After Emre and Sara held their wedding ceremony insterstate, they wanted to celebrate with their family and friends back here in Adelaide!
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t brilliant for our Adelaide Bridal Photoshoot in the Botanic Gardens, and around North Terrace, but we got some great shots despite trying to keep Sara’s spectacular dress as clean as possible before their reception at the San Giorgio La Molara Community Centre.
Preparation
Both Emre and Sara shared a Mayfair Hotel room to be prepared alongside Sara’s bridal party. Everyone was running about trying not to get in each other’s way before heading out for photos, but the atmosphere was otherwise energetic and exciting!
There was aplan to make use of the Hennesy Rooftop bar, only to realise that the bar needed to be booked far in advance – it was ok though as we were running a fair bit late already before heading out to meet their wedding car.

Adelaide Bridal Photoshoot
The weather put a bit of a hamper on mobility throughout our Adelaide bridal photoshoot, with Sara’s incredible dress taking a bit of moving each time we moved locations. It ceratinly made for some fun shots though, I particularly enjoyed when we carried her train across King William Road with the whole bridal party! Certainly made everyone smile!
After clambouring into their car, we head over to Botanic Park to make use of the beautiful Moreton Bay Fig trees and head into the Adelaide Botanic Gardens via the northern Friendship Gates.
As we were trying to keep Sara’s dress as clean as possible for their reception later, we attempted to stay on the concrete paths throughout the Botanic Gardens, and even head into the famed Bicentennial Conservatory Dome to avoid any rain.
We then head to North Terrace for a few shots in front of the pretty architecture in front of the buldings along there and also the Old Police Barracks behind the Adelaide Museum.
We even found time to drive to Adelaide Arcade and the Adelaide Railway for a few photos there – all the while attempting to avoid the rain as much as possible.

San Giorgio La Molara Community Centre Reception
After our whirlwind Adelaide bridal photoshoot, we headed to the San Giorgio La Molara Community Centre for a reception full of traditional dancing and performances, including a grand entrance complete with drummers and dry ice.
Throughout the night, traditional Afghan cuisine was served and circle dancing from different groups took place, culminating in a fun knife dance where the groom had to steal the cake-cutting knife from a dancing family member.

The whole day was great fun and I’d like to thank Emra and Sara for having us at their Adelaide Bridal Photoshoot and their wedding celebration!
Rita and Chad held their Sferas wedding on a lovely, if not a bit chilly day in late June surrounded by their closest family and friends!
They made use fo the on site chapel for their ceremony, with photos throughout civic park, before returning back for their Sferas wedding reception.
Preparation
When I arrived at Chad’s place of preparation, I was greeted by numberous pets and animals, including the most impressive collection of large, talking parrots who kept me company as I began taking photos of Chad’s groom accessories.
Chad’s groomsmen were running late a little, and Chad preoccupied himself running aorund the house a bit for a cat he had temporaly misplaced, which meant we had not much time left for photos before we had to head off to Sferas for Rita’s preparation.

Rita and her bridal party were being prepared in the largest room available at the Sferas Convention center. The room boasted a huge, curtained window suited for hanging the wedding dress on, only it has no view as it overlooks the main Sferas lobby.
As rita and her bridal party were being prepared with hair and makeup, my wife and I busied ourselves simply documenting what was going on. At one point we also popped downstairs to get a few shots of the reception setup.

Sferas Wedding Ceremony
The Chapel area of Sferas, hidden behind it’s main ballroom, and overlooking the nearby Civic park was Rita and Chad’s ceremony venue. The space alows for two rows of chairs set up with a grand piano and wall covered in green ivy as the backdrop.
Rita and Chad’s ceremony was a simple affair with heartfelt personal vows exchanged before sharing rings, and their first kiss.

Glamour Photos
After having everyone on the grass nearby for a group photo using the drone, Rita, Chad and their bridal party went for a little walk about Civic park for a few glamour photos. After I had taken a few with the bridal party, they wewre able to retire back into the warm Sferas building, while Rita, Chad and I went for a further walk across the street to the lovely weeping willow nearby for more photos.
I felt a bit bad having Rita walk all that way as the weather was getting a bit chilly, and it wasnt a short walk in a wedding dress!

Sferas Wedding Reception
Once photos were complete, and Rita had a bit of time for retouching makeup and having guests take their seats, Rita and Chad were announced as husband and wife at their Sferas wedding reception.
The highlight of the night was definitely the dry ice first dance they had organised, while everyone seemed to also have a blast with my photobooth which I had set up in the morning.
Festivities ran late into the night, culminating with a bouquet toss, and garter throw before the newly wedded couple exited under a traditional archway made from their guests.

The weather was the biggest question mark over Tori and Aaron’s The Manor in Basket Range Wedding ceremony taking place in front of the little chapel they have on site – but it all turned out for the best! The rain held off right up until late at night, which made things perfect for a bit of reflections in their night-time photos!
The overcast weather actually really helped running about the castle as the whole place just came alive in the most delightful way for photos!
Preparation
Despite Aaron and his boys starting to get ready just around the corner from where i live in Aberfoyle Park, Aaron opted to have all his preparation phtos done at the Manor, so we began the preparation photos with Tori and her bridal party being prepared also at the Manor. The plan was to use the two separate empty rooms located above the main entrance to the ‘castle’ keep.
It turned out to be a rather convenient set up actually, allowing us to flit inbetween Tori and Aaron’s preparation without having to wander too far away from the other.
We were able to have Tori’s father help out with Aaron’s tie, also had a little first look of the dress, while even allowing their flower girl’s dolls to make an appearance in some of their photos.

The Manor in Basket Range Wedding Ceremony
As I mentioned, the weather was threatening to rain all morning, leading up to Tori and Aaron’s wedding ceremony – in fact it even started to drizzle just before Tori was due to walk down the garden path towards the ceremony, but it held off nicely, and their ceremony was a delight to be a part of.
Tori and Aaron had prepared their own heartfelt vows which made everyone in attendance run the gamut of emotions, while those who could not attend were honoured with ther lighting of a ceremonial candle.
Their ceremony concluded with Tori and Aaron running through a huge amount of white petals – so many in fact it was quite ticky to grab a photo where you could actually see their faces! It was as though they were running through a blizzard.

Glamour Photos
For glamour photos, the weather was starting to get a bit of chill in the air, so I knew we had to keep moving, first to keep warm, but also to beat any potential rain that may be coming in the near future. Thankfully the rain held off until later in the night, but I wasn’t to know that.
We began by walking around the Manor’s grand entrance driveway with the whole bridal party, so that they could get back into the warm as fast as possible, before I took just Tori and Aaron for a bit of a longer walk from the orchards on the other side of the road, back towards the garden area just behind the chapel in front of which they were wed a few hours prior.

The Manor in Basket Range Wedding Reception
Tori and Aaron’s wedding reception took place in the lower of the two reception areas available at the Manor in Basket Range. This allowed for the use of the large under-cover terrace overlooking the chapel’s gardens, while also being rather intimate and cozy inside.
During their reception, speeches were held, the shoe game was played, and Aaron certainly made it his mission to keep everyone well watered and on the dance floor as much as possible throughout the night!
At the end of thenight, Tori and Aaron had planned for a bit of a silly posed shot where they were to look like they had a bit of a bender that night – so I suggested bringing some empty dominos pizza boxes and throw them around on the ground amongst emptry rum bottles and furniture on the ground to make it look like they really blew the place up! All good fun 🙂

Thanks so much to Tori and Aaron for having both myself and my wife at your Manor in Basket Range wedding! was an awesome day!
I head out to the delightful Veale Gardens on south terrace recently to meet this loving mother and her two sons who had asked me to conduct a simple little Adelaide parklands family phtoshoot with them!
We began in the small carpark behind the Pavillion Restaurant, which alowed us to start with the gum trees and have a more Australiana backdrop to their first photos. As the weather hadn’t been fantastic lately, there was plenty of puddles to use, while the greens were lovely and lush throughout.
We then head over the hill, walking along the man-made river that courses throughout the Veale Gardens and using some of the vantage points I know have worked throguhout my many years of using this same area for portraits while covering weddings.
The aim of this Adelaide Parklands family photoshoot was to simply capture some nice family photos for Mum to put up on the wall, in particular some individual portraits of her boys, while also having a bit of fun together, and I think our little walk about the park ceratinly achieved that!

I was very much looking forward to covering Jesse and Luke’s Pilgrim Uniting Church Wedding from the moment they asked me to be their wedding photographer, and my excitement was well founded – what a celebration it was!
So much so that I know it’s hard to show while reading this blog but I’ve been sitting here staring at my screen thinking about what next to write. Jesse and Luke were surrounded their entire day with loving family and friends who just made their day that much better – let alone the incredible celebration they had planned that night!
Preparation
Jesse and Luke were prepared in separate rooms at the Hilton Hotel, in sight of the Pilgrim Uniting church across Victoria Square in the center of the Adelaide CBD. This was great as I was able to flit inbetween their rooms while they were being prepared – if things weren’t progressing in one room, then I’d head over to the other, and visa versa until it was time to leave for the ceremony.
Both Jesse and Luke were prepared with their parents and their entourage which made the whole time kind of hectic, but also quite a bit of fun trying to get everything ready to go.

Pilgrim Uniting Church Wedding Ceremony
Jesse and Luke’s Adelaide Pilgrim Uniting Church wedding ceremony was quite an impressive sight with it’s albiet dark, but impressive architecture inside. Jesse and Luke also had a chior singing below the church’s impressive organ which made for a beautiful atmosphere!
Both Jesse and Luke were walked down the aisle separately with their mothers after their fathers had lit ornamental candles on the church’s altar which I thought really helped bring both families togetheras part of their ceremony involved Jesse and Luke sharing the flames into one candle.
readings were read, vows were shared and Jesse and Luke were married!

The weather wasn’t the best all day, so we were quite lucky to be able to have the entire congragation out on the church’s steps for a group photo before heading back inside for smaller group photos.
Once they were done, we used the stunning interior of the church for a few shots with their entourage, while also waling around the church a bit to use it’s wonderful architecture. As the weather wasn’t great I was delighted to see that the church had turned on it’s outside lighting earlier than usual, so we got an awesome glow coming out of the archways at the front – was fun to use.
We then sped over to the Adelaide Railway station for a few photos, while dodging all the Crows fans who were walking through to get to Adelaide Oval at the same time.
Finally during the reception, and in the rain we head out to Victoria square to use the pretty lighting thats set up!

Adelaide Hilton Wedding Reception
Jesse and Luke’s wedding reception at the Hilton was certainly one to remember! Huge chandeliers framed the gigantic cake they had set up in front of the head table, fireworks flamed into life during Jesse and Luke’s entrance and first dance, and to top it all off a 19 piece band was playing all night as entertainment! In their own words their wedding theme was ‘gaudy’!
What made me crack up was a quip from Jesse that even the cake wasn’t straight – and indeed it wasnt, as it was leaning offto one side due to it’s enormous size!
Their whole night was full of plenty of drinking, fun and dancing, culminating in the throwing of bears that held a likeness to Jesse and Luke in liew of any bouquet toss.

It had been a little while since covering a same sex wedding, so covering Jesse and Luke’s Pilgrim Uniting Church wedding was awesome to be a part of, particularly at the beginning of pride month! Thankyou for having me and I hope you enjoy your photos!
