I had a bit of fun heading out to Salisbury to the delightful; little Little para Linear park to meet Helen and David who’s daughter had previously purchased them a gift certificate redeemable for a bit of a couple’s shoot!.
Apparently Helen and David hadn’t had any professional photos done of them since their wedding day, and even then it was just a friend who happened to have a camera, so Helen and David’s daughter decided that it was high time they had some nice photos of themselves!
Little Para Linear Park Couples Shoot
We decided to time the photoshoot so that we made the best use of the spectacular light available just before and during the golden hour whcih allowed for some spectacular golden light to filter through the trees and foliage on display throughout the Little Para Linear Park.
We met at the corner of Riverview Dr and Riverglen Ct which alowed us to go for a bit of a lap of the dry dcreek that meanders through the park, lined with gum trees and tall grass.
Helen and David seemed pretty laid back and keen to make the use of their time in front of my camera, which made things very easy for me! Always laughing, and playing about while we did some rather odd things like traipse through the undergrowth did not phase this fun loving couple – and I feel as though their photos really show this!
Was a great little photo shoot and I hope Helen, David and their daughter enjoy the photos we took!

Botanic Park Wedding – Naz & Peter
Peter and Naziera opted to hold a very small, intimate Adelaide Botanic Park wedding in front of their 3 sons, their celebrant and myself which made for a cozy little atmosphere under the stunning moreton bay fig trees on a stunningly sunny day!
Although their Botanic Park wedding ceremony was flanked by no fewer than 3 engagement celebrations and other users of the public space, their wedding ceremony felt beautifully personal regardless!
Adelaide Botanic Park Wedding Ceremony
Peter and Naz’s tiny little ceremony – which could also be called an elopement took place on one of the larger moreton bay fig trees on parade along the Botanic Park, just north of the Adelaide Botanic Garden‘s Friendship gates.
We attempted to have as little as possible behind Peter and Naziera during their cermeony so that their photos did not have anything but the stunning beauty of the park in the background. Wasn’t always possible of course, but we tried our best!
Their ceremony was short and sweet, with two of their three sons acting as witnesses on their marriage certificate.

Glamour Photos
For glamour photos, we made good use of the Botanic park’s trees, going for a little walk and trying to get the midday sun to shine through the foliage before heading into the Botanic Gardens to make use of some different backdrops.
The Moreton bay fig trees in Botanic park make for some stunning backdrops for wedding photography – I just love walking through them – particularly on sunny days such as this, the atmosphere is one of such joy and happiness when the sun plays nice!
The Adelaide Botanic Gardens as always turned it on for us, walking through we managed to make use of quite a few little spots I had grwon fond of after my many weddings I have shot through here. That being said though, the middle of the day is possibly the wost time of day to take photos through here – so I attempted to head to shadier spots to make use of the shade rather than direct sunlight.

Peter and Naz’s Botanic Park wedding ceremony was a delightful little outing, and I do hope they enjoy their photos!
Ameeta and Brenton’s wedding at the Manor Basket range was certainly one to remember! It was a lot of fun being a part of a traditional wedding I had not seen before now, while also being in the stunning surrounds of The Manor, Basket Range! It’s the best part of being a wedding photographer, and I can now add a Hindu wedding ceremony onto the list of different traditions of ceremonies I have now photographed!
Ameeta and Brenton then also held a shorter Lutheran ceremony making use of the Manor basket Range Wedding Chapel before holding a lunch time reception in the venue’s lower reception hall.
Preparation
Before heading out The Manor Basket Range I head into the city where Brenton and his groomsmen were being prepared at a hotel. The morning was jovial, with the boys making jokes while brenton’s parents and family got ready within the same room.

Ameeta was prepared before the Hindu wedding ceremony in the small room reserved for bridal preparation above the Manor’s main doorway. The colours and intricate dresses and decor on display rally made for some striking scenes and I was really enjoying myself!

The Manor Basket Range Wedding Ceremonies
As Ameeta and Brenton’s Hindu wedding ceremony had to take place on the ground, they set up their wedding ceremony location to the left of where people usually hold their ceremonies at The Manor Basket Range; in front of the little stone chapel they have on site.
This allowed for more room to add more seating for all their guests while facing directly at the ceremony. The green foliage located behind the small chapel also made for a lovely backdrop to their photos.
Hindu Wedding Ceremony
As part of the Hindu wedding tradition, the groom arrives in pompmous style only to be greeted by the bride’s family where they assess the groom and allow him to pass in a ceremonial ritual that involves the spreading of ceremonial items and the groom stepping on and cracking an urn.
I wasn’t overly clear on the meaning of all the rituals, but it was a lot of fun to document both with photography, but also with videography which Ameeta and Brenton asked me to do in order to document their ceremonies.

Once Brenton had been allowed in, then the ceremony started proper with the Hindo priest presiding over various ceremonies while chanting in Hindi. I knew Hindu wedding ceremonies tended to take a long time, but Ameeta and Brentons was a little abridged and only took a little less than 2 hours.
While taking their photos I made sure to capture each individual small movement made by both Ameeta and Brenton, along side their parents and priest in order to make sure I did not miss anything important!

Lutheran Wedding Ceremony
After a short break, Ameeta and Brenton also held a Lutheran wedding ceremony in the same area that was set up for their Hindu wedding ceremony. One of brenton’s entouage from the morning presided over the shoprter ceremony as a Lutheran priest which was spearheaded by a speech he made about the use of different items in ways not usually intended.

The Manor Basket Range Wedding Reception
After the two ceremonies, Ameeta and Brenton hosted a lunch time wedding reception at The Manor Basket range’s smaller reception area on the ground floor. The area really seems like the inside of a castle and mades for a stunning atmosphere not often found in Australia.

Glamour Photos
Both before and after their reception we made use of some of the nearby areas to create some glamour photos of Ameeta and Brenton, while family photos took place after both wedding ceremonies.
We first walked around the grounds of The Manor Basket range and used the small gardens, and of course the stunning castle-style building the Manor is famous for, and then drove down the road a bit to a small Australian forested area to mix things up a bit.
While driving them down to where they were staying in Adelaide, we even found a nifty little vineyard to take a few photos in!

Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club Wedding – Amy & Brendon
After a few false starts due to the unfortunate effect that the COVID-19 pandemic had, Amy and Brendon finally held their Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club Wedding on an overcast day in early February.
I had been looking forward to being Amy and Brendon’s wedding photographer for quite a while, having learnt much more about this couple than many others due to them having me also produce their RSVP website, writing and reading about their relationship on there – although the wedding ended up being held at a different venue.
The day was filled with fun, lovely people to be around and they all certainly turned it up a notch later at night on the dance floor!
Preparation
My day began with Brendon and his groomsmen being prepared with his parents and their ‘best dog’ which diddnt seem too keen on me that morning! Wasnt too sure about the flashing camera.
The atmosphere was jovial, with brendon running about trying to be as helpful as he can be to everyone there – perhaps to try to cover any nerves he was feeling that morning? 🙂

Amy and her bridal party was being prepared nearby at a bed and breakfast. It was a delightful house with a beautiful hall way that lead to a brightly lit master bed room where Amy got prepared.
The girls were all having a marvellous, laid back time sipping bubbly and enjoying each other’s company all morning, I’m not sure Amy ever stopped smiling!

Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club Wedding Ceremony
Amy and Brendon’s Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club wedding ceremony took place on the back directly in front of the club house. Unbeknownst to anyone prior to the day, it was a little unfortunate that the yacht club was holding a little regatta right next to where the ceremony had been set up! So hiding all the yacht trailers and people walking in the background of their photos was a bit of a challenge.
The weather was very calm, and cool due to the overcast sky which made for a perfect beach wedding ceremony. While a little bit of sunshine might have been pleasant; exposing photos on the white sand of the beach with a hot sun beating down, creating harsh shadows on faces isn’t easy – so the cloudy sky made for much nicer photo-taking conditions!
Amy and brendon’s ceremony was a lovely simple affair, with a fun little twist at the end where they randomly selected their witnesses to sign their marriage documents! This was a fun little nod to their personality, and also events leading up to their wedding day!
Amy and brendon had also asked me to live stream their wedding using my little livestream setup which worked very well for the guests who unfortunately could not attend due to COVID lockdowns.

After a (rather too quick) family shoot session – we whisked away to the Pt Willunga Jetty for glamour photos. Amy and brendon decided to head down there to make use of the stunning demolished jetty on display there.
We also made use of the nearby Kingston House gardens and made sure to head out during their reception for what was left of the sunset.

Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club Wedding Reception
Amy and Brendon’s Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club wedding reception took place in the club house upstairs, overlooking the stunning beach below where they held their ceremony.
They had my photobooth set up in the corner, complete with a custom made photobooth book I had made for them, but all focus was definately on the dance floor, which was full all night starting from the end of Amy adn brendon’s first dance!

It’s a bunch of fun heading to wedding venues that you’ve never heard of before – and Sarah and Elten’s Crabtree Farm wedding was one such occasion! I was actually really surprised I had not heard of this place sooner as it’s a delightful little rustic venue, suitable for small, intimate weddings such as Sarah and Elten’s!
Apparently the owner wanted to keep the venue a bit of a secret and not advertise it too much, but here I am to showcase this delightful spot just out of Goolwa for all to see!
Preparation
Sarah and Elten opted to have me cover their wedding for a short wedding package of only 3 hours, so I began the day with a quick trip to the on-site bed and breakfast Crabtree Farm has set up for their bridal couples to cover Sarah getting ready. The bed and breakfast was once a barn of come description, so the rustic walls, and farm decor strewn around the place really made made for a real rustic vibe.
We made good use of the setting by hanging Sarah’s dress from the rafters, and made sure to use the natural light streaming in the windows to accent the charm of the old barn.

Crabtree Farm Wedding Ceremony
When holding a Crabtree Farm wedding, it looks as though the owners have purposely built a little area, complete with chapel for congregations to muster and share the celebrations in a secluded and private area that isn’t too far away from the reception area.
The fun thing I found was apparently when holind g a Crabtree farm wedding you also get the use the on site rustic car that the owner has to run about in. It’s an old rusted out car that oozes rustic charm in it’s own right!
Sarah and Elten’s ceremony was a lovely, simple affair with their children helping out in parts acting as both the bridal party and page boys before heading back to celebrate with their guests.

Glamour Photos
For glamour photos we made use of our time walking about the farm, through a nice little walkway lined with green vines, to a horse paddock, and even climbing up a grassy knell to make use of the dead grass in the foreground of the photos.
There are old buildings all over the place, along with delightfully shaped trees and quiet roads to make use of creating a nice variety of photos, with out having too much of the same thing.

Crabtree Farm Wedding Reception
The Crabtree Farm wedding reception area is a short walk up the road, on the other side fo the private residence – (which we also asked nicely to use as there was an awesome tree within the fence!).
The reception area is as intimate and private as the ceremony area, with the grassy area lined with fencing on one side and old buildings on the other. The setting is small, without feeling closed in – it was a really nice little set up!
Sarah and Elten opted to use this time to have their family photos done here as we had not done them yet, and I was thankful they opted to, as the delightful old buildings made for a nice backdrop.
