There’s something incredibly exciting about photographing a wedding at a venue we haven’t visited before, and Brooke and Arthur’s special day at Faithwood Chapel in West Lakes was no exception. This charming little chapel, tucked away in the serene surroundings of West Lakes, was a delightful surprise. The chapel’s quaint, whitewashed walls exuded a simple elegance that perfectly complemented the couple’s choice of vibrant red roses, which brought a pop of color to the intimate setting.

Despite the wet weather, the atmosphere inside the chapel was warm and welcoming, with Brooke, Arthur, and their children radiating a joy that easily outshone the grey skies.

Stepping into Faithwood Chapel for the first time, we were immediately struck by its peaceful ambiance. After the heartfelt ceremony at Faithwood Chapel, we ventured to the iconic Port Adelaide precinct for Brooke and Arthur’s glamour photos. Port Adelaide, with its historic charm, offered a stunning contrast to the classic elegance of the chapel. The couple, still basking in the joy of their ceremony, were a delight to photograph as they explored the area’s hidden gems.

The final stop at Carmine and Co for their lunchtime reception was the perfect way to round off the celebrations. Kaitlyn was getting ready in the quaintest little bed and breakfast in Nightcliff. The contrast between the boys’ boisterous antics and the girls’ more serene preparation was striking. Glamour Photos

After the ceremony and group photos, we ventured out into the beautiful surroundings of Darwin for some glamour shots. Our first stop was the front area of the Darwin Botanic Gardens, where we made the most of the funky trees that are so iconic to the area. The light was perfect—soft and golden, creating a dreamy atmosphere that was perfect for capturing the joy and love that radiated from Kaitlyn and Jake. A spontaneous champagne cork pop added a dash of fun, and the group shots amongst the trees were a highlight of the day.

But we weren’t done yet. With a little time on our hands before the reception, we made a quick stop at East Point, I affectionately call it “Pride Rock.” I always recommend this spot to couples because of the epic landscapes and the incredible photographic opportunities it offers.

The views were breathtaking, and Kaitlyn and Jake were more than willing to embrace the moment. Their love for each other was evident in every shot, and I’m so grateful we took the time to capture these special moments. It was the perfect way to wrap up the glamour photos before heading to the reception.

Darwin Sailing Club Wedding Reception

The reception at the Darwin Sailing Club was a true reflection of what a Darwin wedding is all about—laid-back, fun-loving, and full of heart. Situated right on the beach, the venue offered stunning views of the ocean, with the sun setting in the background, casting a warm, golden hue over the entire scene. Kaitlyn and Jake had ensured that their guests experienced the very best of Darwin, and the Sailing Club was the perfect spot to do just that.

One of the standout moments during the glamour session was when we took to the front road, where Heny and Darren’s friend’s Porsche served as a stylish prop. The sleek lines of the car, paired with the rustic charm of the winery, made for a striking combination. These shots, with Heny’s veil billowing in the breeze and Darren looking every bit the dashing groom, were truly iconic. The luncheon was a feast for the senses, featuring an array of fresh, locally-sourced dishes that highlighted the best of what the Adelaide Hills have to offer. The meal was paired with Anvers Wines’ finest selections, each glass enhancing the flavors of the beautifully prepared food. The tables were set with simple yet elegant floral arrangements, allowing the natural beauty of the venue to shine through. As guests enjoyed the delicious food and wine, the air was filled with laughter and the hum of lively conversation, reflecting the joy of the day.

After the ceremony, we made our way to the new area of the Adelaide Railway Station for a quick photo session. This spot was a brilliant contrast to the historic beauty of the Pilgrim Uniting Church. The modern, curvy lines of the station’s architecture provided a sleek and stylish backdrop for Emily and James’ portraits. The juxtaposition of the contemporary design with the couple’s classic wedding attire made for some truly striking images. Next, we headed to one of Adelaide’s hidden gems – the Mortlock Wing of the State Library. This space is nothing short of enchanting. The library’s ambiance is reminiscent of a scene from a Harry Potter film, and it provided a dramatic and unique setting for Emily and James’ photos. Jasmine and Rikki’s wedding was initially planned to take place in front of the charming little chapel on site. However, with the rain coming down, a last-minute change saw the ceremony moved to the undercover area in front of the smaller function room on the lower level. This adjustment didn’t dampen the spirits one bit; instead, it brought everyone closer together, creating a cozy and intimate atmosphere that was simply perfect for such a special occasion.

Preparation

The day began with a buzz of excitement as both Jasmine and Rikki prepared on site. Rikki and his groomsmen occupied the small room at the end of the complex, exuding a laid-back vibe as they got ready. Their main focus was getting the photos done swiftly so they could relax and enjoy the day. Dressed to impress, they laughed and shared stories, setting a light-hearted tone for the day ahead.
