his boxing club. It’s not every day you see a groom slipping on cufflinks next to punching bags, but this setting felt so authentically him. The space was brimming with energy, and we had a great time snapping some playful shots inside the ring. Marty and his groomsmen embraced the fun with matching hats that added a touch of flair to their outfits.

The boxing club’s gritty charm added contrast to the elegance of the day. Candid moments of laughter mixed with a few serious portraits made for a memorable session. It was clear that Marty’s friends shared his sense of humor and camaraderie, and those emotions came through in every frame.

Simone’s preparation was lovely and laid back. She and her bridesmaids got ready on the back deck of a friend’s house, bathed in the sun. Her dress, a masterpiece of delicate details, hung among the trees across the road for some dreamy pre-wedding photos.

The bridal party ventured to a nearby canopy of trees for group photos, where the dappled sunlight added an ethereal glow to the images. Simone’s joyful spirit was contagious, and her bridesmaids matched her energy with laughter and excitement. The arrival of the limo, slightly too big for the quaint side street we were heading to for the cermeony, only added to the fun.

Coromandel Valley Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place in a charming public BBQ area of Sturt Valley Linear Park. A circular floral arbor stood proudly by a bubbling creek, creating a picturesque and intimate setting for Simone and Marty to exchange their heartfelt vows. Guests gathered under the shade of tall trees, enjoying the tranquil sounds of nature.

The simplicity of the ceremony was its strength. With genuine emotions and heartfelt promises, Simone and Marty held everyone’s attention. Following the ceremony, a nearby marquee offered a smorgasbord of delicious food, with guests mingling, laughing, and soaking up the laid-back picnic-like atmosphere.

As the afternoon faded, the newlyweds and I headed to the enchanting Thorngrove Manor. This hidden gem is a photographer’s dream, with its whimsical architecture, manicured gardens, and regal charm. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Simone and Marty glowed in the golden light, their love as radiant as the scenery.

With just a small group of their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows in the heart of Adelaide before jetting off to Indonesia for a larger celebration. It was a day filled with joy, heartfelt moments, and creative photo opportunities that captured their love story in a uniquely Adelaide setting.

Jacob began his morning in one wing of the stunning Yatahlia Manor, surrounded by classic elegance and his best man. The manor’s stately design and thoughtful details offered the perfect setting for some pre-ceremony moments. The billiard room became a hub of activity, with its rich textures and classic lines making for striking photos. Jacob’s sharp suit complemented the timeless charm of the space, and the laughter shared between him and his best man added an energetic buzz to the air.

Outside, the manor’s grounds provided even more opportunities for creative photography. The reflections in the pond, the sweeping lawns, and the symmetry of the building created a visual feast. We kept Jacob carefully tucked away as Stacey’s dress was photographed in the glass-walled formal dining area, ensuring the surprise was preserved.

Stacey’s morning unfolded in the opposite wing of Yatahlia Manor, a space filled with light and anticipation. As her makeup was being perfected, her maid of honor and mother shared stories and laughter, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. Stacey’s dress was a showstopper, and we made full use of the manor’s grandeur to showcase its intricate details. The spiral staircase, the classic furnishings, and the lush gardens all played their part in the story.

Once Stacey was ready, the excitement reached a new level. Her radiant smile lit up every corner of the manor as we moved through the gardens and the beautifully designed interiors. From the soft glow filtering through the trees to the stately elegance of the manor’s architecture, each shot highlighted the joy and love that marked the beginning of this special day.

First Look Photoshoot

The first look took place in Yatahlia Manor’s enchanting gardens, where dappled sunlight streamed through the trees. Jacob’s smile when he saw Stacey was brighter than anything the sun could muster. The emotions of this moment were palpable, and it was a privilege to capture the connection between them as they embraced, laughed, and soaked in the magic of seeing each other for the first time that day.

Before heading to the ceremony, we also staged a first look with Stacey’s dad. His proud expression and the tender moment they shared created another layer of heartfelt emotion. The garden became the backdrop for family portraits, capturing the warmth and happiness of their nearest and dearest. It was a serene yet joyful interlude before the next chapter of the day.

Adelaide Hills Inglewood Inn Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony at the Inglewood Inn was bathed in soft shade, thanks to the towering trees that surround the space. The natural canopy created a tranquil setting, enhancing the beauty of the vows exchanged. Guests watched with beaming smiles as Stacey and Jacob made their promises, their love resonating through every word.

Seeing familiar faces in the crowd was a delightful surprise, including Tahlia and Alex, whose wedding we had covered in 2020. The connections and shared stories added an extra layer of meaning to the day. Following the ceremony, we orchestrated a grand group photo using a drone, capturing everyone in a celebratory moment that echoed the joy of the occasion.

Glamour Photos

The Inglewood Inn’s grounds offer an incredible variety of backdrops for glamour photos. We started with the historic bridge, the oldest still in use in South Australia. Its rustic charm and the surrounding greenery provided a romantic setting for some truly captivating images. The nearby creek added a touch of natural beauty, with its gentle waters and leafy surroundings enhancing the mood.

As the sun began its descent, we ventured out to the grassy hill for sunset photos. The golden light wrapped around Stacey and Jacob, creating a dreamy, ethereal quality. These moments felt like pure magic, with the couple’s joy and the stunning scenery combining to create photographs that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Inglewood Inn Wedding Reception

The reception upstairs at the Inglewood Inn was a lively and heartwarming celebration. Stacey and Jacob’s guests were treated to a night filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and energetic games that kept everyone entertained. The space was filled with love, and the atmosphere was electric as friends and family shared stories, toasted the happy couple, and celebrated their union in style.

As the evening progressed, the energy only grew. Dancing brought everyone to their feet, with the joy of the day spilling onto the dance floor. The room buzzed with happiness and connection, carrying the celebration well into the evening. The Best Darwin Wedding Venues

As a wedding photographer with the privilege of working across Australia, I often find myself traveling to some of the best Darwin wedding venues in order to cover a wedding. Darwin is an exceptional setting for a wedding, offering options for every couple—from laid-back, tropical vibes to sophisticated waterfront venues. The city’s natural charm and unique character make it a standout location for tying the knot.

Darwin wedding photography is as vibrant and culturally rich as the Northern Territory, known for its stunning sunsets, waterfront precincts, and tropical weather. The city’s fascinating history dates back thousands of years as the traditional land of the Larrakia people, and it remains a hub for cultural and natural exploration. Today, Darwin’s relaxed atmosphere and breathtaking scenery make it a favorite destination for weddings, drawing couples from across Australia and beyond.

Whitehill Wedding in Mclaren Vale – Jess & Jack

Jess and Jack’s Whitehill wedding at Whitehill Estate in McLaren Vale was a celebration brimming with laughter, heartfelt moments, and a hint of adventure. The day kicked off with a breezy morning, but by the time the festivities began, everything had settled into pure perfection. This iconic venue, nestled in the heart of South Australia’s premier wine region, offered a stunning backdrop for every part of their magical day. There’s something truly special about a McLaren Vale wedding, and Jess and Jack’s celebration showcased the charm of this beloved location in spectacular fashion.

One of the highlights of this wedding was its sheer energy and fun. From Jack’s playful entrance to Jess’s impromptu dance sessions, every moment was infused with joy and personality. While their plans for a “trash the dress” shoot the following day had us hoping for clear skies, the weather played its part beautifully on their big day. The excitement, however, didn’t end here—stay tuned to see what unfolded the next day in the next blog post… but for now, the wedding!

Preparation

The morning began at Jack’s parents’ house, perched on cliffs overlooking the dazzling sea. The breathtaking views set the stage, but let’s be honest, they had nothing on the lively group of groomsmen. Jack and his crew brought unmatched enthusiasm to the morning, swapping jokes and indulging in just the right amount of mischief. With everyone in high spirits, the laughter echoed through the house, making the preparation time a delightful affair.

Jack’s arrival at Whitehill Estate was a moment no one will soon forget. Channeling his inner captain, he made a grand entrance riding in the back of his tinny (a small boat for non-Aussies), waving proudly as if he were navigating the high seas. This playful touch not only reflected Jack’s personality but set the tone for the rest of the day—laid-back, fun, and full of surprises.

Jess opted to get ready on-site at the charming historic bed and breakfast within Whitehill Estate. The house’s timeless elegance complemented the bridal party’s vibrant energy. Jess, ever the life of the party, was not one to sit still. Between hair and makeup touch-ups, she and her bridesmaids hosted an impromptu dance-off on the back patio, all while keeping themselves hidden from early guests. The air was filled with laughter, chatter, and excitement, a perfect precursor to the festivities ahead.

The house provided a treasure trove of stunning backdrops. From the ornate hallways to the picturesque outdoor settings, every corner was picture-perfect. One standout moment was Jess’s first look with her “something blue,” a playful twist on tradition featuring two friends decked out in blue outfits. And of course, her first look with her father was a deeply touching moment, with emotions running high in the best way possible. These little touches showcased Jess’s unique personality and her knack for making every moment memorable.
