The grandeur of St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral made for a spectacular setting for Michelle and Renwick’s ceremony. This historic landmark in the heart of Adelaide is nothing short of breathtaking, with its soaring ceilings and intricate stained-glass windows casting vibrant colours throughout the space.

As Michelle arrived, her elegant entrance turned every head, and the ceremony unfolded with a mix of solemnity and love. The couple’s faith was at the heart of their vows, with prayers and blessings anchoring the service in tradition. Being able to document their exchange of promises in such a magnificent setting felt truly special.

Belair National Park Photos

After leaving the cathedral, we headed to the Belair National Park and its charming train station for some glamour shots. This combination of rustic charm and natural beauty is one of my favourite spots for wedding photography in Adelaide. The old station, with its vintage textures and timeless appeal, provided a stunning contrast to the lush, sun-drenched surroundings of the park.

The late afternoon light filtered through the trees, creating a golden glow that seemed to wrap around Michelle and Renwick as they shared quiet moments together. The balance of serene nature and the couple’s chemistry brought these images to life, offering a different energy to the earlier formal shots at the cathedral.

Backyard Wedding Reception

The reception, held in the backyard of Michelle’s family home in Aberfoyle Park, was a joyful celebration that felt worlds away from the regal cathedral ceremony. Twinkling fairy lights, long tables brimming with delicious food, and an atmosphere of relaxed festivity set the stage for an unforgettable evening.

Guests mingled, laughed, and toasted to the happy couple, while the dance floor was alive with energy well into the night. Warwilla Cliff Home Wedding – Mikala & Nick

Mikala and Nick’s Warwilla Cliff Home wedding was a perfect blend of relaxed elegance and stunning natural beauty. Nestled on the edge of the River Murray, this riverside property offered breathtaking views of the iconic orange sandstone cliffs that define the Riverland. The couple’s big day unfolded with all the charm of the region, from their intimate ceremony to the laid-back reception at the Renmark Hotel. As their wedding photographer, it was such a joy to capture the essence of their love story against the incredible backdrop of one of Adelaide’s most picturesque settings.

Preparation

Mikala and Nick’s wedding day began with a relaxed and fun vibe, typical of the laid-back energy that defined their entire celebration. The couple chose to get ready at Warwilla Cliff Home, a charming bed and breakfast nestled along the iconic cliffs of the Riverland. The house itself, modern and spacious, provided an excellent backdrop for both the bride and groom’s preparations. Mikala, eager and excited, was tucked away in the upper portion of the house, which gave her plenty of room to move around and prepare for the big moment. Her bridal party kept the atmosphere lighthearted with laughter, jokes, and some last-minute touch-ups on makeup and hair.

Meanwhile, Nick was tucked away in one of the smaller granny flats under the main house. As relaxed as he was about everything else, there was one thing he had been concerned about—his beloved car. The car, however, had some opinions of its own. It wasn’t too keen on gravel roads and had decided it didn’t want to move without a little extra assistance. So, the crew had to have it towed into position, and it added a little bit of comedy to the start of their day. The love Nick had for that car was evident, and while Mikala was surrounded by excitement, Nick stayed cool and calm, ready for the next steps of the day.

Warwilla Cliff Home Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony was everything Mikala and Nick could have hoped for—short, sweet, and unforgettable. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the River Murray and the towering orange sandstone cliffs, it didn’t take much to make the moment magical. Their intimate guest list, just close family and friends, created an atmosphere of closeness and warmth. Despite the sun beating down in full force, the energy remained lighthearted and fun. It was a quick ceremony, which, on such a hot day, was a relief for everyone involved, including their guests.

The real moment of excitement came during the first kiss—Mikala and Nick sealed their vows with a dramatic, yet playful confetti cannon! As the kiss was shared, a burst of colourful confetti showered the couple and their guests, adding an element of surprise and joy that perfectly matched the celebratory mood. After the ceremony, guests were able to mingle on the grass, enjoy the stunning views, and celebrate the newlyweds in a relaxed, intimate setting. With the sun high above and the cliffside as a stunning backdrop, it was truly a ceremony to remember.

Glamour Photos

When it comes to capturing the glamour of a wedding, the setting is everything. The Warwilla Cliff Home was the perfect location for these iconic bridal portraits. With the vast river in the distance and the rugged beauty of the surrounding cliffs, there was no shortage of breathtaking shots to take. Mikala, looking radiant in her dress, was glowing in front of the camera, her bridal party standing by as her support system. The light, airy mood in the photos was a perfect reflection of the love between Mikala and Nick, as well as the overall spirit of their big day.

We didn’t stray far from the property for glamour shots, as the immediate surroundings provided such a stunning variety of settings. The large, grassy area out front provided a peaceful atmosphere for some candid moments, while the house itself offered some stunning modern touches that gave the photos an elevated, chic vibe. As the couple posed with the river in the distance, the rolling hills and cliffs in the background painted the perfect picture of a riverfront wedding. It was a laid-back but gorgeous set of photos, perfectly encapsulating their relaxed and joyful energy.

To finish off the glamour photos, we ventured just a short drive to the nearby cliff face for some extra dramatic shots. The location, with its jagged rocks and sweeping river views, provided the perfect contrast to the softer beauty of the Warwilla Cliff Home. With Nick’s beloved car in the frame, it all came together for a stunning series of images that Mikala and Nick could cherish for a lifetime.

Renmark Hotel Wedding Reception

After the glamour shots were complete, it was time for the reception, which was held at the Renmark Hotel. Located in the heart of Renmark, this venue is known for its relaxed and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect choice for Mikala and Nick’s laid-back celebration. It wasn’t a large crowd, but the vibe was just right for an intimate, personal evening of celebration. Guests enjoyed a casual yet elegant meal, while the couple shared laughs and memories with their nearest and dearest. The focus was on enjoying each other’s company and making lasting memories—no frills, just good times with the people that mattered most.

We made sure to sneak out for a few more photos before the sun set. As the golden hour approached, we caught the most incredible lighting for a few final shots outside. There was a peaceful stillness around the Renmark Hotel, and we wandered toward the nearby riverbank to capture some candid shots with the ducks. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Mikala and Nick shared a quiet moment by the water, the final photos of their wedding day capturing a sense of peace and calm after an exciting day of love and celebration. These intimate shots truly reflected the serenity of the Riverland and were the perfect end to a perfect day.

Coromandel Valley Wedding – Simone & Marty

Simone and Marty’s Coromandel Valley wedding was an absolute delight, filled with love, laughter, and the kind of relaxed charm that perfectly suited this lovely coouple. The sun graced the day with its warm glow, illuminating every moment shared between these two wonderful people. Their venue, the serene Sturt Valley Linear Park, was the ideal backdrop for a celebration that felt more like an intimate gathering among close friends and family than a traditional wedding.

I’ve known Simone since I was very young. She was my families go-to masseuse for years and one of the first supporters of my photography journey. I still remember her purchasing one of my prints from Japan. Seeing her on her wedding day, glowing with happiness, was a special full-circle moment. My Mum still keeps in touch with Simone, making this wedding feel like a reunion of sorts.

Preparation

Marty started his big day in a truly unique setting—his boxing club. It’s not every day you see a groom slipping on cufflinks next to punching bags, but this setting felt so authentically him. The space was brimming with energy, and we had a great time snapping some playful shots inside the ring. Marty and his groomsmen embraced the fun with matching hats that added a touch of flair to their outfits.

The boxing club’s gritty charm added contrast to the elegance of the day. Candid moments of laughter mixed with a few serious portraits made for a memorable session. It was clear that Marty’s friends shared his sense of humor and camaraderie, and those emotions came through in every frame.

Simone’s preparation was lovely and laid back. She and her bridesmaids got ready on the back deck of a friend’s house, bathed in the sun. Her dress, a masterpiece of delicate details, hung among the trees across the road for some dreamy pre-wedding photos.

The arrival of the limo, slightly too big for the quaint side street we were heading to for the cermeony, only added to the fun.

Coromandel Valley Wedding Ceremony

The ceremony took place in a charming public BBQ area of Sturt Valley Linear Park. A circular floral arbor stood proudly by a bubbling creek, creating a picturesque and intimate setting for Simone and Marty to exchange their heartfelt vows. Guests gathered under the shade of tall trees, enjoying the tranquil sounds of nature.

The simplicity of the ceremony was its strength. With genuine emotions and heartfelt promises, Simone and Marty held everyone’s attention. Following the ceremony, a nearby marquee offered a smorgasbord of delicious food, with guests mingling, laughing, and soaking up the laid-back picnic-like atmosphere.

With just a small group of their closest family and friends, they exchanged vows in the heart of Adelaide before jetting off to Indonesia for a larger celebration. It was a day filled with joy, heartfelt moments, and creative photo opportunities that captured their love story in a uniquely Adelaide setting.

Preparation

Ellie and Tom began their wedding day in the delightful Garden Pavilion at Alru Farm. Deciding to get ready together was a meaningful choice, creating a calm and heartfelt start to the day. The atmosphere was filled with excitement as they shared smiles and enjoyed the peaceful morning surrounded by the lush greenery outside.

While Tom and his father used the pavillion, we also head over to the Australia Suite, Ellie and her bridal party stayed in the pavilion. As Ellie stepped into her elegant wedding dress, the energy shifted into a quiet sense of anticipation. Her helpers buzzed around, making sure every detail was perfect. The setting provided wonderful opportunities to capture these moments, from the light streaming through the windows to the charming décor of the space.

First Look

Their first look took place in one of Alru Farm’s most enchanting spots—a grassy area framed by a tunnel of wisteria (at least I think it’s wisteria, I’m not a botanist). The walk leading up to Tom was as romantic as it was emotional, with Ellie moving gracefully under the cascading blooms.

Tom’s reaction said it all. His smile lit up the space as he turned to see Ellie for the first time in her dress. The moment was filled with pure emotion, creating a memory that will forever be etched in their hearts. After a few minutes to soak it all in, we captured some intimate portraits surrounded by the vivid flowers blooming nearby.

With Roman-style pillars adding a timeless elegance, this spot is a favorite for couples looking for something unique. Following the ceremony, guests mingled on the farmhouse lawns, enjoying drinks and laughter as the couple soaked in the warm congratulations from everyone.

Alru Farm’s expansive grounds were a photographer’s paradise, offering an array of stunning locations to capture Ellie and Tom’s special day. The manicured gardens, bursting with vibrant flowers, provided a romantic and colorful backdrop for their portraits. The winding driveway, framed by towering trees, added a dramatic and timeless element to the photos. Every corner of Alru Farm seemed to tell its own story, lending unique character to each shot.

Ellie and Tom were a dream to photograph. Their natural chemistry and genuine love for each other radiated in every frame, making my job an absolute joy. Whether they were stealing a quiet moment together under the canopy of trees or sharing a laugh surrounded by blooming flowers, their connection was unmistakable.

As the sun began its descent, the golden hour draped the property in a warm, ethereal glow. This soft light illuminated the gardens, casting long, gentle shadows that added depth and richness to the images. We basically ran to the long grass out the front of the property as I knew the sun was fading fast, but we managed to get some great shots. The soft pastel hues of the setting sun created a magical atmosphere, turning an already beautiful scene into something truly extraordinary.

Between speeches, dancing, and a joyful photo rush to include everyone, the evening was filled with laughter and celebration. As the festivities continued, we stepped out for one last photo opportunity—a stunning Milky Way shot with the iconic Alru Farm lighthouse in the foreground. It was the perfect way to end a day filled with unforgettable moments.
