Sunnybrae Rose Garden Wedding – Celina & Anuj

A Sunnybrae Rose Garden Wedding always feels like the start of something incredibly special, and Celina and Anuj’s day delivered sunshine, laughter, and all the little quirks that make a celebration feel personal. The weather offered up its best behaviour, filling the grounds with warmth. Adelaide knows how to put on a show when it wants to, and this day seemed determined to sparkle from beginning to end. That perfect golden glow kissed every corner of the garden and gave us an endless palette to work with.

Celina and Anuj created a day that fused tradition with modern flair, and the whole experience carried the energy of two families coming together with big smiles. Their guests poured into the Rose Garden with excitement, fanning themselves in the sun but clearly ready for a vibrant afternoon. Every detail held meaning, from symbols hidden throughout the décor to small gestures between family members that quietly told their own stories. It all added an extra layer of charm to an already stunning setting.

Celina’s Preparation

The morning began at Celina’s home, buzzing with the type of energy only a wedding day can stir up. The red symbols of luck plastered around the room created a rich backdrop for the early hours. Family and bridal party members hustled from one corner to another, sorting dresses, accessories, and those final touches that never seem to end. Meanwhile, Celina remained seated on the floor, calm in the middle of the morning chaos. Her ability to find a moment of stillness while everything swirled around her was almost poetic.

Every wedding has its quiet pauses hidden amongst the excitement, and this one had a beautiful balance. As hair and makeup took shape, so did the emotions. Celina’s nerves flickered through the room in gentle waves, but each time she lifted her eyes, her family grounded her. The bond in that house created a safe little bubble, giving her time to settle into the day ahead. The soft rustle of her dress, the laughter coming from the kitchen, and the constant movement made it feel like the beginning of something bigger than the timeline suggested.

First Look at the Adelaide Himeji Gardens

Our first major stop was the Adelaide Himeji Gardens. Anuj and his groomsmen waited near the rock bridge, each of them looking like the sun had been dialled up just for them in their matching suits. Their energy was contagious, filled with anticipation and pride. The plan was to use the bridge itself for the first look, but Celina’s enormous dress had opinions of its own. With the pathways narrowing and that gorgeous gown refusing to squeeze into tight spaces, we shifted only slightly to the side—still close enough to enjoy the charm of the spot without forcing anything uncomfortable.

Even though some of the trees had recently been pruned, the gardens still carried their classic serenity. The sunlight bouncing off the trimmed branches created unexpected highlights and reflections that shaped the portraits beautifully. It’s always fun when a location offers surprises like that. Celina and Anuj’s first look unfolded in a rush of emotion. Anuj’s expression gave away everything—love, excitement, the slightest bit of disbelief. Their connection filled the garden in a way even full blossom wouldn’t have matched.

Sunnybrae Rose Garden Wedding Ceremony

The Sunnybrae Rose Garden set the scene for their ceremony with its greenery framing every moment. Guests gathered beneath the trees for shade, creating a comfortable audience for the moments ahead. The floral displays and gentle breeze turned the setting into something soft and romantic. It felt as though the garden had opened itself just for this event, offering up the ideal blend of structure and nature.

Celina arrived in a decked-out red sports car that roared with personality. Watching her step out in her gown took longer than anyone expected—layered skirts, heels, and a car built for speed rather than fabric all played their part. But as soon as she began making her way down the aisle, every second of delay vanished into the background. The look on Anuj’s face as he saw her walking toward him told the whole story. Their vows flowed beautifully, and the sunlight kept drawing attention to small details—the shimmer of her dress, the movement of the petals, the soft sway of the trees above.

Veale Garden Glamour Photos

After family photos at Sunnybrae and a quick wander around the grounds, we headed back into the city for glamour shots in the always-reliable Veale Gardens. This pocket of Adelaide never disappoints, especially on a sunny day. The fountains, stone pathways, and lush greens gave us a fresh canvas to play with. The afternoon light created soft, dreamy highlights that wrapped around the couple like they were part of the scenery. Celina and Anuj slipped into this part of the day with ease, embracing the chance to relax and get creative.

Veale Gardens has its own rhythm, and the couple matched it perfectly. Their connection grew stronger with every frame, and the movement of the water behind them added an extra sparkle to the images. Between posing, walking hand-in-hand, and sharing quiet glances, these photos transformed into more than just portraits—they became little stories captured in between breaths. Adelaide really shines when gardens come alive like this, and it gave their gallery a gorgeous layer of variety before the evening celebrations kicked off.

Donatos Wedding Reception

Donatos became the final stage for the night, and it welcomed guests with warmth and celebration. I’d set up our photobooth earlier in the week, so everything was ready and waiting for their crowd. Their audio guest book sat proudly in the foyer as guests arrived, leaving heartfelt messages filled with joy. It created a lovely entrance experience and kept the energy flowing right from the moment people walked in.

Their grand entrance made an impact thanks to bright fireworks lining the walkway. Guests lit up with excitement as the couple stepped into the room, surrounded by sparkles and cheers. The night continued with dancing, heartfelt speeches, and my favourite surprise—a Labubu toss alongside the traditional bouquet toss. It was such a playful twist, sending the crowd into laughter and giving the reception its own memorable moment. Watching guests sprint, leap, and dive for that quirky little figure was pure entertainment. The room felt electric right through to the final moments of the night.

Sunnybrae Estate Wedding – Jess & Cam

Jess and Cam absolutely nailed the brief when it came to planning a day that was fun, full of heart, and uniquely them. Their Sunnybrae Estate wedding landed on a sun-soaked day—blue skies, golden light, and the perfect Adelaide warmth that makes everything feel just that little bit more magical. From the very first moment I arrived, it was obvious this wasn’t going to be your typical, run-of-the-mill wedding. There was laughter, music, sporty antics, and a whole lot of love.

Sunnybrae Estate is one of those Adelaide venues that really shines with a late afternoon ceremony. The light there glows in a way that makes everyone look like they’re living inside a romantic movie. Add in two people like Jess and Cam, who have so much personality and presence, and you’ve got the recipe for a standout day. The whole estate was buzzing with excitement, from the getting ready moments right through to the last song on the dancefloor.

Preparation

Cam was all energy and cheekiness when I met up with him at a Glenelg bed and breakfast. It was clear from the start that he was ready to lean into the day and have a blast. As a sports announcer, he was 100% in his element when he and his groomsmen did a mock “stadium walk-in” like a team entering the field. Complete with commentary and dramatic gestures, it was as hilarious as it was totally on-brand.

His family’s cricketing legacy didn’t go unnoticed—subtle nods throughout the morning, some banter between the boys, and those sporty touches made the whole vibe feel so Cam. The love heart sunnies made an early appearance and set the tone for some seriously silly, joyful photos. From tying ties backwards to impromptu backyard warm-up stretches, this crew knew how to keep it light. Honestly, it was hard to put the camera down with all the moments unfolding so naturally.

Meanwhile, Jess was getting ready just a few streets over at her parents’ house—and wow, what a vibe. The place was still decked out with cheeky hens night balloons, and the laughter coming from the girls’ room was absolutely infectious. Everyone was having a ball, and Jess was the glowing, beaming centre of it all. Her dress hung like a piece of art in the corner while glasses of bubbly were being topped up, and tunes floated through the house.

At one point, the girls headed out for a champagne spray that ended up with more giggles than spray—but it was all part of the fun. Jess’s mum was clearly soaking up every moment, and her dad? Well, let’s just say he had his emotional moment coming soon. From the makeup brushes to the final touches on the bouquet, the morning flew by in a joyful whirlwind.

First Look

There’s always something special about a first look with a parent, and Jess’s moment with her dad in their backyard was tender and teary in the best way. He beamed with pride and held her tight like he never wanted to let go. Just as the emotions from that moment settled, we brought Cam in for his first look—and that’s when things really hit home.

Cam turned around and his face completely lit up. That split-second where he took Jess in, dress and all, was priceless. The couple just melted into each other’s arms. The bridal party helped pin the flowers onto the boys’ suits—lots of fiddly bits and laughter—and we had time for a few relaxed group shots before heading out for some fun.

Glamour Photos

We made our way to Crozier Street for the bridal party shoot, and what a dream this group was to photograph. Tucked amongst the weathered red bricks and rusted textures of historic industrial buildings, they were game for absolutely anything. From dramatic dips to completely ridiculous poses, the energy was off the charts—and that’s exactly what made it so brilliant.

The juxtaposition of Jess in her flowing gown with the gritty urban backdrop gave everything such a cinematic feel. This crew weren’t afraid to be a little goofy, and those playful personalities absolutely came through in the shots. We wrapped up the session with some candid group laughs and a quick breather before making our way to Sunnybrae for that golden ceremony light.

The ceremony space at Sunnybrae had this soft glow filtering through the trees, making everything feel extra romantic and intimate. Cam’s cricket obsession and Jess’s musical background were both cheekily referenced, and the vows had everyone either giggling or wiping away a happy tear. Sunnybrae’s The Landing Wedding – Serena & Seamus

Capturing Serena and Seamus’s wedding at the picturesque Sunnybrae Estate was a privilege that comes with the joy of being an Adelaide Wedding Photographer. Set against the charming backdrop of The Landing, their day unfolded under the brilliant March sun, a perfect setting for such a splendid occasion. From the light filtering through the leaves to the smiles of the guests, every detail at Sunnybrae was a photographer’s dream.

Serena, in her stunning gown, and Seamus, dapper in his suit, radiated happiness. The warmth of the day was matched only by the warmth in their eyes. As an observer and documenter, I marveled at the seamless blend of elegance and emotion that The Landing Wedding offered—a dream venue for any couple, but especially magical for these two lovebirds.

Preparation

The day began in a bustling household, buzzing with the excitement of Serena and her bridal party getting ready. Serena and Seamus’ the Landing wedding ceremony was nothing short of breathtaking. Serena and Seamus stood under a beautifully crafted wooden arbour, which framed them perfectly as they began their new life together. The expansive grassy area was filled with guests who, despite the heat and sun, were fixated on the couple. Umbrellas dotted the scene, providing some respite from the sun, creating a colorful canopy over the assembled friends and family.

The emotional weight of the ceremony was palpable as Serena and Seamus exchanged vows that were heartfelt and stirring. The signing of the marriage certificate under the clear blue sky was a symbol of their unbreakable bond. Post-vows, the couple and their guests retreated to a shaded area, where I captured family photos—a beautiful testament to the families joining as one.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of The Landing’s stunning vistas for some glamour shots. The natural light was perfect, enhancing the romantic atmosphere of the day. The couple’s easygoing nature made the photo session a breeze, with laughter serving as the soundtrack. Even a playful smoke bomb photo with the bridal party added a whimsical touch to the collection, leaving everyone in high spirits.

Crozier Street Glamour Photos

Our next stop was Crozier Street, a locale with a completely different vibe. Known for its old industrial charm, it offered a striking contrast to the sunny landscapes of Sunnybrae. Seamus and Serena, desiring a slightly darker aesthetic for some of their wedding photos, found Crozier Street to be the perfect setting. The gritty textures and moody backdrops lent an edgy romance to the photos, capturing the couple’s unique style and the depth of their bond.

Navigating through the historic architecture, every turn and corner presented a new opportunity for a stunning shot. This part of Port Adelaide, with its rich history and distinctive character, added a layer of intrigue and sophistication to their wedding album.

North Terrace Glamour Photos

Continuing our photographic journey, we headed to North Terrace, another iconic location known for its stunning architecture. The grand buildings and sophisticated ambience of North Terrace provided a majestic backdrop. Serena and Seamus walked among the historic sites, their love story intertwined with the elegance of Adelaide’s architectural heritage.

Each photo captured here not only highlighted their love but also the grandeur of Adelaide itself. It was a photographer’s delight to frame the intimate moments against such imposing structures, creating a beautiful juxtaposition of the personal and the monumental.

Duke of Brunswick Wedding Reception

Finally, the day capped off at the Duke of Brunswick, where laughter, good food, and heartfelt speeches filled the evening. The reception was a beautiful celebration of family and friends coming together from across the globe. The Duke, with its cozy and inviting atmosphere, was the perfect place for such a gathering.

Throughout the night, I captured candid moments of joy, tears during the speeches, and the wild dance moves that followed. The Duke of Brunswick provided a relaxed yet festive environment, rounding off what was a truly remarkable day.

Sunnybrae Estate Pavilion Wedding – Ritamaree & Sydney

Ritamaree and Sydney’s wedding in mid November was certainly one to remember! Fireworks, ‘fun’ weather and lovely people all combined to produce an amazing wedding day which was really a delight to be a part of!

They held a Sunnybrae Estate Pavilion Wedding ceremony as their first choice of venue, on the grass with the square arbour was unfortunately ruled out due to weather, but this was really the only set back during the whole day which certainly never phased this lovely couple!

Sydney’s Preparation

Sydney was preparaed with his groomsmen in a room of the stunning EoS by SkyCity hotel overlooking the Adelaide Oval. The room they had was wonderfully airy and light, while we also made sure to use the stunning lobby of the hotel and even the carpark entrance for some industrial-themed shots which Sydney was a big fan of!

Ritamaree’s Preparation

Ritamaree had a bit more going on at her place of preparation – her parent’s house along side quite a few of her family and friends! They had a bit of a luncheon going which made for some lovely scenes with all members of her family.

It was quite fun to have not only a wedding dress first look with Ritamaree’s Dad and Brother, but also the majority of her bridal party hadnt seen the dress either! So we got some lovely emotions when they walked in and saw her looking radiant in her stunning dress! Not to mention the hundreds of other guests as she walked down the stairs!

We needed a bit of photoshop magic to get the cork on their champagne bottle to pop, and the bridal motorcade was running a bit behind time, but it was all smiles on Ritamaree’s face as she seemed to really enjoy the time before her big moment at Sunnybrae!

Sunnybrae Estate Pavilion Wedding Ceremony

While the weather wasn’t overly bad during their Sunnybrae Estate Pavilion wedding ceremony, Ritamaree and Sydney erred on the safe side by having their ceremony indoors rather than the original plan outside. The weather over the last few weeks was certainly not easy to forecast!

This meant that their ceremony was held in front of the wide windows overlooking the grassy field to the side of the Sunnybrae Estate.

Their ceremony itself was a nice, simple ceremony with heartfelt vows that made everyone laugh and get to know this lovely couple a little better, before exiting under petals and hugs and kisses outside under the pergola.

We did however head over to the original ceremony location for a group photo with the drone, then smaller group photos nearby the grass.

Glamour Photos

For glamour photos, we first used as much of the Sunnybrae grounds as we could before our time on site was up – which was good as we managed to capture some nature within their wedding photos before heading over to Crozier street in Port Adelaide for more industrial scenes.

Crozier street was certainly a popular spot to be on this particular Saturday as I remember seeing at least 4 other weddings rock up trying to use the area for photos – thankfully we got there first and managed to get all the best scenes!

Donato Reception Center Wedding Reception

The Donato Reception Centre was a place I had been to before, but hadnbt been to in many years and I was super exicted to shoot in here again! Ritamaree and Sydney made the most of the stunning sunken dancefloor and filled it with fireworks and dry ice for their first dance, while also playing some fun games to get people up for their bouquet and garter tosses!

Sunnybrae Wedding – Linda & Jonathon

It was a wonderful experience covering Linda and Jonothan’s Sunnybrae wedding in early November. The day was filled with fun filled family and friends, with a delightful dash of tradition and a bit of fun dodging the weather!

The day began with a traditional tea ceremony, photos at Port Adelaide’s Crozier Street and reception back at one of the Sunnybrae wedding reception spaces.

Preparation

I started my day, quite early in the morning with Jonathon and his groomsmen getting ready with his groomsmen. The morning was quite relaxed with plenty of coffee and fun trying to attach those annoying flowers!

I then head over to where Linda was being preparaed for a quick shoot of her and her being preparaed with her red dress, and some group shots with family before Jonathon arrived to begin their tea ceremony.

Chinese Tea Ceremony

Linda and Jonathon had me with them from quite early in the morning in order to cover their tea ceremony conducted with their family.

The best part in my opinion of a traditional Chinese tea ceremony like this is the fun trials the groom and his entourage have to go through in order to enter the home where they can see the bride! In Jonathon’s case, Linda had her bridesmaids ask Jonathon and his groomsmen to drink odd things, transfer a piece of seaweed between each other using only their lips and of course sing and dance so Linda could hear them!

Linda and Jonathon held tea ceremonies at two houses – the first where Linda was being prepared with Linda’s side of the family, and another at their own home with Jonothan’s side of the family.

White dress preparation

After the trea ceremonies, Linda had to change out of her red dress into her white bridal gown in preparation for the ceremony. So Jonathon left for Sunnybrae earlier while Linda and her brides maids prepared.

Sunnybrae Wedding Ceremony

When we arrived for their Sunnybrae wedding ceremony, the weather had taken a turn for the worse with a bit of rain hampering the preparations. Jonathon was weighing up their options, on whether or not to move the ceremony inside or wait until the rain passed to have the ceremony outside as planned. With the help of my weather predicting apps, I suggested we wait 15 minutes after the scheduled beginning time as the weather radar looked as though the rain would pass – and it did and they held the ceremony outside.

The Sunnybrae wedding ceremony location Linda and Jonathon chose is a permanent set up out the back of the Sunnybrae complex, complete with concrete state and permenant large wooden armour under which the ceremony takes place. There is ample room for the largest of wedding congregations on the grassy area at the fore of the stage, while the bride makes a majestic entrance walking through a wooden pargola.

 

Sunnybrae Wedding Glamour Photos

After the usual group photos which we took on top fot the concrete stage, we head out for a walk around the Sunnybrae gardens for some glamour photos.

Crozier Street Glamour Photos

We then went for a short drive to Port Adelaide’s famed Crozier street for some industial styled wedding photos. I love heading here as the lines and run down industrial nature of this road just makes for some stunning scenes!

Sunnybrae Wedding Reception

Linda and Jonathon’s wedding reception look place at the SUnnybrae Coach House, withis is a huge, rustic space suited for large wedding parties with a delightful old-time flair that sets the mood nicely!

The evening was fun to be a part of, complete with mirror photobooth, and a gelati stand for guests everyone had a great time, and even coaxed the DJ to play a few more songs after closing time!

I managed to take Linda and Jonathon around the Sunnybrae grounds for some night time shots too which I thought turned out pretty spectacular! But not as spectacular as Jonothan serenading Linda on the dance floor a bit later in the night!

The whole day was perfectly ended by a delightful sparkler send off with all Linda and Jonathon’s guests lin=ing the walkway with sparklers in hand.

It was a super long day, but there is no better job in the world than being a wedding photographer! Loved every minute of it! So thankyou Linda and Jonathon for having me and I hope you enjoy your photos!
