Warwilla Cliff Home Wedding – Mikala & Nick

Mikala and Nick’s Warwilla Cliff Home wedding was a perfect blend of relaxed elegance and stunning natural beauty. Nestled on the edge of the River Murray, this riverside property offered breathtaking views of the iconic orange sandstone cliffs that define the Riverland. The couple’s big day unfolded with all the charm of the region, from their intimate ceremony to the laid-back reception at the Renmark Hotel. As their wedding photographer, it was such a joy to capture the essence of their love story against the incredible backdrop of one of Adelaide’s most picturesque settings.

Preparation

Mikala and Nick’s wedding day began with a relaxed and fun vibe, typical of the laid-back energy that defined their entire celebration. The couple chose to get ready at Warwilla Cliff Home, a charming bed and breakfast nestled along the iconic cliffs of the Riverland. The house itself, modern and spacious, provided an excellent backdrop for both the bride and groom’s preparations. Mikala, eager and excited, was tucked away in the upper portion of the house, which gave her plenty of room to move around and prepare for the big moment. Her bridal party kept the atmosphere lighthearted with laughter, jokes, and some last-minute touch-ups on makeup and hair.

Meanwhile, Nick was tucked away in one of the smaller granny flats under the main house. As relaxed as he was about everything else, there was one thing he had been concerned about—his beloved car. The car, however, had some opinions of its own. It wasn’t too keen on gravel roads and had decided it didn’t want to move without a little extra assistance. So, the crew had to have it towed into position, and it added a little bit of comedy to the start of their day. The love Nick had for that car was evident, and while Mikala was surrounded by excitement, Nick stayed cool and calm, ready for the next steps of the day.

With the sun high above and the cliffside as a stunning backdrop, it was truly a ceremony to remember.

When it comes to capturing the glamour of a wedding, the setting is everything. The Warwilla Cliff Home was the perfect location for these iconic bridal portraits. With the vast river in the distance and the rugged beauty of the surrounding cliffs, there was no shortage of breathtaking shots to take. Mikala, looking radiant in her dress, was glowing in front of the camera, her bridal party standing by as her support system. The light, airy mood in the photos was a perfect reflection of the love between Mikala and Nick, as well as the overall spirit of their big day.

We didn’t stray far from the property for glamour shots, as the immediate surroundings provided such a stunning variety of settings. The large, grassy area out front provided a peaceful atmosphere for some candid moments, while the house itself offered some stunning modern touches that gave the photos an elevated, chic vibe. As the couple posed with the river in the distance, the rolling hills and cliffs in the background painted the perfect picture of a riverfront wedding. It was a laid-back but gorgeous set of photos, perfectly encapsulating their relaxed and joyful energy.

To finish off the glamour photos, we ventured just a short drive to the nearby cliff face for some extra dramatic shots. The location, with its jagged rocks and sweeping river views, provided the perfect contrast to the softer beauty of the Warwilla Cliff Home. With Nick’s beloved car in the frame, it all came together for a stunning series of images that Mikala and Nick could cherish for a lifetime.

After the glamour shots were complete, it was time for the reception, which was held at the Renmark Hotel. Located in the heart of Renmark, this venue is known for its relaxed and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect choice for Mikala and Nick’s laid-back celebration. It wasn’t a large crowd, but the vibe was just right for an intimate, personal evening of celebration. Guests enjoyed a casual yet elegant meal, while the couple shared laughs and memories with their nearest and dearest. The focus was on enjoying each other’s company and making lasting memories—no frills, just good times with the people that mattered most.

We made sure to sneak out for a few more photos before the sun set. As the golden hour approached, we caught the most incredible lighting for a few final shots outside. There was a peaceful stillness around the Renmark Hotel, and we wandered toward the nearby riverbank to capture some candid shots with the ducks. As the sun dipped below the horizon, Mikala and Nick shared a quiet moment by the water, the final photos of their wedding day capturing a sense of peace and calm after an exciting day of love and celebration. These intimate shots truly reflected the serenity of the Riverland and were the perfect end to a perfect day.

Rain or shine, love always finds a way to shine through, and Lisa and Stephen’s Beresford wedding in McLaren Vale was no exception. Nestled in the heart of South Australia’s renowned wine country, the day was a perfect blend of elegance, heartfelt moments, and a touch of playfulness. Despite a few rainclouds, the stunning Beresford Estate set the stage for a celebration that was equal parts romance and fun. From adorable page boys and furry ring bearers to the charm of vintage Super 8 video, every detail of their wedding day was a reflection of Lisa and Stephen’s unique story.

Preparation

Stephen’s morning began at the charming on-site accommodation tucked at the base of a vineyard-covered hill at Beresford Estate. The space exuded an air of relaxed elegance, a perfect fit for the day’s celebratory tone.  At first, he was nowhere to be found—a little last-minute shower, perhaps? Soon, he emerged, refreshed and ready to embrace the day, greeted by a playful atmosphere in the suite.

Inside, Stephen’s groomsmen rallied around him with jovial energy, lending helping hands as he fastened his tie and adjusted his jacket. His young son, looking every bit the gentleman in his tiny suit, added a heartwarming touch to the preparations. Stephen’s parents and grandfather were also there, bringing a sense of family unity to the morning’s excitement. Laughter filled the air as the group joked, shared stories, and enjoyed the moment. Even with rain clouds looming, spirits were high, and the camaraderie was infectious.

While Stephen’s suite buzzed with lighthearted banter, Lisa’s morning carried a quieter, more focused energy. The skies showed mercy just in time for Lisa and Stephen’s ceremony to proceed outdoors, as planned. Beresford Estate Glamour Photos

Post-ceremony, the bridal party braved the drizzle for a whirlwind glamour shoot across Beresford Estate. Time was tight, but the results were nothing short of magical. The sprawling vineyards provided a stunning backdrop, with rows of lush greenery contrasting beautifully against Lisa’s gown and Stephen’s sharp suit.

We also made use of the estate’s grand front steps, which framed the couple with understated sophistication. The peppercorn tree near the ceremony site offered a cozy spot for group photos, shielding everyone from the light rain. Despite the weather, Lisa and Stephen’s chemistry shone through, creating breathtaking images full of warmth and authenticity. Every frame captured their connection, the joy of the day, and the undeniable charm of the Beresford Estate.

Beresford Wedding Reception

As the sun set, the Beresford Estate reception hall transformed into a warm and inviting haven, adorned with elegant florals and ambient lighting. Guests were greeted with a buzzing atmosphere as the evening’s entertainment kicked off. The DJ, paired with a live saxophonist, was a surefire recipe for an electric dance floor. The unique combination had guests swaying, spinning, and laughing all night long.

Lisa and Stephen’s first dance was a highlight, their movements flowing effortlessly to the music and highlighted by firewords. The speeches were filled with heartfelt words and plenty of good-natured humor. As the evening drew to a close, the couple shared a sparkler exit with their guests. The glowing sparklers lit up the steps of the estate, creating a dazzling finale to an unforgettable day. Baby Walker – Flinders Medical Center Newborn Photography

Welcoming a newborn is a truly magical experience, and capturing those early moments is incredibly special. I recently had the honor of photographing baby Walker during his Flinders Medical Center newborn photography session. His proud mum, Nikita, reached out for a quick shoot to preserve these fleeting first days. Being based in Aberfoyle Park, it was a quick and easy trip to the hospital, and I was thrilled to meet this adorable little one.

Walker’s session was held right in their hospital room, creating an intimate and personal atmosphere. Newborn hospital photoshoots have a unique charm. They capture not only the baby’s first days but also the environment where their first chapter began. Flinders Medical Center provides a soft, natural light near the large windows, perfect for timeless portraits. With Walker peacefully resting in his parents’ arms, we created images that will be treasured forever.

Baby Walker

Walker is an absolute heart-stealer. His tiny hands, delicate eyelashes, and those little booties he wore made him look even more precious. Those booties were particularly special because they carried a story; they had been worn by his two older brothers when they were newborns, adding a sentimental touch to the shoot. The generational connection made these photos even more meaningful for the family.

One of the most endearing details about Walker is his cleft lip, a feature that adds so much character to his tiny face. It’s a beautiful reminder of his unique story. Capturing him as he is—a perfect, beloved little soul—was incredibly rewarding. His calm demeanor made photographing him a dream, and when we managed to catch a fleeting smile, it felt like magic frozen in time.

Flinders Medical Center Newborn Photography

Newborn photography at Flinders Medical Center is a service I’m thrilled to offer. Hospitals often hold such a special place in families’ hearts, as they’re the setting of those first precious days together. Nikita mentioned she was surprised that Flinders Hospital no longer offers an in-house photography service. This makes personal sessions like these even more valuable for capturing memories.

Being based just a stone’s throw away, I can easily pop over to Flinders Medical Center for quick sessions like Walker’s. Hospital newborn shoots are different from studio sessions—they’re raw, real, and filled with unfiltered emotion. The environment captures not just the baby but the whole experience of becoming a family, making each image a cherished piece of their journey.
