Glamour Photos

After the ceremony wrapped up, the focus shifted toward family photos before we lost too much daylight. Jo and Dan really prioritised capturing memories with their loved ones, which I always encourage couples to do. Jo and Dan were incredibly easy to photograph because they were so comfortable together. They weren’t overly focused on posing or trying to create perfect moments. Instead, they were genuinely enjoying being married and spending time together, which always translates beautifully in photos. Guests settled in quickly, conversations filled the room, and the excitement levels only seemed to grow once speeches began. Reception spaces at The Manor always photograph beautifully thanks to the venue’s ambient lighting and elegant styling, though it was the energy from the guests that really brought the room to life.

The speeches were filled with humour, heartfelt stories, and plenty of moments that had the room erupting into laughter. One of the major highlights of the reception was the choreographed first dance. Guests gathered tightly around the dance floor as Jo and Dan launched into their routine, and the crowd absolutely loved it. Sophie and Theodore absolutely struck gold with the weather for their Manor Basket Range wedding, greeted by warm sunshine and glowing Adelaide Hills light across the entire day. The Manor already feels incredibly grand with its castle-inspired architecture, winding gardens, and hidden pathways, though under clear blue skies the venue looked especially spectacular. Golden light filtered through the trees from the very beginning of the afternoon, creating the perfect atmosphere for a celebration that felt equal parts elegant, relaxed, and deeply personal.

I arrived early in the afternoon to begin setting up their photobooth before guests filtered into the venue later that evening. One of the lovely little perks of arriving ahead of schedule is getting to soak in the atmosphere before the pace of the wedding day fully kicks in. The Manor was calm, birds chirping through the gardens while family members quietly moved around preparing for the celebration ahead. The soft light over the grounds created the perfect introduction to what would become such a joy-filled Manor Basket Range Wedding.

Sophie and Theodore had created a day that felt deeply personal from beginning to end. Their wedding balanced elegance with humour beautifully. Meanwhile, upstairs above the main castle entrance, Sophie and her bridal party were tucked away in the darker moody rooms overlooking the grounds. These rooms inside The Manor create such a distinctive atmosphere for wedding preparation photos. The deep shadows, textured walls, vintage styling, and soft window light all combine beautifully to create dramatic and emotional imagery. The contrast between the bright outdoors and the moody preparation suites gave the gallery such wonderful variety.

Once the formalities wrapped up, we explored the stunning grounds surrounding The Manor Basket Range for Sophie and Theodore’s glamour portraits. Having already set everything up earlier in the afternoon, it was wonderful seeing everybody dive into it so enthusiastically once celebrations were underway.

Photobooths always bring out people’s playful side, especially later into the evening once speeches conclude and everyone settles into party mode. Friends piled into group shots, grandparents joined in on the fun, and the booth remained busy throughout the entire reception. The speeches themselves were incredibly heartfelt. Family members shared stories filled with warmth, humour, and emotion, creating plenty of moments where guests bounced between laughter and tears within seconds. Sophie and Theodore were surrounded by people who clearly adored them, and every speech reflected just how valued they are by their family and friends.

The Manor creates such a beautiful reception atmosphere once night falls. Warm lighting glows against the stone walls while guests spill between indoor spaces and garden areas outside. Even after sunset, the venue still feels romantic and inviting. The combination of castle-inspired architecture and Adelaide Hills surroundings gives every reception held there a wonderfully distinctive atmosphere.

Throughout the evening, the dance floor stayed lively while guests continued enjoying themselves late into the night. Smiles never seemed to disappear from anybody’s faces. Sophie and Theodore had created a wedding day that felt joyful, elegant, emotional, and genuinely fun all at once.

Manor Wedding in Basket Range – Methmini & Aravinda

There is something undeniably magical about a Manor Basket Range wedding in the Adelaide Hills. Between the stone architecture, winding gardens, towering trees, and castle-inspired charm, the venue feels like it was designed for couples wanting a wedding day that feels both elegant and deeply personal. Methmini and Aravinda embraced exactly that atmosphere for their stunning Manor Wedding, filling the day with meaningful traditions, heartfelt moments, and plenty of time surrounded by the people they love most.

The Adelaide Hills turned on one of those glorious sunny autumn days that photographers secretly adore and slightly fear at the same time. Golden light poured across the gardens and bounced off the sandstone walls all afternoon, creating beautiful warmth while also keeping everyone on their toes with some very bright conditions. It suited the energy of the day perfectly though. Everything about Methmini and Aravinda’s celebration felt joyful, vibrant, and full of life.

Their wedding never felt rushed or overly formal. The entire flow of the day centred around spending quality time with family and friends. Conversations drifted through the gardens, guests gathered beneath the trees laughing together, and every part of the day carried this relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. It was one of those weddings where everyone genuinely looked thrilled to be there.

Preparation

We began the morning with Aravinda and his best man getting ready in one of the hotel-style rooms tucked away near the front grassy area of the venue. The Manor offers so many beautiful little pockets for wedding photography, even before the ceremony begins, and the soft greenery surrounding the accommodation spaces gave us a relaxed backdrop for the start of the day.

Aravinda was calm from the very beginning. There was a quiet excitement building throughout the morning as jackets were buttoned, ties adjusted, and family members drifted in and out checking on preparations. The guys spent plenty of time outside soaking up the sunshine before the ceremony, which made for some natural and candid moments while everyone chatted together.

Meanwhile upstairs above the grand castle entrance, Methmini and her bridal entourage were busy getting ready in the rooms overlooking the venue. The atmosphere upstairs felt warm and emotional in the best possible way. Dresses hung against the stone walls, jewellery was carefully fastened, and everyone seemed equally excited for the day ahead. I was excited to see that Methmini had bought one of my bridal bouquet charms – it’s always fun to see one of the hundreds I make inbetween weddings at one of the weddings I’m actually the wedding photographer at!

Family traditions played an important role throughout the wedding. Rather than racing through preparation photos, time was intentionally carved out for moments with parents and close family members. Those quieter interactions often become some of the most treasured memories from a wedding day, and Methmini’s morning was filled with them. There was so much emotion wrapped into the anticipation of finally walking downstairs toward the ceremony.

First Look

One of the most emotional parts of the day came before the ceremony even began. Before seeing Aravinda, Methmini shared a beautiful first look with her father. These moments always carry such a unique energy. There is excitement, pride, nostalgia, and love all wrapped together in a matter of seconds.

As Methmini’s father stepped forward for the reveal, her father’s reaction instantly said everything. The emotion on his face was impossible to miss. The gardens and castle surroundings suddenly faded into the background as the family soaked in the moment together. Weddings at The Manor Basket Range always provide beautiful scenery, but moments like these are what truly shape the story of the day.

Not long afterwards, we moved into the gardens behind the small chapel for Methmini and Aravinda’s first look together. Hidden away among the greenery, the area felt private and peaceful despite guests beginning to arrive nearby. Aravinda stood waiting while guests quietly gathered in the distance, and the anticipation was written all over his face.

The second he turned around and saw Methmini, the nerves disappeared entirely. The two immediately relaxed into each other’s company. Their first look gave them a chance to spend a few quiet minutes together before the ceremony officially began, which completely changed the tone of the afternoon in the best way possible. Instead of feeling anxious, they were able to enjoy every part of the celebration together from that point onward.

The ceremony setup at this beautiful The Manor Basket Range looked incredible. Rather than using the chapel itself, Methmini and Aravinda chose the garden space to the left of the chapel for their ceremony location. The lush greenery created a soft natural backdrop that worked perfectly against the elegant styling of the arbour.

Guests filtered into the gardens while Aravinda greeted family and friends before the ceremony began. That interaction really reflected the overall vibe of the wedding. This was never about putting on a huge production. It was about celebrating with the people closest to them.

When the ceremony finally began, Methmini approached the arbour flanked by both of her parents. The sunlight streamed through the trees behind them while guests watched on quietly from the garden seating area. The moment felt timeless against the backdrop of the Adelaide Hills landscape.

One of the things I always love about filming a Manor Wedding is how cinematic the venue naturally feels. Every stone wall, winding staircase, and garden path creates movement and atmosphere for video coverage. Methmini and Aravinda’s wedding film captured that romantic Adelaide Hills feeling beautifully.

The highlight video focused heavily on the interactions between family and friends throughout the day. Because connection was such a major part of their wedding, it felt important to capture more than just the formal moments. The candid laughter during preparations, emotional reactions during the first look, guests mingling beneath the trees, and the warm atmosphere of the reception all became central parts of the final film.

Even with the brighter conditions, they stayed completely focused on each other, which always creates the best natural expressions in photographs. Rather than forcing overly posed moments, we leaned into movement and interaction, letting the venue itself shape the atmosphere around them.

The sandstone textures around the Manor paired beautifully with the soft elegance of their styling. The contrast between formal wedding attire and the castle-inspired architecture always photographs so well at this venue. Every direction seemed to reveal another gorgeous backdrop.

One of my favourite parts of shooting at the Manor is how quickly the scenery changes as you move around the property. Within a few minutes you can move from lush gardens to dramatic stonework to open grassy areas overlooking the Adelaide Hills landscape. That variety gave Methmini and Aravinda an incredible mix of imagery throughout their gallery.

The reception took place upstairs inside the larger of the two reception rooms at The Manor Basket Range. Guests filled the space quickly, creating an energetic atmosphere as everyone settled in for the evening celebrations.

As Methmini and Aravinda entered the reception together, they lit a large lantern as part of their entrance. The soft glow created such a beautiful visual moment while also adding another symbolic layer to the celebration. It suited the warmth and closeness of the day perfectly.

The reception carried the same relaxed and joyful energy that had flowed throughout the wedding. Following the ceremony, everyone moved into the marquee set up on the lawn. The transition felt seamless, keeping the energy high and the flow uninterrupted. The aisle exit continued inside, filled with cheers and celebration, and even the big group photo found its place under cover. That balance is always important — capturing what’s needed without pulling people away from the experience for too long. Georgia and James were very clear about wanting to spend as much time as possible with their guests, and that intention shaped how the portrait time unfolded.
