Adelaide’s Sunday Mail Spotlights Emily & Andrew’s Wedding

As a wedding photographer, each ceremony I capture is a unique narrative of love, a single day filled with countless, irreplaceable moments. Yet, every so often, a wedding comes along that not only marks the union of two souls but also captures the imagination of a wider audience. Such was the case with a recent celebration I had the honor of photographing, which garnered the attention of none other than Adelaide’s Sunday Mail in their November 5th, 2023 edition.

The setting for this enchanting day was the picturesque Adelaide Hills at the House on Haines, where unfortunately the weather wasn’t overly kind for this lovely couple, but the smile certainly brightened everyone’s day regardlesss. It was here, amid the whispers of the eucalyptus and the elegance of the sprawling estates, that our couple, Emily and Andrew, chose to exchange their vows.

The photographs captured throughout the day more than just the aesthetics of a well-planned wedding; they encapsulated the essence of Emily and Andrew’s bond, a narrative so compelling that it caught the eye of Adelaide’s Sunday Mail. It was a thrill to see the images featured, not just for the professional recognition but because it signified that the magic of that day resonated with others as profoundly as it had with me.

Fateful night led to love

Emily Beckett and Andrew Caridi

Married at House on Haines, tea Tree Gully

Emily and Andrew’s wedding was a fun day filled with many personal touches, including a cake based on their favourite video game and a Millenium Falcon guest book.

Duo Cake Design made the whimsical custom cake, featuring the couple dressed in vault suits from the video game Fallout.

The couple’s two pooches, toy poodle Lucy and golden retriever Luna, had the very important role of being ring bearers for the day, something the couple say they couldn’t have had their special day without.

Emily’s dress, a fitted floor length gown with a plunging v neck, was picked from the Bride Lab.

Emily and Andrew mee 10 years ago through old friends and had been talking over Facebook before deciding to meet again.

“The night we did my car got hit by a road train, thankfully my friend and I were OK,” Emily says.

“We pulled over and my now husband chased the truck to his depot in Port Adelaide and we met them there. Since that day we have been inseparable.”

After being together for five years, and leaving Emily to think it was never going to happen, Andrew finally proposed.

“I had planned a weekend away at Stirling, we went out to dinner and then we went for a walk down to the park and he proposed within the gazebo,” Emily says.

“My reaction was full of happiness, I hugged him before I gave him an answer and before he stood up, faily sure I suffocated him a bit.”

The couple jetted off to see the sights of Japan for their hooneymoon.

Emily, 29, is the daughter of Martin and Leanne Beckett, of Blakeview, and Andrew, 29, is the son of Rita and Bill Sargeant, of Ingle Farm.

SvenStudios in Top 15 Best Wedding Photographers Nationally

We are thrilled to announce that SvenStudios has been recognized as one of the top 15 best wedding photographers in Australia by the prestigious ‘Designer of Dreams’ awards run by ABIA! This is an incredible achievement for our team, and we are so proud to have been recognized for our dedication to capturing the beauty, joy, and emotion of every wedding we photograph!

For those who may not be familiar with ABIA – or the Australian Bridal Industry Academy, it is an organization that connects engaged couples with the best wedding vendors in Australia. Their mission is to provide engaged couples with reliable and trustworthy information about wedding vendors, to help them make informed decisions about their special day.

The Designer of Dreams awards are ABIA’s way of recognizing the top wedding vendors in Australia, and we are honored to have been included in this prestigious list!

ABIA Designer of Dreams 2023
ABIA Designer of Dreams 2023

SvenStudios was eligible for the Designer of Dreams award as we were finalists in the South Australian state awards for each of the last four years. ABIA requires vendors to be consistently excellent and meet certain criteria to be eligible for the Designer of Dreams award.

To be eligible as a finalist in the state awards, vendors are required to have an aggregate review score from all the bridal couples we photographed during the previous year of above 95%. SvenStudios has consistently exceeded this threshold, demonstrating their commitment to providing exceptional service and capturing the beauty and emotion of every wedding we photograph.

Our high level of client satisfaction has earned us a reputation as one of the best wedding photographers in South Australia, and now also nationally!

What makes us one of the best wedding photographers in Australia?

We believe that our success is due to our combination of technical skill and dedication to our clients. We pride ourselves on taking the time to produce photography that truely tells the story of our couples’ personalities, to understand their vision for their wedding, and to make sure that every detail is perfect. We go above and beyond to ensure that our clients are happy and satisfied with their photos.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our incredible past couples who voted for us with their incredible reviews! We’d like to thank all of you who took the time and effort to write such wonderful words expressing your love for what we produce from the bootom of our hearts!

Announcing the 2023 Wedding Photo of the year winner!

Announcing the SvenStudios 2023 Wedding Photo of the year winner!

I’m pleased to say that after another year of shooting weddings in Adelaide and around Australia, I can announce the people’s choice 2023 wedding photo of the year as shot by SvenStudios!

The photographs that were in conntention this year here were captured by SvenStudios during various weddings in 2022. The  featured couples selected these specific images as their top favorites from all of the images we provided and the photograph that received the highest votes is entitled to a product voucher worth $500 towards printing some of their photos!

This competition is a way for us to express our gratitude to all the bridal couples we have worked with during the year, while also gathering feedback on how others perceive our photography beyond our own perspective.

Please note that these photographs may or may not align with our personal favorites from the weddings – which is kind of the point of running this contest – it’s all about learning what people like! While feedback and reviews are fantastic – there nothing like having a favourite image from each wedding given to us to understand what people see in our work!

The 2023 Wedding Photo of the year winner is –

Congratulations to Sash and Dan for winning the 2023 Wedding Photo of the year! You should have now recieved a $500 voucher to go towards some prints! I’d love to see what you choose!

Announcing the 2023 Wedding Photo of the year contest!

Every year, I hold a contest for all the married couples whose weddings I covered in the previous year (2022). I request each couple to choose their favorite photo from the wedding photos I took on their big day and nominate it for the ‘SvenStudios 2022 wedding photo of the year’ title. The winning couple receives a $500 voucher to use in their personal cloud-based store to produce and print whatever products they want.

I maintain a hands-off approach with the selection of the images, leaving it entirely to the couples to choose their favorite pictures, even if they differ from my personal selection. I have created a slideshow video of my favorite images from each wedding I covered in 2022, in case anyone is interested.

To encourage more participation, I offer a cash prize of AU$100 to a randomly chosen voter after the voting period ends. To maintain fairness, I have an anti-duplicate detection system in place to deter any cheating or duplicate voting. This year, I am also adding an extra entry to the draw for anyone who shares their vote on social media.

Please note that sharing on social media is not mandatory to submit a vote, as not everyone has social media accounts. However, in past contests, the winning image has been the most voted and shared on social media. Therefore, every individual vote and share counts and goes into the draw to win the cash prize.

So, vote for your favorite photo and share it on Facebook to show your support. Remember, each vote and share is a chance to win the AU$100 cash prize.

Click here to vote and win $100!

Voting opens 25/2/2023
