Nestled in the heart of McLaren Vale, Whitehill Estate proved to be the perfect backdrop for Kimberley and Matthew’s enchanting wedding day. As their chosen wedding photographer and videographer, I was thrilled to capture every moment of this joyous occasion. Arriving early at the venue is part of my routine, ensuring every camera angle is set to perfection.

However, the sight that greeted me was unexpected yet utterly delightful—Matthew and his groomsmen were already there, engaging in a playful photo session with another photographer. For a moment, confusion set in, making me wonder if I had arrived at the correct venue. But of course, I was exactly where I needed to be!

The ceremony itself was nothing short of heartwarming, with Kimberley and Matthew’s two little boys inevitably stealing the spotlight. Their desire to stay close to Kimberley was evident, showcasing the tight-knit bond of this beautiful family. From the outset, as they eagerly ran up to their dad, to gradually gravitating towards their mum, these adorable boys were the centre of attention throughout. Even as Kimberley and Matthew shared their first kiss as a married couple, their sons remained the stars of the show. In a humorous turn of events, Kimberley had to momentarily pause the proceedings to attend to one of their sons’ needs—a testament to the laid-back and joy-filled atmosphere of their wedding day.

Beach Road Wines Wedding – Kaitlyn & Dan

Capturing Kaitlyn and Dan’s Beach Road Wines wedding was an extraordinary experience, especially as it unfolded on a unique, rain-drenched day in December. This was one of those rare Adelaide moments, where the rain simply decided to take center stage all day long. Nestled in the heart of McLaren Vale, Beach Road Wines offered a romantic and cozy backdrop for this special occasion. Despite the unexpected weather, the charm and warmth of the venue shone through, setting the stage for a memorable celebration.

The day was filled with love, laughter, and a few raindrops, but nothing could dampen the spirits of this delightful couple. As a wedding photographer often in McLaren Vale, I’ve seen my share of weather challenges, but Kaitlyn and Dan’s wedding was a testament to the magic that can happen when you embrace the unexpected. Their day was a beautiful reminder that even a rainy day can create the perfect setting for a wedding filled with joy and romance.

Preparation

The day kicked off with Dan and his groomsmen getting ready at Oxenberry Farm. Navigating through the rain, I found myself at the wrong cottage initially, but a quick call from Dan set me on the right path. The guys were a breeze to work with, quickly suiting up in their dapper attire, their camaraderie and excitement palpable. They shared jokes and laughter, creating a relaxed and jovial atmosphere that was a pleasure to photograph.

Despite the weather playing tricks on us, the preparation phase for Dan and his groomsmen was smooth and full of light-hearted moments. Their ease in front of the camera allowed me to capture some candid and natural shots, reflecting the genuine bond they shared. It was a fantastic start to what promised to be an unforgettable day at Beach Road Wines.

Kaitlyn and her bridal party were getting ready at a beautiful bed and breakfast in Carrickalinga, overlooking the bay. The property was stunning, a perfect setting for bridal preparations, even with the rain limiting our use of the outdoor spaces. Kaitlyn’s excitement was infectious, and her bridal party mirrored her enthusiasm, filling the room with laughter and joy.

The energy in Kaitlyn’s preparation room was electric. Despite the weather, spirits were high, and we managed to capture some fantastic shots. The camaraderie and love in the room were tangible, making every photo vibrant and full of life. The overcast weather provided a soft, natural light through the windows that beautifully accentuated the details of Kaitlyn’s dress and the joyful expressions of her bridal party. Just diddn’t want to step outside too much!

Originally planned to be an outdoor affair under the picturesque tree on the deck, their Beach Road Wines wedding ceremony had to be shifted indoors due to the relentless rain. However, the indoor setting turned out to be just as enchanting, with the intimate space beautifully decorated, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for Kaitlyn and Dan’s vows.

As Kaitlyn and her bridal party arrived in their charming combi, the excitement was palpable. The ceremony was heartfelt and beautifully simple, with each moment filled with emotion and love. The sound of rain provided a soothing backdrop as they exchanged their vows, making the ceremony even more romantic and memorable.

Post-ceremony, we took the opportunity to capture some family photos in the same cozy indoor space. Then, braving the rain, Kaitlyn, Dan, and their party ventured out for a brief but magical photo session. Armed with umbrellas and the vintage charm of the combis, we created some unique and stunning shots, embracing the rain as a natural accessory.

The weather didn’t stop us from capturing the essence of their love. The rain added a magical quality to the photos, creating a dreamy and romantic atmosphere. Sneakys Wedding – Ash & Michael

Sneakys Wedding – Ash & Michael: A Beautiful and Unique Day

Weddings are always a special affair that brings together two people who love each other and have decided to spend the rest of their lives together. However, some weddings stand out from the rest and Ash and Michael’s Sneakys Wedding was truly unique.

As an Adelaide wedding photographer, I’ve been fortunate enough to capture many beautiful weddings, but this one was definitely special. From the moment I arrived at the Northern Adelaide wedding venue, I could sense that this was going to be a day to remember – simply editing this wedding was a delight as everything was just perfect!

Preparation

As I made my way to Michael’s best man’s house, where he was being prepared, I was greeted with a warm welcome. The atmosphere was relaxed and jovial, and I could see that Michael and his son were excited for the big day ahead.

The neat little granny flat out the back was the perfect place for Michael to get ready, and after playing some basketball with his son, we captured some beautiful moments of him getting dressed. And what better way to add some flair to the occasion than to borrow a purple muscle car for some pre-wedding photos? Michael and his best man certainly knew how to make the most of their time together before the ceremony.

Meanwhile, at Ash and Michael’s house, preparations were well underway. The girls were having the final touches put on their hair and makeup, and the atmosphere was lively and fun-filled. Ash looked stunning in her wedding dress, and as she prepared for her big moment, we took some beautiful shots of her in the park across the road, where she had a lovely first look with her dad. It was such a heartwarming moment, and I knew that the ceremony was going to be equally special.

Sneakys Wedding Ceremony

Their Sneakys wedding ceremony took place on the large grassy area shaded by gum trees right next to the restaurant, which is a surprisingly beautiful venue! The setting was absolutely perfect for the occasion, and as the guests began to arrive, you could feel the excitement in the air.

The wrestling references in the hilarious vows that Ash and Michael had written for each other were definitely a highlight, and I couldn’t help but laugh as I captured the moment. The sun was shining through the trees behind them, which made for some truly beautiful shots. The only downside was the location of the public toilet block, which was a bit too close for comfort, but it certainly didn’t dampen the mood.

Glamour Photos

After the ceremony, we headed to the nearby gum tree forest for some glamour photos, and I have to say, this was one of the highlights of the day for me as a wedding photographer. The sun was shining through the trees majestically, and we had a lot of fun popping champagne corks with the bridal party in front of the industrial-style shed wall nearby.

Hosting a Sneakys wedding means you’re able to use quite a variety of backdrops for your glamour photos! The young gum tree forest nearby provided the perfect backdrop for some stunning shots, and I was having a great time capturing all the beautiful moments. As the sun began to set, we headed out into the vineyards for some sunset shots, which were truly magical.

Their Sneakys wedding reception was a lot of fun to be a part of. As it was a finger food reception, everyone was able to mingle all night, and the taps of the bar were certainly flowing freely all night long!

The speeches were hilarious, and everyone loved the junior bridesmaid‘s speech, which was definitely a highlight of the evening. As the night went on, the dance floor was packed, and everyone was having a great time. It was such a joy to see Ash and Michael surrounded by so much love and happiness on their special day.

Ash and Michael’s Sneakys Wedding was truly unique, and as an Adelaide wedding photographer, I was honored to be a part of it. From the preparations to the reception, everything was just perfect. The location itself was amazing; Sneakys, a Northern Adelaide wedding venue, was a stunning choice for a wedding.

The couple’s attention to detail was impeccable, and it showed in every aspect of the day. Vine Shed Wedding – Kat & Katie

Kat and Katie tied the knot in a beautiful Vine Shed wedding located in Mclaren Vale, South of Adelaide. It was a magical day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. The weather may have been overcast, but that did not dampen the spirits of the lovely couple and their guests!

Preparation

After having visited the Vine Shed to set up the photo booth for later in the evening, I head to Kat’s place of preparation nearby. Kat was prepared at a bed and breakfast called ‘the secret garden‘ which was a neat little studio surrounded by lush greenery which I tried to use to the fullest by placing her bridal outfit and affects withing to take detail photos.

The atmosphere was certainly laid backw ith everyone involved just keen to get on with the party! But not before recreating some important photos such as Kat helping her ‘bridesman’ tighten his tie.

Katie was getting ready on site at the accomodation available at the Vine Shed – which was a small granny flat directly below the owner’s place of residence – a short walk away from the ceremony location.

The best part about this location for getting ready was the close proximity to the vineyard which I made the most of to take photos of Katie’s bridal entourage, including the couple’s fur baby dog and of course the cute kids running about!

Vine Shed Wedding Ceremony

Kat and Katie’s Vine Shed wedding ceremony was a true highlight of the day. Two readings from friends added a personal touch to the occasion, while the sugar water ceremony, symbolizing the sweet start of their married life together, was a beautiful touch. Of course, their fur baby dog stole the show, walking down the aisle with them and melting everyone’s hearts.

Glamour Photos

After the ceremony, and group photos – including a fun ‘mark’s up‘ shot with the brides and her AFL football friends; it was time for glamour photos! The happy couple made their way to a nearby pine thicket with great haste as we were chasing the sun shinging through the clouds and the trees.

We also made sure to make use of the vineyards as a stunning backdrop before sourcing a bottle of sparking wine for a ‘spray shot witht he whole bridal party.

Also, despite the threat of rain, they were able to dodge it and get some nighttime photos with lights and smoke, adding an extra layer of magic to their already perfect day!

 

Vine Shed Wedding Reception

Heartfelt speeches from friends and family added to the emotional atmosphere of Kat and Katie’s wedding reception in the stunning reception area on site. The inclusion of a long Chinese cheer was a unique and unforgettable moment that truly brought everyone together. And let’s not forget the dancing! With a live band playing all night long, the dance floor was packed and the energy was electric.

The photobooth also had a good workout all night, capturing silly and heartfelt moments that the couple and their guests will cherish forever.

Kat and Katie’s Vine Shed wedding was a beautiful celebration of love and commitment. From the stunning venue to the heartfelt moments shared with friends and family, it was a day to remember.

White Hill Estate Wedding – Catherine & Sean

Catherine and Sean’s wedding was one that was really blessed with increidble weather! The venue of choice was the beautiful White Hill Estate, located in the heart of McLaren Vale. It was a warm and sunny day, perfect for an outdoor wedding.

Preparation

Sean and his groomsmen started their day near the beach at his parents’ house. The natural surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for some outdoor photos amongst the gum trees. The guys were all smiles as they got ready, and you could feel the excitement building in the air. Sean looked handsome in his tailored suit, and his groomsmen looked sharp in their matching attire. Catherine was getting ready at the house she and Sean had built together in Craigburn. She was surrounded by her bridal party, mum, their pet dog, and their son. It was a heartwarming scene to witness with everyone smiling and flitting about getting everything ready.

The house was filled with natural light, and the atmosphere was relaxed and happy. Catherine’s bridal party helped her get ready, and they all looked stunning in their matching floral gowns. After getting dressed, they decided to take a walk to a nearby park to take some pre-wedding photos.

Unfortunately, things took an unexpected turn when their son accidentally bumped his lip and started bleeding. It was a minor emergency, but everyone was eager not to get any blood on Catherine’s beautiful dress! Luckily, they were able to clean him up quickly and continue on with their day. It was a reminder that sometimes unexpected things happen on your wedding day, but with love and support from family and friends, everything works out in the end!

White Hill Estate Wedding Ceremony

As soon as we arrived, we could feel the excitement in the air. The guests were chatting, laughing and enjoying themselves. The venue was decorated with stunning native floral arrangements. It was clear that Catherine and Sean had put a lot of thought into every detail.

Catherine and Sean’s wedding ceremony took place in front of the lovely pond on site, surrounded by gum trees. This is always an amazingly picturesque backdrop for the exchanging of vows. It was a peaceful and serene setting, perfect for the romantic occasion.

Catherine and her bridal party approached the ceremony walking from the stunning heritage house located at the center of the property, and it was a beautiful sight to see. The house and the pond together created a beautiful and unique atmosphere that made the wedding all the more memorable.

The ceremony took place under a beautiful arbouradorned with flowers. Catherine looked stunning in her lace gown, and Sean was dashing in his tailored suit. As they exchanged their vows, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house. The love between these two was palpable.

Glamour Photos

After the ceremony, the happy couple hopped made the ost fo their amazing set of muscle cars for their wedding photos. It was a unique and fun way to capture some memorable moments. The cars made for a stunning backdrop for some of their photos.

Next up, we headed over to the nearby vineyards to take some more photos. The rows of grapevines created a picturesque setting, and the couple looked stunning against the greenery. We captured some intimate moments between Catherine and Sean, and it was clear that they were deeply in love – even though I once made them walk far too far as they couldnt hear us shouting at them from a distance! 🙂

As the sun started to set, we moved to a nearby field. The wide open space and golden hour lighting made for some truly stunning photos. Catherine’s dress billowed in the breeze, and Sean looked dapper in his suit. They danced and twirled as I captured some breathtaking shots both fromt he ground and in the air.

White Hill Estate Wedding Reception

When the light had faded, it was time to head back to the White Hill Estate function room for the reception. The last time I had shot a wedding here was many years ago, and since then they had built a neat deck area with ample room for  quite a large congregation, which was good as the original heritage chaff shed isnt exactly the largest space available.

The room was beautifully decorated with more flowers and candles and the rest of the evening was filled with laughter, food, and dancing. The DJ kept the music going, and everyone had a blast. Catherine and Sean were surrounded by their loved ones, and it was clear that they were having the time of their lives.

As the night came to a close, I couldn’t help but feel grateful to have been a part of such a special day. Catherine and Sean’s love story was one for the books, and I was honored to capture the memories as their wedding photographer in Mclaren Vale. White Hill Estate was the perfect venue for their wedding, and the beautiful McLaren Vale scenery made for some truly unforgettable photos.
