The later ceremony added a touch of romance, with the golden hues of the setting sun fading into the cool glow of city lights. Chateau Apollo’s chic industrial charm set the scene for this lovely couple, and I was thrilled to capture their special day as their wedding photographer.

Chateau Apollo, nestled on Frome Street in Adelaide’s CBD, offered the perfect backdrop for Victoria and JJ’s big day. The venue’s urban vibe, exposed brick, and warm lighting provided a dreamy yet modern aesthetic that suited them perfectly. It was clear from the start that this wedding would be as unique as their love story.

Chateau Apollo Wedding Ceremony

When it came time for the ceremony, the atmosphere shifted from light-hearted to deeply emotional. As guests filled the venue, Victoria and JJ greeted each one at the door together, setting a welcoming tone. But then, all eyes turned to the dramatic staircase at the center of the venue—the star of the show for their ceremony. Victoria had a grand vision for this moment, and it did not disappoint. She descended those stairs like a queen, her dress flowing behind her as JJ watched, spellbound. Chateau Apollo Wedding Reception

Once the ceremony was over, the night transitioned into a lively reception filled with heartfelt speeches, dancing, and some unexpected surprises. One of the most impressive moments was watching Victoria—already stunning in her bridal gown—take on the role of MC. She truly commanded the room, gracefully leading the evening’s festivities with humor and warmth. It was so fitting for a bride who was already the center of attention to take on the additional role, and she did it with such ease!

Their first dance was choreographed, and it was clear they had put thought into every step. It was a magical moment, with Victoria and JJ floating across the dance floor, completely in sync. And once the formalities were over, the party really kicked off. The dance floor was packed, with everyone celebrating well into the night. There were a few hilarious moments, too—especially when someone noticed that their seating arrangement board, made from pegs, ended up being repurposed into hair accessories for the guests! It added a quirky and spontaneous element to the evening, and by the end of the night, there wasn’t a peg left on the board.

To top off an already fabulous reception, Victoria and JJ made use of our audio guest book. This is always a crowd-pleaser, and their guests didn’t disappoint! Everyone left heartfelt, funny, and sometimes tear-jerking messages that the couple will be able to listen to for years to come. There’s something truly special about hearing your loved ones’ voices long after the wedding day, and this was the perfect way to end their unforgettable celebration.

The Manor Wedding in Basket Range – Janine & Darryl

Janine and Darryl’s wedding day was nothing short of magical, even with the unpredictable weather! They chose The Manor in Basket Range, one of the most enchanting venues in the Adelaide Hills. The day was filled with love, laughter, and a dash of spontaneity. You’d never know it was raining for most of the day, given how well we dodged the weather. The Manor’s grand architecture, lush surroundings, and whimsical ambiance created a perfect backdrop for their big day.

What stood out most about Janine and Darryl’s wedding was their personal touch. From the board game dice decorating the reception tables to the playfulness of the day, it felt like I had stepped into a vibrant world full of laughter and joy. I couldn’t help but feel like at any moment, a spontaneous game of Dungeons and Dragons would break out! Their attention to detail truly made this wedding unique, reflecting their personalities and passions beautifully.

Preparation

The day kicked off with Darryl and his groomsmen, who were in high spirits from the start. Getting ready in a room on the far side of The Manor, the guys were full of energy, cracking jokes and even posing shirtless for a few fun shots. The playful atmosphere made for some great candid moments, but keeping Darryl from sneaking a peek at Janine before the ceremony added a layer of excitement. With their suits on and laughter in the air, the boys were more than ready for the big day ahead.

After the ceremony, it was time for the glamour photos, and The Manor’s sprawling grounds always provides the perfect playground. Despite the rain turning into a fine mist, it only enhanced the photos, creating a soft glow in the images. There’s something incredibly exciting about photographing a wedding at a venue we haven’t visited before, and Brooke and Arthur’s special day at Faithwood Chapel in West Lakes was no exception. After the heartfelt ceremony at Faithwood Chapel, we ventured to the iconic Port Adelaide precinct for Brooke and Arthur’s glamour photos. Port Adelaide, with its historic charm, offered a stunning contrast to the classic elegance of the chapel. Kaitlyn was getting ready in the quaintest little bed and breakfast in Nightcliff. The contrast between the boys’ boisterous antics and the girls’ more serene preparation was striking. Glamour Photos

After the ceremony and group photos, we ventured out into the beautiful surroundings of Darwin for some glamour shots. Our first stop was the front area of the Darwin Botanic Gardens, where we made the most of the funky trees that are so iconic to the area. The light was perfect—soft and golden, creating a dreamy atmosphere that was perfect for capturing the joy and love that radiated from Kaitlyn and Jake. A spontaneous champagne cork pop added a dash of fun, and the group shots amongst the trees were a highlight of the day.

But we weren’t done yet. With a little time on our hands before the reception, we made a quick stop at East Point, I affectionately call it “Pride Rock.” I always recommend this spot to couples because of the epic landscapes and the incredible photographic opportunities it offers.

The views were breathtaking, and Kaitlyn and Jake were more than willing to embrace the moment. Their love for each other was evident in every shot, and I’m so grateful we took the time to capture these special moments. It was the perfect way to wrap up the glamour photos before heading to the reception.
